Clay bar is like a lump of plasticine that you rub over the paintwork - it removes all the tiny dust & dirt particles that are in your paint - gives a nice smooth finish. Doubt anyone would need to do it unless their car was at least a couple of years old. You need to keep the area your claying wet though - you can use car-wash shampoo i believe, although if you buy the meguiars claybar you get a bottle of "lubraicant" with it. (snigger) Only needs done a couple of times a a year i reckon - check out Rob's polished bliss website - for more details. He sponsors a section of ScoobyNet & his write-ups on what he does & the accompanying pictures are really good for info. He's going to be at F&M tomorrow I believe.

Already been done Noel, but did you see the recent thread with the DC camoflage cars? They are smart. Zebra stripes sound good too, but I reckon they'd look better on a white motor. Also, have a look at the Litchfield/Powerstation race cars, with the cheque graphics in a kind of off-centre viper stripe. Nice. ed209 - you have too much money mate.

Both blue motors on this thread are looking good, but I also spent today doing some work on the shiny car parked outside. Used a clay bar for the 1st time, with Chemical Guys Detailer as the Lubricant. Then came a glaze, then Blackfire wax over the top. Used Poorboys Bold & Brite on the tyres and the scoob is looking shiny.

Did Arnold get his leg over the night before he agreed to pay for that one? Coz from what i gather he's as tight as two coats of paint. But well done anyway [Y]
