I believe I am correct in saying that due to interference by the useless Financial Services Authority, no manufacturers now provide extended warranties, as they would have to go through all the hoops and massive expense of needing to register as an actual insurer. When the three year Subaru warranty on our WRX expired, I arranged a warranty recommended by Subaru. Within a few months, the front struts failed at 20,000 odd miles and despite representations by Subaru customer relations and our trusted dealer, they refused to pay a penny, using the age old get out of ware and tear. Considered the option of respected warrany provider Warranties Direct who offer cover without a wear and tear exclusion, but the cost was just too expensive - £1,200 springs to mind. Now running without cover and resigned to the credit card when something goes wrong. Last Xmas's failure of the secondary air pump and its components cost us a cool £987!!
