Finally got to see it. Very nice grant. Very nice indeed.

Imy, I filled up in Bellshill on the way to whitburn and when I got home last night I think I had done a total of about 195 miles with about 1/4 tank left, so it wasn't too heavy on the petrol. But yes, it is very good to have start/stop/rest near a shell, even if it is just for a cheeky top up to make it home alright. Especially with some of these nutters in the 350bhp or more cars.

I'm bustin' to watch this now. Someone save it and shove it up on youtube for me please!

CF, you are more than welcome on these forums as I think these two fine upstanding gentlemen have tried to explain in their own inimitable style. However, you have arrived on the scene and been confrontational and derogatory about other members cars and a great offer that T&C are giving the SIDC that craig managed to negotiate. Healthy competition is par for the course on the forums in the community, be it power runs, 1/4 mile times, knockhill (although not timed on the trackdays of course) and even show and shine for some. HOWEVER, this competition remains at all times friendly but spirited. The "fun slagging" that Craig mentions is there, but it is between people that know each other quite well who realise no malice is intended in any of the comments, it's purely a bit of banter. As a newcomer you are not exactly best placed to burst onto the scene claiming all our 1/4 mile times are rubbish, and laugh at Peter for braking his car when you claim it has no power. If you want to be a part of this great community then by all means stick around, but I'd ask that you respect the other members, and as the saying goes "put up or shut up" with a link to your 12.2 run on the crail website (if it was done at crail) and a scan of your dyno figures as everyone can quote numbers, but few can deliver them. Regards Stephen

Poultice - a ye olde time bandage/treatment for sucking puss out of a wound. Also used as a term to describe someone that's a bit of a pain.

What are you buying for your scooby next?
st3ph3n replied to jamie_wood's topic in Scottish Scoobies
Yeah thats kind of a key item... have fun hunting quotes. As for me I've been reliably informed that my car is to quiet after todays run so I think the stock backbox is going to have to go. Now where did I lock up that credit card....... [:S] I was one of the people that mentioned the backbox. Ally-b the Glasgow RO has a nice one for sale in the for sale section. Would work a treat on your car, and he's not asking much for it. -
Better get yourself a Kanji keyboard then Cal.

They get blocked at work for me too [] I have no doubt it's of the highest quality though.
-
I saw it as we buzzed past and thought. "How the fook did that get up there". Imy - it was actually after you had passed as it was on the road to crawford john and we'd obviously got sidetracked quite a bit before that and you'd got ahead.

It can't have been one of these then - as they are not allowed to do you as front facing due to the flash. If you were done by a front facing camera it was NOT a "GATSO" of that variety. "Fixed installation post (F.I.P) Gatso speed cameras are rear facing as they use a 'flash' to capture the image required for prosecution, which would distract a driver if forward facing. "

Gumball, the deathstar was in good hands today. Hearing it on the motorway on the way home reminded me of that day coming home on the M8. One day you'll be back int he fold mate.

I'm shattered, but everything seems to be running fine. Knocking could be from that huge pothole out the back of carnwath before the railroad crossing. I think the clio stopped on the road in front of the middle group might have been a victim of it too.

I've been flashed going towards them maybe 5 times, and never been done.

The defis are great. Absolute best of gear. The dashes in the car are made by Defi's parent company, so you are likely to get perfect colour matching. My Defi STI Genome Gauges are a perfect match to the black background, green numbering and red needles.

1. The sports/gx are very reliable and competent cars. They are however not the turbo models. In my personal opinion I think you can probably get something better for your money with the non-turbos, but maybe not with as much character. The 4wd they all come with makes them very capable in the wet, snow etc. and they are very safe cars. 2. Not sure. Someone else might be able to help. 3. GATSO flashing in your face means you wont get done. 4. Membership - http://shop.sidc.co.uk/index.cfm?cat_id=2 - the club is great, and very active, and not just limited to turbo owners, although most are. The runs, meets and various events are all a great success and the forums are a very lively place full of lots of useful help.

Defi do white background dials with green illumination. Will cost you though. http://www.tein.co.uk/defi/finfo.html Them, then click the dealers list link and see who can do them. OR try ebay.

Anyone back from the September run yet? also 2 WIY's today
st3ph3n replied to Dougie C's topic in Scottish Scoobies
I'm first by the look of it. I'm only up the M74 and then dive into Bothwell, so I had the distance advantage I think. -
Just back in the door and sat down with a frosty glass of coke. What a great day out. Grant and Imy - thanks for organising another top run. You're both a credit to the Subaru community. The weather held out for the most part, and we were blessed with some great roads and great scenery to drive through. I hope my "medium" pace was just about right for everyone. The road from sanquhar to crawford john was absolutely quality and I couldn't help just nudging the loud pedal that wee bit further at times, but I tried to run it at a good rhythm and not mad dives on the brakes. That and the road out of Innerleithen were my own highlights of the day. And yes, I did lead my followers the wrong way twice. Once through crawford rather than the bypass, probably added 5 minutes on. Then took maybe a 5 mile detour as I missed the drumlanrigh turn, and then had to stop as I couldn't see if we were at full numbers. And the Slow group nipped passed us it seems. Oh the embarresment.

Bar, the evo is a nice car, but nothing sounds as good as a subaru in that price range. The noise will win you over as well as the other things you like.

Looks great Vicki. Quite near your bumper, might be worth getting a wee heat shield for it? Is it popping on the overrun too? I find on mine if you change down at low revs you're almost gauranteed a wee pop.

STI Beats Lambo, Skyline and Corvette???

Ah yes. His royal highness the drift king. His abilities to get round a corner at angles previously unheard of are second to none. -

The propeller styling has been ditched and the new car will be a 2008 model, and likely be a hatch back. http://www.speedsportlife.com/2006/09/13/s...-wrx-prototype/ That's supposed to be it.
