We do never hear the end of it! Craig's posting like a man possesed about how good the car is. I jest big man, it is great and you (and wuz) should be very proud [] I don't think there's any question of "central scoobies". Scottish Scoobies as a whole proved they were the best car club in the country at crail, and were awarded as such. The 4 fastest scoobs on the day came from Tayside, Glasgow, Not sure about Andy N and then Craig from Aberdeen in his PROVEN fastest new age in Scotland. The best show and shine car, which was representing the SIDC, came from Ayrshire. And you tell us we're central scoobies? As has been said before CF - put up or shut up. Get your PROVEN runs from Crail, or a dyno printout from wallace and I'm sure we'll all gladly down a bottle of octane booster in your honor.

New age has 60 litre tank. What's the classic got?

I've had this dillema a few times in the last 6-8 months. I was doing 60 miles a day on the M8 bored stiff, and then it looked like regular trips down south were on the cards at maybe 400 mile roundtrips. Things worked out different and now I've changed my commute to 10 miles a day and longer on the train and she turned out to be loony tunes []. So now I have a car that I jump into at weekends and can really enjoy again because driving it is a privilege, not a chore. The project isn't finished, and even when it is, if it ever is, I don't think I'll be trading it in any time soon. If I really ask myself "what next?" then it'd have to be an STI in a couple of years. I don't see anything else on the market in my price range that really tempts me. I'm sure we'd all love a 911 turbo or GT3, or a ferrari, or a collection of cars like the sultan of brunei, but it's just not happening.

That was a nice car you had mate. You're welcome back on the SIDC days any time. I was talking to some of the lotus guys at the end of the day when getting my wheels changed over and they were saying the SIDC days were the best in terms of driving standards, machinery and organisation. A testament firstly to JohnS and secondly to the sidc as a whole.

New age cars are the three shapes of cars from 2001 onwards. You guys have a 56 plate which is known as the "hawkeye". Mine which is a 54 plate is a "blobeye" and the original 01-03 was the "bugeye" which has the round lights. Marty's bugeye is an STI with mods. I guess 250-260bhp out the factory for that age. Mine is just a WRX so 225 out the factory, 248 on the rolling road last month. The 06 was an STI, 265 out the factory maybe and the new 2.5 engine. Mine and marty's is just the 2.0. That help?

There was 3 new age black scoobs actually. Marty in the bugeye STI, me in the blob WRX and then someone in the hawkeye 06 STI. Plus a classic too. The evo was quick in a straight line, but he wimped out on a few of the corners.

No problem Craig, it was my pleasure. Hopefully see you on track next time.

I have a euro import and have had no problems at all, so that's not a worry. Chances of getting insurance without an alarm are nil. As far as mpg - I can get approx 25 when commuting and taking it easy, but then I got less than 10 at the trackday at the weekend. [6] I was doign a lot of miles in mine. I've had the car almost 2 years and done over 30K. It's not cheap to run, servicing intervals are every 10K, with intermediate oil changes a worthy investment too. BUT - the whole experience of owning one is MORE than worth it.

Thanks to Wuz,G.mac,G6RAY,Playstanan...........

3 Cowboys, a sailor and a woodland creature walk into a pitlane to find a stricken Chinese Restaurateur. Stop me if you've heard this one before..... I jest. The 555 special field servicing team to the rescue again. Have Subaru diagnosed and fixed the problem on G's car then? [] -
An "interior" on the falcon. You going soft in your old age wilky? I'm joking mate. Sounds like it'll be very nice. Lets just hope you can get a clutch that can keep up with you.
-
Lol. That's my general feeling too Craig. Especially at the exit of the Chicane. Fling it right and get on the power as it flies over the kerb and let the differentials sort it all out when it lands.
-
Did anyone follow the Red and White evo at all? I was behind it coming into the hairpin and it spat a constant flame the whole way from hitting the brakes until getting back on the power. It was class. Didn't seem THAT fast though.

You can post pictures without having an avatar. There's instructions in the forum questions forum.

Yes. CG-Lock asked to use my recommendation of their product on their website, and I suggested that I'd get a group of us to do it. So I meant to get all the happy CG-Lock users together at knockhill to get a wee group photo to send to cg-lock to put on their website. I remembered twice on saturday, once when understeering through McIntyres but being held quite comfortably in my seat and then again when I was standing talking with the lotus guys waiting to get my wheels changed and you lot had all left. So...... I'm thinking a wee montage might be the order of the day. Anyone that's a happy cg-lock user and doesn't mind endorsing/recommending the product find me a picture of your car preferably on track or in the pits with you in/at it, and that isn't copyrighted (ie. taken by one of the commercial photographers there) and I'll forward them on. Write a few words about it too if you want. Either post here or email st3ph3n AT st3ph3n DOT com

Hope you get everything sorted soon Vicki. I'm sure I speak for everyone when I say that we're all gutted about what happened and if anyone can help then I'm sure we'd try our best. You can't beat a good old fashioned Convoy, especially when it's full of Imprezas.

That fiesta looks well beaten up col, hope he's alright. That first legend picture is one of my cousins. Interesting route he's taking.

The human cannonball prepares for action. Once more into the breach.

It was the sierras round the outside. The run back with the expert was utterly insane. I loved it, but knowing what I know now I'd say a trackday in the scoob was much more fun.
-
Hope your mate's alright Col. What event was the accident in?
-
I've done the rally experience at Knockhill. Got it as a 21st present from my mates. Did it in 2002 when I only had a vectra and loved it. But taking the scoob round the main track is much more fun. Personally I think the rally circuit is a bit too tight and not long enough.

Great pictures Del. You got a wee thing for ferarris?
-
Is it an ECUTEK reflash that's getting done, or are you replacing the ECU with something different like the apexi power fc?
