About H Wrx

  1. There were two "madders" at the front - a blue sti looked the quickest, (certainly sounded the best!) but didn't see any flames from anyone!! Probably right about playing but a 2.5 STI makes a good starting point to begin modding!!
  2. The 1,000 mile run in will be done in about 3 weeks so will be able to play then!! Anyone got any photo's from your run - saw a few getting taken??
  3. Have noticed the judder a wee bit in first but it is reverese that gets me (especially if turning at the time!). What do you think of the tyres it comes fitted with?? - got a feeling they will be pricey to replace..Oh well!
  4. Picked up my new black STI Type UK yesterday from Forfar and landed right in the middle of a convoy of Scoobies heading North - guutted couldn't play as the car had only done 26 miles at the time ....d'oh! Assume the convoy was made up from members from here?? Certainly some nice looking and sounding cars! First impressions of the STI very good - certainly seems a load quicker and smoother than my 54 WRX - 6 speed box going to take a bit of getting used to though - lost count of the number of 6th to 3rd changes in the first few miles!! Also makes one hell of a judder when you start reversing - anyone else noticed that (it says it does in the manual - something to do with the central diff but it does feel odd)!
  5. That's what I like to hear - must admit was always a bit disappointed in the WRX brakes - had a few scary moments going over the Lecht!
  6. After two years and 38,000 miles decided the WRX had to go to be replaced by a new STI - Couldn't believe when I was told there were only 5 available in the UK for registration before the end of the month (Free Fuel deal!) To add insult to injury there were only black and crysyal grey ones available. Didn't like the crystal grey so black it is!! Only problem is - T&C Aberdeen didn't have a demonstrator so I have bought one un-tested (Didn't buy it from T&C but that is another story!). Question is - how much of a performance difference will I notice from a standard 54 WRX to a 56 STI Type UK???
  7. Kens Garage (Kildary - about 5 miles south of Tain) sells Q8 high octane fuel (Ron 97). They only have one pump though (first one!)
  8. I'm working at Bi-Fab in Burntisland (needless to say only WRX in the car park) but staying in Edinburgh (just down from the Grassmarket) so am travelling backwars / forwards each day. Thank god for Company Expenses!!
  9. Working down in Edinburgh for a few weeks and have already noticed that the Scooby drivers down here are MUCH friendlier [] than Aberdeen [:$]. Got a wave from just about everyone!! Come on Aberdeen (you may have way more Scoobies but you are a miserable lot!)
  10. That car is the Town & County demonstrator !! So could have been anyone !!
  11. Road Angel fixed (in less than 5 days) by Blackspot for £25 - excellent service! Didn't like driving back from Knockhill on Sunday without it though !!
  12. D'oh - handed in my WRX to Town & County Subaru for its 30,000 mile service and they gave me a Seat Arosa 1.0 l!!![]
  13. The road angel has been excellent - It hasn't missed a fixed camera once (I do a lot of driving between Aberdeen / Glagow & Newcastle where there are loads of camera's) and it has saved me 3 or 4 times from mobile radars (hair dryers and mobile vans) as well - so I reckon it has been money well spent.
  14. Third thing just happened - Road Angel has stopped working ....D'oh !! Any more and it will be time for a new car (Fancy a Black 06 STI !!)
