  8. Nice one Archie Maybe you should take up drag racing, no corners, what could possibly go wrong cheers Andy
  9. Oh, I might get one back on there now Welding by AFP
  10. My new 888's came with a warning not to store or use then below 0 deg C as the compound may crack and damage the tyre ! I had used them on the Spec c all winter before I read that ! Andy
  11. Yes, from memory it was 485bhp at 1.2bar, 604bhp at 1.6 bar and 644bhp with a misfire limiting rpm to 6500 at 1.75 bar but then John made some adjustment to the rundown losses on the graph as they were adding a false amount to the flywheel power so it corrected to 'only' 619bhp. I think Chris took some pics/video so may have some more detail Andy
  12. Nobody here old enough to remember when we done the 0-60 shootout at Star Performance rolling road about ooooh, 9 years ago !! I think a white RA won it Andy
  13. Someone did say some time ago that V-power was being reformulated with 5% Ethanol, not sure if this is the reason for running down the stocks..... or even if its true !! Andy
  14. Good to hear you found the issue Steve, tricky one when it was intermittent and only at high boost 6000+ rpm ! Yes it was good power for the boost (1.75bar) I think once its wound up to 7000rpm and also boosting to the full potential of the turbo it may well increase by a further 30-40 bhp......then add the 75 shot !! Andy.
  15. Well I can't possibly say but it did begin with a 6
  16. Don't knock it Frank, that silicone spray on the tyres is the business for drifting
  17. Haha, I can tell that's obviously photoshopped as the car appears clean
  18. Steve, you sniff it not drink it ya numpty May take a wander over to Crail on Sunday out of interest !
  19. A little birdie tells me its looking "quite cool" Chris ! Looking forward to mapping later in the week Andy
  20. The twin boost map set up is included in the remap on all 01-06 WRX and Sti. Nice to meet Leslie and Stuart today, that's a cracking car you have there cheers Andy
  21. I have only ever had 1 request to open an ECU for the owner to tweek the map himself and that was Paul. I agree you shouldn't be 'locked out' of your own ECU however Ecutek have to protect their investment in man hours, developing this software, which has been to the benefit of the whole Subaru community for many years. Ecutek have now been supplying a professional, fully tested product for around 10 years and as I mentioned previously, have produced many performance cars direct from the factory, complete with full Subaru warranty. Gaining this level of manufacturer and consumer confidence and respect has taken quite some investment, so to have someone come and "copy" "paste" a Prodrive PPP map for example is surely not what they would like to see happen. This will have involved Prodrive staff in hundreds of hours of development work in a number of countrys, under different climate conditions, using different grades of fuel. I think that trying to protect their work from plaigiarism or piracy is quite understandable. cheers Andy
  22. lol, couldn't help but notice this one on the same page How inconvenient, the public using your dedicated drag strip !!!
  23. The Ecutek licence remains with the ECU. Any Ecutek tuner can then gain free access to that ECU although they can only write to it with their own work, this simply protects the original tuners work from copying (or used to). There was a facility to 'lock' the ECU to one tuner but nobody does that as far as I'm aware. Ecutek dealers can also put the ECU back to standard free of charge should someone wish to start tuning it themselves. Recent 'pirate' software now allows free copying of Ecutek maps, there are now some OS guys out there collecting a nice portfolio of other tuners hard work ! The Ecutek tuning licences can now be bought in 'bulk' for purposes such as group buys etc, this way it adds only £125 to the initial mapping costs with no future licence fees applying. cheers Andy
