  2. thanks robert just tried scottish subarus - very helpful chap, but nothing in stock. also never knew about this nengun place, mmmm. nice site amazing price too, but unfortunately they don't seem to have any used parts for my car. continuing thanks....
  3. thats some mod, to get it to hover like that.
  4. Hi robert, its a 98 jdm! C.
  5. as title really.. started having limp mode problems yesterday after speed needle died, and engine light coming on. I've asked all the experts I know and nobody seems able to solve this or offer advice. Can the thing be opened up and fixed or do I have to spend £100 on a replacement one. (through trying to find one that redlines at 7.5k and with right mileage will be impossible.) thank you all Chris.
  6. ..and the engine light will come on when you get it back: nooooooo! ~?%& my engine light is to do with a fecked speedometer, it was drivable until this morning though, but its just going into limp mode now, so no track for me today Chris.
  7. Driver breifing was 845 big man! My engine lights come on On the way up. hopefully get on track a bit later though. Once I've figured it out.
  8. haha, yeah I remember actually swearing never to go back to another hot hatch day because of it. still going up though If anyone fancies a pax i'm in the grey classic so come and say hello.
  9. those casa blancas are so tragic.. lol.
  10. very tempted to go on track tomorrow.. mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. is it going to be full of nutters tomorrow? Chris.
  11. thanks kenny, we shall head to cameron house for lunch and await further tips! if i can get a signal on my phone to check, that is i';m still in edinburgh so will be a while. Chris.
  12. Can anyone suggest please a nice daytrip drive out from glasgow somewhere for me and my girlfriend today? As summer is here, so we are inclined to drive pointlessly about, I think we should sticky a map of our fav driving roads so whenever you feel like a drive you can just pick a route off it. like this.. some Best Driving routes The neatest way to to add a route click edit, then select draw line across roads tool, then save. I'll tidy off the excess pins if folks like the resource. Today I might head up Loch Lomond way, but are there any nice routes off the main road that somebody knows off hand. maybe somewhere with a view or restaurant at the end .. thanks!! Cheers, Chris
  13. happy birthday mr. bus
  14. I'll do that, thanks colin! Come summer proper I'll get back to you. Cheers, Chris.
  15. I want this in my life. Colin, could we arrange a day where we can all stand around chattin and smoking tabs, to watch watch you do a group-buy's worth of engine bays. do you travel east?
  16. yeah I would have thought so too, (it was purely frustration that I carried on doing that) but its only as broken as it was when I started!
  17. So you think its doable with a normal spanner without taking the DP off? It seemed that there was only a few degrees of travel before the spanner knocks into something. I ended up mole gripping the plastic plug housing on the top, but that just turns and turns.
  18. I'm not entirely sure it IS the speedo sensor, but here's the trouble - Every time I come to a stop, the speedo needle shoots up to 30-40 mph and its adding the miles onto my odometer! Its really really frustrating when your shuffling along in traffic and 1 actual mile can show up as 20.. arghh.. So I've salvaged my old speedo sensor off my old 5 speed box (its 6 speed in the car now but they look the same) But sw couldn't swap it 'while-I-wait' cos the engine was too hot. I tried myself to much swearing and huffing. Is there anyone in the leith area that could possssssibly lend a friendly hand? In theory it only needs a 17mm spanner, but in practice it looks to me like the downpipe needs to be removed to get in there. Does anyone have experience or any tips in the matter? I tried just removing the plug on it, which I can thoroughly NOT recommend Chris.
  19. Dont know what sort of car you can tell its quick.. probably about the right speed in banana terms though ay grant must get up there soon.. in the meantime i'll have to make do with the road to moffat, also road-tax worthy. Chris.
  20. yeah true that - is funny tho, some of the comments are class, Q: Has it ever been raced or rallied .. A: me race, u kiddin me. It been ragged man. no lawyer in the land could get your money back if it was fecked! , lol. and how much is the winning bid gonna be!? tidy profit ..

  25. After writing a complaint letter to the BBC i'm glad to see a little bit more (honest) coverage of late, relevant here, so, some very rational agruments put forward by michael portillo on the BBC's programme "this week" tonight. I urge you to have a look at the first 10 mins, for anyone else concerned about how the BBC are covering it.. http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b00pb...eek_10_12_2009/
