<< Was not about to watch the final and only heard about the skyline winning in the end, did anyone know what happened to Andys car? maybe Andy was tired of hogging all the glory and gave some one else a turn he he he. >> To quote Andy.... "In the final I somehow got the box stuck in 2nd gear until I was on the return road back round when it came out again ok ! " Unlucky, but I'm sure breaking the 10 barrier a few times was enough for Andy to go home a happy man! Good job

<< see how many exhuasts he fits to this one LOL >> He's already been vulturing after my scoobysport back box!! Welcome back though bud - about time !!!

Sorry I couldn't make it along chaps (and chapesses). Still no car, and had to work late tonight . I suspected that might happen (which is why I didn't put my name down for it). Hope y'all enjoyed yourselves though. Dave

<< I'd be careful with a Chinese airline though - they're not noted as being the tallest of nationalities so their idea of extra legroom might not be the same as ours! >> LOL !!! Good point mate !!! It's the extra pampering I like, I have to admit - I'm not exactly a harlem globetrotter myself to be honest !! Found this site after I posted the question though, which is quite useful. Just like you say Stephen, seems to depend very much on the airline. http://www.westernair.co.uk/seatpitch.html Typically the airline in question doesn't have any figures listed !! Consequently I've gone for the safe option and paid another £100 for a 'real' business class ticket with KLM just in case

Surely with all you offshore workers flying long distances every month, some of you must have sampled Premium Economy flights?? Are they close to Business Class, or are they jsut a standard seat with a bit more leg room? Been offered some excellent fares on an upcoming trip, but want to check I'm gettting something worthwhile! The airline is Chinese Eastern BTW ! Dave

Extra Knockhill date, Thursday 15th September 5pm to 7pm
dave_morgan replied to johns's topic in Scottish Scoobies
Should that be September John?? -
Anybody heard of or dealt with these guys? .... http://www.warrantywise.co.uk or any other 3rd party warranty companies who actually pay out when you make a claim?
-
Check over on the P1 owners site too... www.p1woc.co.uk Bound to be a few people in the know over there too..

It depends which brakes he's got fitted. If it's the standard P1 brakes (the black 4 pots) he should have no problem. I'm guessing however it's the upgraded prodrive jobbies from what you're saying - in which case godspeed may be your best option. If he's still got a warranty on the car, he should check with the warranty company that these parts won't invalidate his warranty though!! Sounds stupid perhaps, but I've heard of cases where unrelated parts have invalidated warranty claims on P1's !! Dave

FOR SALE - STI5 BODYKIT(COOL GREY) & bits
dave_morgan replied to jason_waterson's topic in Scottish Scoobies
If the mirrors are the foldy-in ones, and the headlight is the clear lens (crystal) style, I'll take them. Should be if they're from an sti5. Switch on your PM facility and we can arrange something. -
Must have been a nice surprise Grant! At least you know what you can go back to if the extra mods make it too laggy! Nice one ! Dave

<< Something that my local dealer near Edinburgh should try. Polite and courteous service. >> Who is the next nearest dealer to Edinburgh after the obvious one?
-
All you need now is a playstation steering wheel and a set of pedals !!

Welcome aboard!

<< been contemplating buying the extra 2 yr extended warranty, seems like becoming better value every week... >> Hmmm, well make sure you have absolutely NOTHING changed from standard trim then!! I extended mine a year ago and have just found out that a set of samco hoses and a dump valve has invalidated the warranty (for a head gasket failure). Not a happy bunny taking into account how much I've spent on the warranty and dealer servicing to retain the warranty (or so I thought) !

Does anyone know what happened to the guys up at Outrun in Falkirk? Toying with the idea of keeping the Skyline and getting some bits done to it and was thinking I'd use them, but can't find any trace of them now ! Anyone???? Dave

p.s. Might be worth nipping down to Macro and picking up one of those booster/starter things. They're only about 20 quid and means you can start your car anywhere, even if there's not other cars or mains supply nearby.

I suspect your battery is past it's best to be honest, as it should hold a charge for more than 10 days, even with alarm/tracker etc. That's asuuming it's gettig a good charge in between starts of course. If it's under warranty I'd ask the dealer for advice. It could be : - Tired battery. - Alternator not charging as it should. - You're not driving far enough in between starts to allow the battery to charge fully (particularly if you're driving a lot at night with lights on). Dealer should be able to check the battery for you and I wouldn't have thought they'd charge (no pun intended) you for it. Be VERY carful with your warranty though as it seems they will find any reason to invalidate it these days!! Dave

Absolutely.... We'll be there cheering you on Andy - give it some.....

The point I was trying to make there was that as well as identifying that there might be a requirement for an RO, there's also the job of finding a suitable volunteer who can donate the time to do the job.
-
<< Do you mean a Regional Organiser? If the numbers are there, of course the club will look at having a local representative. >> Bear in mind that the Regional Organisers aren't paid to do the job, they are just fanatics who like to donate their time. I take my hat of to them all, as I know how much time organising a simple karting event can take up, let alone some of the bigger stuff. (Hat off also to the guys organising the runs, as I know they sometimes get overlooked but also put a lot of time and effort in).
