thats pretty well how it goes in my mind, too. pah, bat, bosh - move over! mwah ha ha.. aye but he's a cleverer man than I and probably used some fancy witchcraft to get them under a classic? might be wrong though.
-
yes spec 2! how the hell does one get 888's on a classic without wide arch kits et al. they don't seem to do a 215/18 variety.
-
Yeah I don't know what these 400+ scoobys must be like to drive, cos mine feels to me about the right power for the car, more's just greedy lol ;0 they were yoko paradas, superb tyres! would dearly like to try the 888's though sometime

obviously driven by a ninja

Andy, while you're here.. Can you lend your opinion on the Surge type behaviour at 0:56 seconds on the video? not pulling amazing G's, and the tank was 3/4 full.. Steve said it might be a problem. And by the way, I feel I couldn't have asked for anything better to drive about the ring. sweet map.
-
Cheers Andy yeah, afer trying absolutely everything - it turned out to be the first thing I tried! Who'd have bet i'd replace a faulty sensor with another faulty sensor.
-
you did it blind?? sorry... must've been pretty exciting doing it without knowing any of the layout! i totally recommend to others reading this to get many laps in on playstation, and correlate with you tube vids. i heard of lots of anecdotes whilst there that the first words people speak after a crash is "it wasn't like that on playstation". even so, i found it very useful.
-
did you manage a clear (ish) lap at all mate? when I go back next its likely to be high season.
-
it was really quiet on track, but car park was still pretty full! just because it was november, and most people (i guess) were worried about weather conditions so didn't make the trip there. It snowed on the tuesday after I left so we were incredibly lucky with weather really! The quiet track was a total blessing, I've seen vids where you have to constantly be moving out of the way for traffic.. how do you get a clean lap in then! i've been watching it back too.. I WANNA GO BACK!!!

Today, mudflaps - next week, a garret gt480..you'll see! its a slippery slope to scoobyville my friend enjoy it! yes by the way I reckon mudflaps! welcome! if you get a wave from a grey classic with a yellow stripe in Edinburgh, thats me! Chris.

Police Tackle Dangerous Driving On Country Roads
soundie replied to StrikE's topic in Scottish Scoobies
average speed cameras are sooooo annoying everybody staring at their tom tom's in an angry procession. i sneezed once and blipped the throttle to 52mph, was worried for a couple of weeks after that. bmw's claiming their tiny victories by travelling at a steady 54.9 mph (well done btw) i remember some school kid won some inventions prize for making a box that goes into cars and limits your speed to the prescribed area - they were talking like it was going to get fitted as standard to all cars - and i just thought that was the absolute end of motoring for me. -
thanks all! grateful for the comments They didn't bat an eye for noise of my car, just smile to the marshals! The lancia stratos was totally mega loud, and got on track, but who'd refuse a stratos a lap or two Get round there in your scoob man definately! the fella in the pax seat is my old man! anyone hear that fuel surge after the first few corners? It was weird cos the tank was above 3/4 full! it was doing it below half, but thats normal. anything to worry about? it was aral 102 ron fuel.
-
StrikE, Tam Aye that is true - there were only 3 cars on this lap though - twas pretty clear! I'm going to, when ar$ed, cut together clips of when there were more interesting points on track that thing was ridiculous.. pretty special! :B
-
Finally got it uploaded! any comments welcome
-
och .. warped discs or bearings maybe. they're pretty substantial discs so i'm doubtful they'd be warped, but then what do I know
-
The pads were on their way out anyway so that was expected, I even thought at the time that the ring wasn't even that hard on brakes, but something odds just happened to mine with that shuddering. aye, in a diseisel though! lets get a scoob armada on - 2011
-
cheers man, yeah definately going back! I think a yearly trip is in order And I recommend it to anyone by the way.. I don't think it lives up to its fearsome reputation and knockhill is certainly harder on cars than nurburgring.. so GET OUT THERE GUYS! Would you like your bung back mate? just let me know! I'm working in glasgow on friday if thats convenient?

youtube say that low res video is still processing this morning. its not, they lie. They must be lying - it was only a 64 mb file ffs. sorry chaps, i'm not too good with you tube, apparently.
-
yea probably be down very soon mate lol.. really? sweet! alright for the sake of my sanity, i'm not bothering with HD video for now, so here's a low res one in the meantime.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nFdYv7rI7IQ (hasn't processed yet.. hmm.)
-
really? a well, better not put it up then! best one was my 10th and final one, which was 8:41 so called 'bridge to gantry'. not really sure how that compares.. i wonder what it would have been if i knew the track a bit better!
-
hotel we were at - saturday morning. our view of the track from the hotel room window
-
ok ok ! getting the video up! its rendering, after which it'll be uploading to you tube, i think that could take all night with HD though i don't know any faster way.. PICS THOUGH! in a minute here's one from the webcam i'm sorting my camera pics out just now.. lol haha, no more tickets mate no got my grandad head on during the journey! apart from the autobahn where the speedo was tipping 165, legally!??!!! .. and with my DAD next to me saying 'do it again!' .

Well I’m just back from Nurburg, well pleased, great weather both saturday and Sunday, nothing went pop, didn’t die, and managed 10 ‘bridge to gantry’ laps in total (plus one limping lap for a brake issue) Scooby was, almost, faultless.. I found you could be really confident and throw it around the track, reasonably, willy nilly. I don’t think I’d have had any more fun with more power, and the scooby handling characteristic understeer made it easy to cross the limits of grip predictably. The only car trouble I had was a developing braking issue, they started to shudder badly when hot, changed the pads (which were totally finished) and it still happened. Anyway, put in the fastest lap when they were like that, and they got me home, so all good! If the rosyth – zeebrugge ferry was still in operation, I’d be there once a month I think! I’ll get a video up if anyones interested.. I’ve watched it back a few times now, and all I wanna do is go back there and work on my lines Chris. only question now, where do I put my sticker!?

there seem to be a lot of bad reports here about the ferodo 2500's. My ap's with 355 discs they work totally well! Maybe with smaller discs and calipers they aren't up to it or something?
