  1. Just a point, Ecutek doesn't lock you out of your ECU, nor does it mean you have to go back to the same tuner. I use Ecutek as it is a professional product with full support available to only professional tuners. It is the best product on the market. Prodrive share that view as they use Ecutek software to remap the International rally cars, the PPP cars, the WR1, RB320, 330S... Litchfields also use Ecutek for the type 25 and now for the new GTR If these guys thought they could offer the same quality mapping at lower cost, I'm sure they would. cheers Andy
  2. If its the front one they are quite expensive ! AWD in Perth had them in stock when I was up there mapping yesterday. Andy
  3. You can do it either way with the Simtek and Syvecs, on your car there would be enough spare injector capacity to do it dry. Optionally you can use a standalone system and trigger it on/off from the ECU when required.
  4. It depends on what pump capacity you have spare at the moment ? 50bhp of N2O requires approx 300cc/min of fuel. Let me know the spec of your current pumps/regs/ injectors and maximum inj duty and I'll work it out for you. Andy
  5. Correct, 1 nozzle, 2 feeds, the N2O helps vaporise the fuel as it blasts out. http://www.chgperformance.co.uk/catalog/im...%20standard.jpg One throttle body mounted nozzle is ideal for up to 100bhp, over that I would go for individual port injection but that also brings complications so I would avoid if possible. Andy
  6. No more risk if used for spooling the turbo, like anti lag but without the pops and bangs. N2O has a cooling effect so its not as scary as people (or F+F ) make out. The additional fuel for the N2O can be supplied via the same nozzle so injector duty is not changed. Andy
  7. You can run it purely to spool the turbo instantly or as an additional source of power, or indeed a blend of both. Pretty effective stuff the old nawz
  8. GT35-86 is a good option Chris, I ran with a 35/42 a few years back and its currently on John S's T/A car. I would be interested in trying S/clinics billet 35 though, based on the billet 30 results ! Garrett should also have the smaller versions of their 11 blade GTX-R forged billet wheels around soon too. On decent fuel you should see full boost by 4000rpm. I also have a fully mappable progressive N2O programme available for the Simtek as developed on my race car a few years back. Steve has been in touch re mapping, so no probs there Andy.
  9. As the mapper, I can vouch for Grahams claims re boost threshold. Not typical of a VF35 I might add, just a good example Andy
  10. The torque seems normal enough for 1.6 bar of boost on non AVCS heads. A 2.5 Sti, even with the benefit of AVCS on its original turbo would be no where near this torque at 1.6 bar and neither would a 2.0 !! The car was mapped safely to 1.9 bar. At this boost level, with the safety levels I used, I would expect to see just under 500lbft . I held it down to this level as I consider it is pushing close to the limits of the standard EJ257 blocks thin liners. The fact it made circa 550bhp on the low boost is a bonus. I estimated this would be the output from the full boost setting but then we know that all dynos differ. Anything approaching 600bhp on the std 2.5 block is not what I would recommend....... ideal for the snow though cheers Andy
  11. All sorted and Barry is now booked in for mid January with his new monster spec !! cheers Andy
  12. http://bbs.scoobynet.com/general-technical...bottom-end.html
  13. As mentioned previously, the mapping is only as good as the mapper. Ecutek software however is probably the best their is, as used by Prodrive to do the PPP upgrades and the factory Subaru rally cars. Mitsubishi also used Ecutek for the FQ*** Evo's. Whether your garage use snap on tools or B+Q tools may not affect the job they do working on your car but it does say 'something' about them. Andy
  14. Looking good Chris I got a hard time for using those headlights on my fat assed Chav mobile as well lol........ Andy
  15. Unlikely to be a genuine Ecutek remap if it was done at Extreme as they are not Ecutek Subaru dealers. Although they may have brought someone in to do it ? http://www.ecutek.com/map/ cheers Andy
  16. Thats unusual Frank, what failed on it ? Was it not still covered by the 12 months warranty ? Andy

  20. There is no issue with the wastegate pressure, preload or the AVCR settings. Even with 90% duty the boost will not achieve target. Airflow readings are normal for that boost level which tends to rule out an airleak and there is no blowing from the exhaust. Thats why I suspect turbo damage reducing the efficiency. cheers Andy
  21. Hi guys, I should be up to date on emails by end of play Thursday (or thats the plan anyway) If you don't have a reply regarding booking a date by then, drop me another email. Emails requesting specific tuning info may take a bit longer, particularly in cases where you may find the answers on my website where we cover the majority of scenarios for different models. www.andyforrestperformance.co.uk cheers Andy
  22. No further discount I'm afraid, its not the same as buying parts where a supplier would discount for volume sales as he can bulk buy the parts cheaper and pass on the savings.
