  1. Thanks guys (and girls) The lady wins the prize cheers Andy
  2. As per title really. I've been looking around for a cheap'ish version 1 or 2 classic (UK/WRX/RA/Sti) to buy to use as a test bed for the latest ESL live mapping software. Anything I have found has either been rough/rusty/v high miles or too expensive (maybe I'm too fussy) Anyway, if anyone would like to donate their car for a day to allow me to get up to speed with this particular software, in return they will receive a fully custom remapped car for the bargain price of £100 (please note this is around 20% of the RRP and is a one-off ! ) This upgrade consists of a proper remap of the existing ECU, a bit like Ecutek on the later cars. It is not an interceptor, piggyback ecu or FCD. It is ideally suited to someone with stage 1 level mods such as a decat exhaust and induction upgrade. Regarding timescales, ideally Saturday the 27th October. Please PM me if interested cheers Andy
  3. How about a set of forged pistons, sti intercooler and Garrett bolt on turbo John ? 400/400 with ease, 450/450 if you add bigger injectors. Then you need to start saving for a gearbox though
  4. The APS cold air kit is ideal for the bigger turbos running 370+bhp but up to this level (on the newage cars) the std airbox with a decent filter would be my preferred option. I have read reports that removing the resonator box on the newage make a big difference to spool up, I know it makes a big improvement on the classics but new age resonators look far less restrictive. Still, its a cheap mod and will do no harm. Andy
  5. I don't see too many Spec C type RA's from Guernsey so I'm guessing that would be Davy McCulloch out in his wifes mildly tuned car Andy

  8. I have a new printer now that will actually talk to my laptop ! The figures are at the flywheel, not at the wheels as it states on the graph. The Red and Green runs were done in opposite directions on the same section of road in order to negate the effects of wind. The average of the two tends to be close to Dastek RR figures. The spikes in the graph are due to the way the ECU outputs the data, its slightly irregular as its priority is controlling the engine, not giving out data. The peak at the end of the red graph is where the rpm blipped during the gearshift and should be ignored. Every time I map one of these new 2.5 WRX's I have to say I think they are the performance bargain of the century ! £13995 then spend a further £2k on a turbo upgrade/sports cat/remap and brake pads. £16k for this sort of performance in a brand new car Andy
  9. Hi Guys Thanks for all the interest in this Group buy Can we draw a line at 40 cars please, that way it doesn't go on and on and on to the point that the time delay becomes an issue If anyone is still waiting on a reply from me regarding dates can you resend your email please as I may have lost it to my junk filter ! thanks Andy
  10. Cheers guys, some vids from s/net. http://s152.photobucket.com/albums/s190/SI...nt=54fe7ce0.flv
  11. Well we gave it until 10:30 to stop raining but its still pouring down here so we will not be loading up the trailer and setting off on the 2hr drive to Crail today I'm afraid. Andy
  12. Hi Guys Just to say I hope to take the race car to Crail on Sunday (weather permitting) to test out a few mods prior to TOTB the following weekend. I'm only posting here as last time I went I never told anyone about it and had a few "you should have said" emails after the event ! cheers Andy
  13. Without a doubt it can be, its down to the operator. Andy
  14. Sounds reasonable to me [Y] I was referring to Jac having the quickest New age Sti UK, that would have been easier to see if we had the additions you suggest. (which is similar to the detail I added to my own cars times) Andy
  15. Nice one Peter [] Jac, what can I say [H] Scotlands fastest new age Sti ? Andy
  16. Nice one Stuart [] Its really close timing where you are, 0.05 secs splitting 4 cars !

  18. Thanks Guys Peter, be sure and ask Alan which turbo he ran that he would consider most suitable for a road car. Andy.
  19. Using Ecutek 'Roaddyno' It has the frontal area, drag coefficient, rolling resistance, weight and gearing data, you add the tyre size and additional weight (passengers etc) then from a run through 3rd or 4th on a level road it will calculate a power and torque curve. Seems pretty accurate, if you go to 3 different rolling roads, this will be very close to one of them !! More info here - http://www.ecutek.com/products/dyno/ Andy
  20. I thought I might have got 4th place due to the higher terminal than AndyN [:'(]
  21. Thanks Peter [Y] and well done on a new PB today []
  22. I wouldn't say so Russell, my last MY03 WRX runs a 20G and its defo not laggy, thats on std headers though which helps spool up and doesn't seem to trouble it top end as it runs very low 12's on the 1/4m Andy
