  1. We have 3 boys! No girl so my wife is a bit disappointed as she wanted to breed some more (the sire won Crufts this year!) I put a pic of one of them next to Willow to let you see the size of them....have to watch where you walk in our kitchen just now!
  2. Nicely captured - I think a bit of cropping and some contrast/colour correction would make it pop even more. Great action shot thought.
  3. Love the Vietnam airport(?) pic - really good processing on it. I left a wee comment on yer Flickr too.
  4. Love the processing on that one marky. That's a great macro 4hero - never noticed it on Flickr - did u put it up? You are in my contacts but I must have missed that one. Took these yesterday while out on the grass in front of the house - one of Sam and the other is our dog Willow. The one with Sam was using Photoshop CS5's new HDR toning and I went with the high contrast look as I've not done it much before - I quite like the result and the blown out hotspots work for me too...it's my daughter and her pal in the background too.
  5. If it was a wagon I'd buy it back Glad to hear it's all sorted now - be interesting to see what that extra power feels like - I must have been down in power and I thought it was just the old "you get used to the power" syndrome as I had a feeling it was a bit sluggish and had I not sold it Duncan would have had his hands back on it to get it checked out anyway.
  6. now, if only they offered a Lairdship with it - some Arab would pay a lot of money
  7. Went out last night as it was a cracking sky and I had seen a good place to do some photography whilst out on an exploratory cycle. As often happens, I didn't get the shot I wanted but I ended up with this one. I then quickly grabbed a few snaps of the car - I actually think this is the first pic I have taken of this one after having taken so many of my FTO and the Blue WRX I had too! Some of the places I go in this car tho, I couldn't in the WRX so it's quite nice not having to worry about how low the car is
  8. Funnily enough I was gonna swap my FTO for one of them a fair few years ago...went for the scoob instead! Might look at these again. Sorry for O/T chat Stephen!
  9. Prius? I need a daddy wagon - high MPG but still a largish estate if you can recommend anything. The Blobeye Sport I have is just not doing it for me!
  10. http://www.evo.co.uk/videos/planetevovideo...es_impreza.html Just a teaser of the full vid which is to follow...
  11. holy crap - pull out of the sale and say they took too long and buy a much newer car for that money from a member with a well looked after one! 03 WRX's are going for about 5-6 and STI's a bit more but 9k seems a lot IMHO.
  12. Already watching Ebay for the Shimano M520 full SPDs Loads about and decent price too.
  13. Thanks for that I am an avid "read up on everything b4 you buy" kind of guy so I now have a pair of shoes with cleats coming and a set of Shimano pedals with the flat/spd sides so I can use both as suggested. The guy I got the shoes from said the double sided ones can be annoying to get into - better to just get SPD on both sides but I'll see how it goes I have watched many vids of people on youtube with their clipless pedals and their various mishaps so I am well prepared - I got ones with a screw adjuster for the spring so you can make unclipping easy to learn Next I need a feck-off bright headlight for night riding! Anyone use a good one? Mine is ok but it can be pitch black where I go - never see people and nowhere near cars so I can get a pretty intense light I came back on here to post this: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...ME:B:EF:GB:1120 It's cheap but I saw a few good reviews of it and decided to give it a go - and it works brilliantly! I use the iphone to track my rides to work and my evening 10mile ride with my dog in tow and was finding it annoying not being able to see the phone to track speed/pace etc. I got this wee holder for much cheapness and it's great! Not done any DH with it but it was pretty secure going down steps and thru woods etc.
  14. Gus - this guy is in Scotland - I actually got my Nikon VR 70-300mm lens from him and picked it up from his sister's house in Fife somewhere iirc! The house was stacked with Canon gear but he has been going years and is well known - he gets great prices and altho he is on Ebay he is great to deal with direct. http://myworld.ebay.co.uk/kerso/ - use contact seller and you'll get his email address. His name is Ian Kerr. Re the Digital Rev (and other HK shops) - some come with an international warranty which Nikon or Canon will honour - DigitalRev also have their own 12 month warranty free of charge - others have a Mack warranty which is a 3rd party who are supposed to be better and faster than the actual manufacturers for warranty work and speed of delivery/return! You will get cheaper from HK but if u buy in the UK you have the peace of mind about having a UK warranty. Have you checked Amazon? Have you considered 2nd hand too? A lot of people sell them with very little use - bit like mountain bikes or bread makers...seems a good idea but it sits idle Also, just remembered: http://www.warehouseexpress.com/digital-slr-cameras/b3065
  15. I think you'll find people approve of my pics in the random thread etc and they were all taken on my Nikon D50 It's just Scooby vs Evo, Apple vs MS, Rangers vs Celtic - same old crap. Both Nikons and Canons are excellent - just try them - I found my D50 much more solid compared to a 350D I think it was. Just try them in the shops then go buy them elsewhere (Digital Rev is great - from HK but well known and respected)
  16. http://blog.iphone-dev.org/ is THE place for your best info and they have said SpritJB is good! That's good enough for me! I have been waiting for one so I can go on to 3.1 and beyond - will be trying it this afternoon on my 3G (not S) - I don't need the unlock - just the JB so it's fine for me. First thing I put on is 5 Column Springboard I have 20 icons on my screen instead of the normal 16 and I also put the the 5 icon dock. I use SBSettings all the time for quick access to 3G and Wifi settings as well as brightness when battery is getting low and I am out and about. I use Fstream to listen to Radio 1 or 5 Live. Cycorder to record video (yes on a 3G!). TomTom instead of my now retired trusty Ipaq. Cydia for JB apps (although someone mentioned a newer/faster app (not ICY)) Dtunes for playing my own mp3s and not needing itunes and I have Handbrake on the PC to convert films and downloaded series/episodes to mp4 so they go in Itunes and then onto the phone easily. I use iphone browser on the PC to transfer stuff to and from the iphone without using itunes too. You can enable SSH so you can connect wirelessly too and set up shared folders. So much more stuff it can do but apple lock it down so much! JB is much more fun if you are into techy stuff but still very handy if you just want a bit more functionality on your phone.
  17. My 18month contract is up and I am not sure what 02's upgrade price will be on the Iphone 4 but I do fancy one as I am still 3G and want faster, better, more!
  18. Daily Record would jump on a story like this - or the Scottish Sun - they love a drama - complete with stills from the vids posted.
  19. Nice Steve - I saw these before but didn't realise who you were - bit of a change from the FTO then? Isn't that power under your foot so much fun!?
  20. I agree with the above - Canon or Nikon for entry level DSLR definitely. You are limiting yourself hugely by getting an Olympus
  21. Anyone got SPD pedals/shoes I could buy or ideally try I heard you need to get a shoes size bigger as they make them small. I want to try clipless pedals.
  22. Hi John, Download the demo of GetDataBack and try to see if it can see any data - it can see drives even if Windows cannot. If it does find anything I can get you a version to use) Also go online and get the specific HD tool from the manufacturer (what brand is it?) as they can usually fix things a universal HD tool can't - or at least get it working long enough to get your data off it. This page has all the big manufacturers: http://www.tacktech.com/display.cfm?ttid=287 Clicking is not good but usually you have some time to get stuff off. Can u scan it at all? I do data recovery but if you go to the extent of getting the HD opened and the platters read you are talking hundreds of pounds and it has to be sent away to a place with a clean room with men in white suits etc...seriously! I looked into it when our Mac died at work and we had a magazine due out in 4 days - we lost it all. (macs are not good for recovering from - Windows is definitely easier!) Hope this helps - gimme a shout if u need anything else as there's nothing worse than losing everything in a HD disaster!
