Thanks mate. I'm still lovin the Audi. Probably not quite as agile as the scoob on the tight twisties, but not far behind and absolutely awesome on a fast A road. Brakes are amazing too, which helps make up for the extra weight it's carrying. Not sure what I'll go for next, but it's a keeper for now! We had a wee boy (Glen) on the 16th March and he's doing great, as is Jane. Every says he's my double - poor wee sod !!

Been out the loop for quite a while, and just wanted to say hi to my old buddies, and another hi to any newbies I've not met yet. Yep, that would be my approach. If he's genuine, he won't have a problem. I had a guy from Switzerland wanting to buy my Skyline last month and he started asking for all sorts of info I wasn't happy giving away to a stranger so I asked him for a copy of his passport/id. He sent it no problem, and his email address showed me where he worked too. Saying that after we agreed a deal, we went back on it, so no guarantees even after jumping through hoops! That's 4 times I've (verbally) sold the Skyline now, and everytime it falls at the last hurdle (before they've even seen the forking car!!). I'm now getting really ratty with buyers and telling them I'm not holding it or turning anyone away unless there's a deposit in the bank. Another viewer coming on Friday though (from Holland) so fingers crossed, otherwise it's on Autotrader next week.

I used to organise events down there all the time, but it started getting difficult to get enough people together to meet their minimum. The last one I got involved with (picked up what someone else started but then couldn't be bothered to complete) had 50 posts saying they intended on going, so I booked it and we ended up with less than 10!! (and quite a few of them we're my mates who I pulled in to make up numbers). It was a few years ago though, so maybe it is time for another. If you do organise it though, make sure you get deposits from everyone early before you book it! Just my tuppence! Great day out though - I have to agree!

Looking for some modifications to be done to to an existing app that was written in VB a few years back. Anyone out there available for a few weeks work? You'll get better acceleration, but you're speedo will read wrong (it'll read over). Over 3% difference in diameter between the 45 and the 40 series. Sparks should never escape from within the distributor or leads, so as Brian says, it sounds like the insulation in one of them is breaking down. Perhaps a small crack in the cap ??

p.s. I tend to use 30psi all round. Road and track. Last thing you need is a car behaving totally differently when you're pushing to the limit (IMHO!).

Remember your pressures change hugely when the tyres get hot. Setting them to 30psi after you've been on track may be the equivalent of 25 or 26 when cold. The tyres also won't heat up at the same rate. The outers will likely get hotter, and read higher after you've been out.

No, I don't think any classic came with Brembos as standard. The only brake upgrade I know about was the Alcon's on the P1. I haven't seen any non-sti's with the sti ic either (apart from ones upgraded by the owner of course!)

I'm afraid my buggy is neither classic or newage, as the P1 sold last week. I'll be in my new toy! I'm 50/50 on making it however, as I have a meeting to fit into tonight at some point, with some bods who have flown up from London to see me. I can either make the 7 o'clock rendezvous, or somewhere later, but not both, or the run being realistic. Any decisions made on the after run venue? Dave
