  1. Depends on the spec of your car vs the spec of his. You may be luckcy and it's a straight swap. Worse case would be you remove the gear set from his box and drop it into yours. Speak to Kenny for a ballpark price and you know your max price. Don't forget to include £50 for oil.
  2. It may have to be opened up anyway as the diff ration may not be the same as your rear. This is small beer though compared to getting the kit at the right price in the first place.
  3. I remember that day, had a ball. It was us two in the final and there was less that a car length in it. Think there was meant to be an MLR/SIDC grudge match but they must have been washing their hair that day.
  4. Yup, spotted that one too. Too quick for me to post though.
  5. On your marks, get set..........................GO! http://bbs.scoobynet.com/private-sale-gene...pg-gearbox.html

  8. Do you need to pay for those? I thought there were just to let dealers wriggle of out honoring body warranty claims?
  9. Fook sake Andy, if I knew you were free on Sunday I'd have come through and got mine done as well
  10. Not quite, but all of that for a five speed would be. Think 4 figures and then some. And then the vat. Ouch.
  11. Amen brother. I could have bought a new gearbox, rear diff and driveshafts for less.
  12. You still running a maf? Looks like those may scoop in rain as well as air and short it out of you do.
  13. Might be counting my chickens here but I've had a word with Dastek about getting a power run on my car. For £70 + vat you get 2 back to back power runs but if we get a few cars done at the same time the costs come down. If we can get 6 cars it'll only be £45 plus the vat, if more than that want in I guess I could go back and ask for a better price. The only snag is it would be Monday to Friday 9 - 5, weekends are out. Would be aiming to sort it out in about a months time, if you're interested put your name below and when would suit and we'll take it from there. 1 - Playsatan 2 -
  14. Shouldn't be a problem. From what i've heard john's famous for being a tightar$e.
  15. Was going to speak to Gerry about renting out the rollers for a few hours and getting a few power runs done. I'll see what he says and report back if anyones interested.
  16. I got loads of waves the other night in the petrol station, and not just from Subaru drivers. My new heat wrap was smoking up a storm and as I pulled up at a pump. Grown men where seem running away in terror, the guy filling up at the next pump lost the power of speech and the girls behind the counter were dialing 999. Is that subtle enough for you?
  17. I ran a standard 5 speed with a fair bit more going through it but it was an STI 5 one. Using the right oil and treating it right can make all the difference too.
  18. Just how much power is your car putting out these days or is a case of operator abuse?

  20. Great news Pedro. So how does it stack up as a road car now? Is it too compromised or just the way you want it?
  21. Because of my starting point it was cheaper for me to fit a ppg.
  22. I believe it's 19mph/1krpm but you're right that the theoretical tops speeds are about the same. The difference is the subaru has the poke to see them easliy. Also the subaru's is calculated on 16's, up the rolling radius to the same as the civic and you'll be going even faster. On 17's and standard gearing I had a gps confirmed 160. I think the bushy tailed one may still have it on video.
  23. Forrester box = 2.5 sti 6 speeder if that helps
  24. Never heard of spark plug filters. I'm no newage expert but believe that the 04 has coil packs. These are not service items and would only be replace if faulty. Could it be a pollen filter they are referring to?
  25. What do you mean, speed or power?
