  1. Awww Craig. C'mon man, get out on track. It's the only way to fly. I've done the rally day at knockhill which I don't think would be anywhere near as good as the one Del's arranged (shouts for a place next year if it's done again, funds permitting) which looks great fun. But the feeling of 4 wheel drifting your own car over the top of duffus, touching cloth as you wonder "was that just a wee bit too quick that time", then collecting it all back up again before trying not to fling it too hard to the left and getting it off balance before jumping on the anchors, again touching cloth and wondering "christ, I hope I've got brakes left, was this right hander as tight the last time round? I'm sure it wasn't" - that's priceless. Now man up and get it booked.
  2. I'll share some more: Coming back from the "central big one". PaulC555's first meeting as RO. ally-b, with some G. Mac ballast and I decided to call it a night and head south. Halfway home a 350z joined in the fun too and tailed ally all the way to the south side but I dived off to bomb down the 73. I think we saw the speed limit twice that night. Or have I got my words round the wrong way? Twice and speed limit certainly spring to mind. Last time I saw Gumball in the deathstar - Wee jaunt down the M8 then on to the Bellshill bypass, where he flew past me like I'd engaged the handbrake when I was actually foot to the floor in third. The noise was exceptional, like the four horsemen of the Apocalypse tuning up their instruments. Plus he kept up nicely round the previous two corners which was something that I'd not seen since I went from the bambi on ice Vectra to the scooby. Oh and setting fire to a picnic table at the Glasgow BBQ. I'm an idiot.
  3. Well done Higgy. Now get a profile written and sent to me so I can put it up on the website. Zeolite - good on you for the last year. Fife's looking well. /walks away humming duelling banjos.
  4. Great news Alan. As the others said, 1000 miles taking it fairly easy then in for the first oil change and you can really open it up.
  5. PM Phil your membership number when you get it, plus postcode and username for the forums. Shop and forum is not linked at all ATM.
  6. They firm up with better pads/discs, but the Brembos are very nice. Good choice on the car too.
  7. Enjoy yourself Gus. Stay off the local brew though. It's rubbish.
  8. Wheel bags are excellent Craig. I got a set last year in another GB. I'll be driving up in my Goodyears then busting out the worn, but now track-tastic RE050s.
  9. SIDC sticker on the back then Dougie?
  10. 5 miles should do you Craig. We've all seen you launching from the christmas tree or hurling it round Knockhill. But seriously, when I put my second set of RE050s on the car it felt like Bambi on ice until I'd done maybe 200 miles of regular driving. 70s should be about the same I'd imagine. Good luck with them if it rains!
  11. The 05WRX has the Inverted struts like the STI. Not sure if they are identical or not though. I have Teins on my 05WRX without any issues. The bump stops have to be modded though, it's in the instructions.
  12. Gigoloing must pay well then?
  13. Couple of new ages missing as well though. Captain Fantastic's rocket ship being the most obvious. []
  14. Ummm. Neil, isn't it the other way round mate? Crap wedding, great reception?
  15. They do get a grip of you. Especially if you start on the modding. Which is a great bug to catch. Treatment is expensive though.
  16. I've got to agree with JC here actually. I'm paying out handsomely on mine, and look forward to the loan finishing. In the past I'd have just traded up at that point, but I think I'm gonna keep my baby for a while yet. Mo' money, mo' mods. Unless I get promotion and a Spec C gets in range. Oh yes.
  17. Good stuff mate. Where abouts is AP Motorsport?
  18. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Top_fuel_dragster Oh and read that too. 6000-8000bhp V8 engines, but using technology that went out with the Ford Cortina. Crazy.
  19. Who was I telling about this the other day? Anyway, I found the article again so enjoy whoever it was.
  20. That standup was David Spade and it has to have been from the 80s. Back then Subaru were making some pretty horrific cars in America. So I don't think you have to be too concerned about it []
  21. 1) Does driving to the station count? Then yes 2) Yes, it's my only car. 3) Station, 5. Actual distance to work as the crow flies - 35. 4) About an hour 5) Of course.
  22. A rabbi, a priest and a vicar walk into a bar. The bar man says, is this some sort of joke?
  23. PCP? Cal, that's a serious drug mate. That shit will **** you right up. But seriously - PCP's are a right lot of pish. Get an unsecured bank loan. They're practically pulling people off the street to give them one at low low rates. PCP seems like a great idea at the time, but it always ends up being rubbish, unless you get a jammy break with residuals and depreciation. Remember the grey import route too. []
  24. Is this so you can shave an extra tenth off the 1/4 mile Craig, and JC?
