  1. Cheers lads. Johnny
  2. Anyone know who the guy is from cumbernauld who does good prices and service on tyres? Tried a search but can't find the post. Cheers, Johnny
  3. Actually it's not too daft. You can flush water through the engine if you don't run it. I do this once a year with gunk degreaser then wash it out before replacing the oil. my engine is sparkling on the inside as well as the outside. Johnny
  4. 2 of the loudest i've heard are the blitz nur spec r without the bung and the apexi system on playsatan's car. I nearly bought a 3" straight through system with no baffles at all but thought better of it. If you get one with removable baffle you can have the best of both worlds. Johnny.
  5. I had the same prob with toyo's, after some research and speaking to a couple of chassis tuners they rekon there is a bit of flex in the wall so they move slightly on the rim. This is exactly what i was feeling, the car seemed unpredictable on turn in then settled. grip wasn't bad but confidence in the twisties was not great. I tried playing with the pressures and found for me, running 3 to 4 psi more helped. On a 215/40/17 i run 37psi front and 34 rear. Johnny
  6. Niiice Johnny
  7. My wife said i should wash my car as it's a discrace. I don't think it's too bad so thought i'd get your opinions on this argument. Pics... So options are: Wash your car ya minger You got another month at least yet Stop these pointless threads and get a life
  8. I think 600 would be a bit pessimistic with the new set up as he's prob not too far off that at the mo. Johnny
  9. I personally prefer new engine oil.. Don't use vegetable oil, especially the used stuff. :waving-santa: Johnny
  10. That was a damn fine car, will be good to see it getting some use again Johnny
  11. Ahhh, now i know why you've ordered that turbo... I thought you were going mad Oh, answer yer phone Johnny.
  12. Ah, the mk1 fiesta! now there is a quality pile of ****!!! You sellin the red one? Johnny
  13. Has the sliders seized? you may have the piston all the way in but the slider may not. Johnny

  16. Good news Cal, enjoy. I'm sure it should get into the 12's as my totally standard car did a 13.3 and Pedal's car has more power than mine. Johnny
  17. Excellent work good sir, you deserve a medal. Johnny
  18. Not at all, if your not sure it's best to ask. Johnny Want mine???
  19. We need more of this kinda stuff... Fantastic! Johnny
  20. For my pennies worth, the same all round... 1. The McRae Gathering Team - Grant, Imy and Andy 2. Imy - For the highland Runs. 3. John S - organsiing the sidc track days and maybe.. 4. Playsatan for the longest rebuild on ss.. Johnny
  21. I take it this is after your rebuild. If so the fuel is not an issue it's the oil that is. You don't want to start a freshly built engine with no oil pressure. I would ( if possible) keep the plugs out, disconnect the crank sensor and turn it over until the oil pressure light goes out. At the very least disconnect the crank sensor and as playsatan says crank it till the oil light goes out. Johnny
  22. Also remember bikes are not that cheap, ins. is usually more (than a small car anyway) tyres don't last long ( i get 5k out of mine commuting, used to get less than 2k when playing), and servicing every 4k ish, clothing etc. Although in saying that i still prefer to commute with the bike than car. Johnny
  23. Well her's a pic, not the best as off my phone, but you get the idea.. John, the reason i made it quieter as after 5 years of having to practically shout to passengers, having to put the stereo up to near max just to hear it and not being able to hear the kids when they were in the back i decided to tone it down a bit. i got rid of the 5" tailpipe as i'm too old for the chav look now. And besides maybe playsatan will answer his door now.... Johnny
  24. I can't get good pics without stripping bits off but here are a couple of pics. This is the oe knock sensor (highlighted by red circle) it's to the right of the throttle body when looking from the front (green cross) mounted to the block. Here is my knocklink sensor (bolt shown by red circle) it's hard to see because of the pipes but it's sited behind and further right than the oe sensor, there is a threaded bolt hole on the block here which is ideal. Yur pic is of the pcv. Hope these help, Johnny
  25. Well finally got round to organising the fitting of the Meercat back box i won in the raffle at Peter's night. I got rid of the 5" tailpipe for a more subtle 3" with a slightly bigger baffle so it's not as loud either. To say i'm over the moon with the end result is an understatement. Big thanks to the boys at Meercat who couldn't have been any nicer and to Peter for the night. Cheers, Johnny
