  1. Are you allowed more than one entry if you still have both cars ? Andy
  2. I am running an Autronics ECU on my race car this year and I'm certainly not contracting out the mapping [] Andy
  3. I would tend to say neither Peter. Depending on how far your next stage is going I would say Autronics SM4 ECU Ecutek is ideal for up to the maximum bolt-on turbo power level of approx 450bhp Once you go twisted set up then you are better with a map based unit. Andy
  4. Afraid not, only available on JDM Sti's
  5. If you want the rpm band in which it is active altered/narrowed to make it easier to live with thats not a problem. Or I can just turn it off again. Andy
  6. Its not overfueling so no risk of borewash. The timing is retarded by 'a chunk' [] ignition still takes place but so late that some air/fuel mix gets to the hot exhaust before it has completed the burn. This is just whilst on very high vacuum overrun and in a particular rpm band, as soon as you touch the throttle or dip the clutch the engine responds as normal. Andy
  7. I don't recall racing another van [] there was this distant white spec in my mirror come to think about it []
  8. You're correct Alan, The turbo - intercooler hose is replaced as part of the PPP kit. cheers Andy
  9. I would have thought the chip supplier should be sorting this out for you ? I'd try closing in your plug gaps to 0.5mm, if this improves or fixes it then the underlying issue is your coil packs need replaced. cheers Andy
  10. Warning - cheap ebay sourced inlet pipes can cost you more money in the long run []
  11. Quite amusing when I suggested to Stuart that he should wind the diff setting forward to stop it going sideways so much under power [:|] He replied, "it's a 50/50 centre diff" !! Andy
  12. Hoi Russ, do I come to your rolling road days and offer my mapping services ? [] Only joking mate......[] Andy
  13. Your ECU cannot be reset using the above procedure (let me know if you ever find the Black jumpers....lol) Some of the learned values can be reset by a power down but many fault codes will remain and not all CEL's will clear. Why do you want to reset it ? Andy
  14. Have you lost your old username T-uk John ? Andy
  15. You really need to have respect for these machines. I'm probably a bigger risk when driving my diesel van than in my scoob [] The van gets 'nailed' everywhere and is on the limit of adhesion on most bends [] Speeds are however relatively low. The only time the scoob gets WOT on the road is when there is nothing behind, nothing in front and nothing on the other side of the road. It's just me and the sheep that need to worry ! Andy
  16. Nice one Graham [] I did say at the time that the roaddyno is just an estimated figure but it usually works out pretty close with an unbiased RR operator such as Dastek or Star Performance [H] Andy
  17. Thanks Grant, thats a clean RA you have there [H] As usual the boys from Greers had the cars well prepped and they ran without a hitch. They even supplied me with a personnal chauffeur for the day........ and I wasn't even scared [] Andy
  18. Why are you waiting for the Green ?
  19. Yea but you got it right Fee, keep doing it your way ! Don't fall into the bad habit of relaxed starts, it backfires on you when you get into eliminator type events as these are 1st across the line wins. A number of my friends down south have lost big races at the pod due to being in the habit of going when they have their revs/clutch/mirror/hair etc to their liking before launching. Put them under the pressure of a reaction launch and they are rubbish ! If you look at the times kev posted, then reading between the lines, if the 'fast' runs had some of their reaction time added to the 60' it all starts to make more sense, both reaction and 60' would then be 'normal' Looks like the light that clocks you away from the line was triggering late, that would increase the reaction time and drop 60' time. Andy
  20. Good call Kev [] Here's Kevs view. It helps to be realistic. Normally in proper drag racing you need to "back up" a result within 1% on the same day. ie if you run a 12.1 you would need to back it up with a 12.22 or faster before it would be accepted. The reason for this is to eliminate the odd dodgy result. Andy
  21. I'd have to agree with you Kev. A 1.75-1.80 60' at Crail is about the best you can expect on road tyres. cheers Andy
  22. Not on the current rather er aggressive map []
  23. Turbine housing change and 'sprint' boost profile. I don't think it affected top end power but midrange was like a whack on the back of the head !
  24. Was that yours in there on the rollers yesterday Chris ? What did it produce in the end ? Andy
  25. One stat that I gathered from my car that I pondered over for some time was the acceleration from 100mph in 3rd gear measured at 0.95G Andy
