  1. He runs a spacer, i want to redo the bells but he's happy with the 3mm spacer. If you think those wheels are nice you should see his spares. Johnny
  2. It certainly doesn't look that clean now.... Johnny
  3. Sounds like the pcv, no touchy! Unfortunately i won't be near my car till the weekend but if your still not sorted i'll send you some pics of the offending items connected. You should have a black metal water pipe running from one side to the other underneath the inlet manifold with a couple of outlets, this connect to the header tank. (iirc) Johnny
  4. Both sensors are knock sensors, the oe one (first sensor pic) and an aftermarkt one for the knocklink. Both need to be bolted securely to the block. The bottom pipe on the header tank attaches to the black crossover water pipe, you should have a curved water pipe to mate the two. The other pic (pic 2) looks like one of the crankcase breather outlets, (iirc) this connects to a sort of y connector (black pipe with 2 inlets on one side and 1 outlet on the other) with a small breather pipe. Johnny
  5. It could be your coolant bottle is slightly loose and rattling whith the vibration from your fans. Or maybe not..... Johnny
  6. Have you tried Andy?? and not andy f by the way. Johnny
  7. Most of the above comes standard on an sti2 (buckets, short shift and carbon strut brace to name a few). A lot of the jap mapped cars are mapped to get the best out of them on jap fuel which has a higher octane rating than uk fuel so they don't like it over here. My sti2 came with a zero sports chip which had to be removed as it was detting on v power. Sound as a pound now though. Johnny
  8. Hello there! and welcome to the mad house. Johnny
  9. I would just like to say a huge thankyou to Grant, Imy and Andy and all the others for the amount of effort they put in to making the McRae gathering weekend into one of the most unforgettable i will ever have. The amount of work you have put into this is mindblowing and considering the amount of cars running in the convoy and at both venues it ran so smoothly. I have never seen three people so stressed out before and all for the love of subaru's and the man himself. Well done and THANKYOU!! Johnny
  10. Got any pics? could be the oil return (under the turbo) or feed (on top). The white smoke could be oil getting in due to burst oil seal. what year of car? Johnny
  11. A Driver?? Sorted! Johnny
  12. If your on a budget good quality oe rear discs from say camskill with decent pads i.e ferrodo ds2500's will be more than up to the job. Also as emoe says give the calipers a once over. You say it's down on power, before you worry too much get it checked out as it may be fine it's just you need to get used to the power delivery and a well looked after car will not lose any noticable power at only 60k. My car, with 90k made 290 bhp with only a decat downpipe. I was really dissapointed with my first shot of my 96 sti and felt it was nowhere near as quick as i'd expected but as i'm used to it now It still feels slow. Johnny
  13. You took your time. Johnny
  14. All that money and effort and you still got to push the feker A bit like colins Johnny
  15. Great night as usual Peter, fantastic amount raised and the backbox couldn't have been timed better. Cheers all, Johnny.
  16. f painting the ap logo... let me grind it off... more wheel clearance, cooler brakes, and your face would be a picture Nice water trail there m8. Johnny
  17. I've never heard of 289mm, but it may be for the non turbo sport, for the turbo cars the subaru four pots usually have a disc around 295mm and the brembo (gold) four pots have a disc around 320mm (iirc). Best bet would be to measure the disc but i rekon if it's the four pot caliper with subaru written down it it'll be more likely a 295mm disc. Johnny
  18. In that case they are worth a try. Seemed very reasonable with my other cars. I don't mot the scoob anyway, don't use it enough. Johnny
  19. You got a cat? If so quick fix at the end of law seem decent enough guys. Used them for the family cars but they won't do me scoob Johnny
  20. Not a clue.. but zerosports and veilside spring to mind. Johnny
  21. I may say keep the wrx.... If you use your car mainly as a road car (doing decent miles) and it's your only car then, the wrx will be easier to live with. You also know it's running sweet now. But, if you want the best car for track use and are prepared to sacrifice the extra comfort the ra is what you want. Why don't you take the ra for a spin and all will become clear my son.... Johnny Imy... why wait till it's broken??
  22. I just dunno what to say... Excellent post. Johnny
  23. And for the less mechanical minded that's righty- tighty, lefty- loosy Johnny
  24. Brake stoppers are good.. Unless they get in the way of your turbo.... Johnny
  25. Very nice, 1 question though... Who the F fitted foglights to an ra??? Glad to see they are gone Johnny
