  1. well. I hot footed it home and gave the car a quick once over. All looked well, no chucks out of the alloys, no bits of hedge stuck in the grill, no pools of oil under it. The only major damage was to my back when i tried to squeere into the seating position she had left it in. Don't think she'll be borrowing it again. Apparently it,s "a bit loud". Her daily driver is turbo charged btw, a diesel mondeo.
  2. Thanking my lucky starts it's only on a low power map at the mo until I can sort out a few issues so only running circa 500 bhp. Mind you it does have the dccd set to fully open.
  3. Update - can't get her on her mobile. Bricking it.
  4. Sitting at work and ten minutes ago the phone rings, it's the missus telling me she's just went outside and her cars got a flat tyre. She doesn't have time to change it (like she'd have a clue anyway) and she's late for our daughters school sports day, can she take the subaru??? :D :P :o After a 4 minute conversation about "how do you start it" and what does that button do and me hearing her rev the t!ts off it as she pulled it out of the garage I'm sitting here fearing the worst. Should I tell my boss I have an emergency at home and rescue my beloved from my beloved or am I being paranoid?
  5. Simon, it'll just be a print out of this http://www.crailraceway.co.uk/select_run.a...unDate=20080525
  6. Agreed, I know they ran out parts on some models so you cannot be sure what you've got. I suppose my block may have been swapped out at some point also. The pistons were sti 5 though, what design was in the P1 block.
  7. Don't want to disagree Alan but my sti 5 was semi open. All info I have found is that the engines are mechanically identical.
  8. Me likey
  9. Anyone else seen this
  10. Need a bit more info on what exactly you're going to do. When you say engine do you mean short block, long block full engine and sensors etc. The cars are virtually the same so the devil is in the detail.
  11. Buy on condition and vet the owner as much as the car. Be especially careful to check for crash damage as they can be a bit of a handful. Oh yes and make sure you get a decent test drive as they're not to everyones liking.
  12. Speak to the squiggle, he fitted a sti5 top mount onto a version one. Not sure if he's recommend fitting a square peg into a slanty hole again.
  13. Looks mint. No roof flap on the v1's?
  14. Always thought of us as a couple of "C"'s myself John.
  15. I suspected that too Alan. But why lie about it if you're sure to be found out?
  16. Exactly. The injectors I ordered were describes as in stock and next day delivery for a little extra. If he'd have said 3 weeks from now I'd have either bought them and booked a realistic mapping date or went elsewhere. I've spent thousands on my car since then but not one penny of it at flat4online. I'd rather pay more than deal with someone who takes your money, dodges your attempts to contact him and send out the parts whenever he feels like or more likely whenever he's ordered them in himself.
  17. Decent prices but would not recommend him if you need the parts quickly. Yes some people get them the next day but lots of reports of looooong timelines and broken promises. When I bought injectors from him I paid extra for next day delivery, they turned up 3 weeks later (2 days before my mapping session was due) and I could not get hold of him at all whist waiting for them.
  18. Ones for him, ones for the passenger.
  19. Yip, not like the good old days.
  20. You've gone soft on us Jon. Pull out the stereo and stick it in there. Who needs tunes anyway?
  21. Mt first attempt Sucky picture but I wasn't taking a pic of the avcr, should give you an idea though. and my lasted attempt, No certain it's gonna stay there though as I may be ditching it for different boot control. Post a pic of your dash if you're looking for suggestions as they're not all the same (jap and uk's anyway)
  22. Was referring to Grant there John. If he has a 2.5 six speed it has the same ratios as the forrester box. Very strong and excellent ratios. The gear set from the 95 would be compatible with your casing. If you're interested in buying it from this guy ask him what code is on the box. If it start ty752 it is the older style casing and while it shouldn't cause a problem it won't be as strong. If he's had it built into a newer ty754 casing thats a big plus. The box you have just now should be a 754 and if you wanted you could take the internals out of the ppg and install them into your casing for the best of both worlds. You'd also need to ask him about diff ratios too to see if they match with your car.
  23. Is yours a 2.5 though? Different ratios again for that.
