I Finally Found it (Escort Cosworth vs Impreza Type R Video)
chris_c201 replied to STi_Bandit's topic in Scottish Scoobies
Nice clip although i would like to see the full spec for both cars cos it seems strange that they were equal seeing as it implied the cossie was modded and the type R wasn't...... -
Thats a lovely RS, i agree about the bonnet lifters but as you say, it is functional and only takes 2 mins to remove...... Dougster, buy the RS then giz a shot!!

Football, Gym and Squash.... Gym has taken a back seat just now cos i'm working a chunk of hours. I play 11's so train for that once a week, play 1 game a week, play 1 or 2 games of fives a week and 1 or 2 games of squash a week..... Geez, when i write that down i realise why my girlfriend moans!

Yep, ex Sainsbury's trolley boy here, 2nd the 10 at a time and straplock policy! Although there was always an ongoing competition to see who could keep control of the most although we done that once the store was closed!! Hope you get it sorted ASAP and properly!

Yep, same as every other walk of life, some numpties but generally decent.... I got stopped for speeding about 6 months ago, 2 traffic, 1 guy who stopped was a bit of a tool, and looking down his nose at me probably because of the car and the fact i'm fairly young..... 2nd guy who wrote up my ticket was really decent... After getting the ticket i stood there talking to him for about 5 minutes then walked away and said "thanks"... Only when i got in the car i realised i had essentially just thanked a guy for giving me 3 points and a £60 fine... just goes to show what a difference a decent attitude makes, if the first guy wrote up my ticket i would have been walking away muttering something under my breath!!

Scary stuff... I was going to come on and post last night after seeing a white classic flooring it round a corner going onto pollockshaws road about 9pm in the wet.. he slid out and ended up whipping the car left and right trying to re-gain control. It made me think about the stupid things people do taking major chances on public roads... On the other hand though who knows the circumstances to this crash and it needn't necessarily have been that the guy was pushing on..... Regardless its a real shame and an eye opener for people who think their infallible !

Lovely looking car... nice pics!

Nice one Graeme... What you done since last time?? Are you still on the VF34?

Don't quote me on this and i'm sure someone more technically minded will come along but... I would think you are best just to use a high quality oil, the right grade and change it regularly than use an additive... again thats my understanding but i'm sure someone will have a more technically minded view....

Looks like the 205 is the one to have then! It'll be late spring / summer before i'm looking anyway..... need something to get me through driving a big boat of a diesel every day!

Adam, Your prolly a good man to ask cos you have driven the scoob and the gti, is the GTi as good as they say cos i've never driven one... not expecting anything like the push into the seat of a scoob or anything but i just want something that when stiffened up and stripped out is heaps of fun on track... The appeal of the Pug is that i've never been on track and for around £1.5k i can buy one, upgrade the necessary and get on track then if i get a bit carried away and smash it its not the end of the world!! Must admit i have a real thing for RS Turbo's...! My options for a 2nd car next year are - 205 GTi 1.9 - R5 GTT - Rover 220 Turbo Coupe (outside bet) - Old Classic Scoob..... Any critique on above, or other suggestions? My budget is anywhere between about £1 and £3.5k although i would rather spend less on purchase and use the money to upgrade brakes and suspension then throw in a couple of buckets....

As most of you know i did the sensible thing and got rid of my bugeye WRX about 2-3 months ago now for a bit Mondeo Diesel.... The other night i passed a Classic who was giving it some and the burble sounded lovely.... then yest there was a DBM (same as my old car) classic in my car park at work and it were lovely.... Ah well... next year when i get my track car things will be better... just hope i can stretch my budget to a type ra or something, cheaper alternative being a 205 gti or last option is an old beetle, spend a year or so upgrading suspension, brakes etc etc then drop a scoob engine in it.. only issue is my mechanical skills are "decent" but never tried anything like that, plus from reading i think there is a fair bit of fabrication in the engine bay and again thats outwith my skillset... We will see....

Took a look and can't seem to find it... would have passed on the receipt when selling the car as well.... i'll take a look again later and see if i have anything in the house....

Superb video.. some lovely cars n superb driving... Real shame about the spectators but when you see them all standing on the track over a blind summit you have to think it was inevitable..
-

Superb replacement, always loved the ZXR!!

Sorry to hear your news Vicki, at least Peter is okay.... If you have the details of the other guys involved (via police) and they were charged i'm pretty sure you can do something through the insurance ombudsman, not quite sure of specifics...... Hope you get at least some of the costs back.......
-
TBH i think the private market for Scoob's is pretty quiet at the moment anyway mate.... I struggled to sell my WRX which was a turbo! Hope you get it sold ASAP mate

Russell, I don't have a subaru anymore so don't really stand to lose anything if you shut up shop but i still have to add to what has already been said. I asked you a couple of questions in the past and you came back with full, precise and honest answers, some of them probably taking you a fair amount of time to write which i genuinely appreciated, as you've said i never got the impression that it was a "job" for you.......... I hope you can take the positives here and use them to drive you on rather than letting the "proffesionals" get you down.. I know if i go back to scooby ownership (which i may well do next year) i would definitely be interested in using BHP Developments for some work.....

Can't think of another word, think Inspirational is the only one that begins to sum it up.
