  1. Also star - had a day there with the Honda guys for a RR but his expertise lies in the VAG engines. He knows his stuff
  2. Dunno why people are bothering - no privacy issues as it was on public roads. So people think some nasty crooks are gonna look on Google maps to plan where to nick a car from? Why don't they just jump in their car and go for a drive round the area looking for cars to steal rather than looking on the web at a map that is showing a pic of your drive/parking area from 9 months ago? (maybe less but not much!)
  3. Fair Deal tyres is in Bathgate - try them too - they may come out as you are not far away
  4. Ah ok, not very good mobile tyre fitter then - Pumpherston to Bathgate is hardly a long way!! The guys across the road said if you were stuck to call as they are too busy now but may be able to do something later. I'll keep an eye on my PMs, if you need them gimme a shout.
  5. Tried these guys? http://www.yell.com/b/H+Mobile+Tyres-Tyres...3765/index.html I'll ask the guys across the road from us here as they do Truck tyres but may know someone who can come to you.
  6. Very nice, I always loved that colour after seeing my first RB5 - I am back in a Scoob but it's a GX I really want a turbo again. Anyway glad to see someone is back in the fold again
  7. The DS2500s are amazing and once bedded in you really will notice a difference.
  8. Ditto - still got a scooby but non turbo GX - things are looking up tho and there may be a new job in the offing - if I get it I'll be straight back out and picking up a blobeye again
  9. She was not keen to take my car in this weather m8 - I have told her a few times
  10. We just got back - it was solid ice and the car was miles from anywhere at a dog walking place! Got it out in 3 mins lol - no towing! Just put de-icer on the tires and just used the clutch to go very slowly and it got grip then we reversed it a bit and took a run up...job done
  11. Cheers - just as I thought It's in an empty office carpark - closed for the holidays. I've already been there and had enough grip altho it's got colder tonight and more icy (snow is hard outside). Just waiting on my mate coming with the tow rope
  12. My wife's Scenic is stuck up the road where we walk the dogs and we have tried a few options but to no avail as it's solid ice and only one wheel is spinning! I am gonna go back with the scoob and tow it. There is a towing hook in the boot according to the manual and I can attach it to the front or back of the car. So what I want to know is, should I pull it in Lo (I have the dual range lever) and have you guys any other tips One thing which helped a bit was a tip about just using the clutch and not using the accelerator at all to just turn the wheels and no more (on her car - not mine) whilst pushing it and getting it rocking a bit... Should I do it in 1st or 2nd - Hi or Lo. I'm guessing 1st and in Lo as it should gain more traction. Cheers!
  13. Was it ever in the dictionary? It's Gullible.
  14. If they are adding mechanical work they will be quoting based on top dollar main dealer prices and you'll find that a lot of things can be uprated for less than main dealers OEM parts! But, buying it back is a good option if you get quotes for 2-3k to sort it and they give you a decent whack more than that back.
  15. afaik from looking on various forums over the years you CAN go to your own repairer if you can confirm an agreed quote from them - their ones are only recommended - not required. If you get a quote from somewhere like Steve Walker Bodyshop in West Calder I think you'll find it will NOT be 6.5k - that's a ridiculous quote. I have been on the FTOOC for about 7yrs and there is a LOT of them being told their car is a write off but there is one repairer who has been fixing FTOs as long as I can remember and he deals with the insurance companies and gives them much more realistic quotes and has saved a huge amount of owners from losing their P&J - most have ended up even better Good luck with it all!
  16. 1000s spent full speck is as dollows... Yep the grammar nazi in me just had a fit!
  17. Look after it Looks much better now the front has been repaired at last I am gonna need to sell the 15"s you gave me (nice tyres too - those Pirelli P6000 are cracking!) as both the fronts on the GX need replaced! Gonna get all the other goodies on asap tho Car feels nice - but having no turbo is gonna take me time to get used to! lol
  18. I'll be there too - my son will love that and I'll bring the camera gear too

  21. I've a nice newage for sale Check FS section...
  22. Not sure if you want to go to a big brake kit or just new pads and discs - I went for Godspeeds own discs and Mintex Extreme and they were very good - pads didn't last long tho...I now have Godspeed's own Kevlar pads and they are good but not as good as the Mintex (my WRX is also 300bhp) but if you want really good get Ferrodo DS2500 or Carbotech - search on here as brakes are discussed a LOT
  23. I got my alignment at ProGrip and Leon provided me with Eagle F1s (GDS3 tho) for £150 a pair fitted at Broxburn Kwik Fit - just give them a buzz and ask for him.
