About fruity555

  1. Thanks as always for the warm welcome! I'd like to take all the credit for it being this clean...but a friend with a rotary polisher does seem to help!
  2. Thanks buddy, hopefully get to see everyone's in the flesh at the shows and meets
  3. I will be sure to keep an eye on the Midlands section, I'm sure I'll have plenty of questions at some point thanks fr the welcome!
  4. I grew with wallis above me. If it's true and the Russians do have the record I think us Brits, the ones who made the Subaru's such icons thanks to the two great British rally drivers McRae and Burns, should take it as a matter of pride to get it back! I was also on the original McRae gathering as a passenger and to be part of these things gives such a buzz. It's what Subaru ownnerahips is all about. And I'm sure along with myself there would be plenty willing to help out with the organising.
  5. Thank you for the kind welcome and I'm sure I'll be seeking your advice somewhere along the lines. As for mods, with it being limited edition I want to keep mods minimal and the car as original as possible...but the cheeky HKS dump valve on it since purchase does wet the appetite! Ah yes blue is quicker, but only because I'll be dodging puddles and mud to try and keep it shiny! haha
  6. I must admit I was after a hawkeye spec c before deciding on this, so glad I did though as great folks like you give them so much attention! and yes the colour is amazing when clean. as for I would be flattered if you did this at the show, certainly would make my first appearance with you guys very special but a handshake or thumbs up will suffice haha
  7. Thanks for the welcome! yes she's very shiny, luckily got a friend who does a great job on cars so let him have it and then I just keep on top of it washing and waxing it. Yes I've heard of the group and all good things, just getting started on the forums but I'll be checking out the local sections. I'm sure you have something posted in the midlands area section yes? We have started our own small group oswestry and border scoobies and get good turnouts so I'll be sure to mention it and we will all meet up some time.
  8. Yeah there's quite a few in this area and they all wave, good to see that after all this time the significant number of these great cars are still owned by true enthusiasts and polite ones.
  9. Thanks pal! Yeah she looks lovely, and nice in standard trim so no need to spend anything else on her...just keep it shining!
  10. Thank you for the welcome, look forward to meeting you guys
  11. hey guys, just dropping in to say hello finally joined here after 7 months of RB ownership. i'm only 22 (21 when purchased ) so quite young to be in one of these but after 2 years of spending faaar too much on a 106 GTi i thought the money be best off put towards running something worth spending a fortune on. grew up with scoobies as my dad owned a classic estate and 3 STI's (quite lucky to say the first car i ever drove was one of these! ) looking forward to hearing from all the pleasant guys and gals on here. through people talking to my dad about his cars and now people stopping me to ask about mine i've always had great experiences with fellow owners and enthusiasts so it's a privilege to be a part of such a great community. as far as i can contribute, enclosed you will find my current doodling project so if enough people were interested enough i'm sure i could manage to find the time to draw someone else's pride and joy...for a small fee of course will post a pic once it's finished but here's a couple of along the way shots to show the process and detail these CARicatures have. I'm an easy going guy, open to all comments and questions. looking forward to meeting you all along the way. also find attached a few pics of the pride and joy, the one picture of my dad's 330s taken in the reflection of the RB cheers, Phil. P.S oh yeah...the nickname is Fruity!
