  1. I did the 6 speed on a classic - just make sure you get a Jap 6 speed and not a UK one. Sounds like you've got all the bits there. I needed to change the rear hubs too, don't think you should have to on a hawk though.
  2. I need to get a scrape fixed down the side of my wheel arch, and at the same time I want to treat a few bits of rust here and there (from water coming in the boot, and wherever else it can be found) and get the paintwork freshened up a bit. What options do I have? A full respray would be nice, but prohibitively expensive probably. I'm thinking more just getting the front and rear bumpers resprayed and spot treating the rest. Would a painter give me a flat rate quote and sort everything he can find, or want paying by the hour and millilitre of paint. Thanks, Chris.
  3. I did this years ago in the xr4 sierras along with 4 or 5 different cars on the track, think the whole thing came to circa £250 or something. xr2, mgf, Formula ford, I forget the other one. There wasn't NEARLY enough time to get any feel for it .. and I think we only got 2 downhill runs! (not laps, IIRC)
  4. Alright Chris, I'm gonna go for the Pagid rs29's - meant to be good on road and track without ruining discs too badly. AP's all round eh? that should do it. 4 pots at the rear? or maybe 6?
  5. I think I would regret choosing 2 or 3 - I think you can't go wrong with option 1 there though.
  6. £150 a bit steep is it not paul!?
  7. I loved french oral when I was at school. Ahh, ms. Longbottom
  8. Gus, Strange that its been so difficult organising meets for the L&B lot. - I'm interested in Runs and trackdays what about the Flotterstone Inn, it quite handy for nice roads. perhaps a run down to moffat!? Revolution (the motorstore) looks cool - I had no idea this place existed! Revolution (the nightclub) looks, em, Chris.
  9. Knockers 19th March nearly 2 weeks away - well looking forward to getting these things on!!
  10. nice blob - bit of de-tango first up then mate? Chris.
  11. you going along to knockhill kenny? I'll need to get your bung back to ye sometime!
  12. It will be an all new design - 'Barry's Sumptuous Sumps' from the clever men at SW Motorsport. I think he'll only be making a few of them chaps so no over them. a dry s/hump would be nice but no the now kenny. 3k for a coworth kit, bolt. EDIT: it will be a baffled sump a bit like lateral used to do. maybe a plate too, but probably not.
  13. well I actually went with demon tweeks so 1300 all in, fitted and delivered, worked out at £177.77 per tyre. but tyredrive are still doing that price Graeme!
  14. just feel the need to post a as I've just purchased my R888's with anthracite wheels, and all sumping baffling and swirling work is underway, in prep for the 19th March! aw hell, here's another.
  15. thanks mate will do aye, a bit of scaff pole: jam it under and drive forwards.
  16. thanks frank, I am 100% sure there will be rubbing issues cos I've had 225/40/18's on before. So I'm getting steve to break out his arch rolling gizmo and flare the things out. Then I'll get them repainted. yeah, as said i'm sure all rotas are good and fine. I'm going for Team Dynamics though: a totally unrelated decision.
  17. yeah totally. plus the circumstances of the pictures are unknown. Shame its just one of those victims of internet smear - that the image stays in your mind regardless of reason and logic.
  18. might be worth ringing them nice one neil. wheel wise though, they only stock those ROTA things. Why do I always associate "death trap" with that brand? ah, wait, i saw a (probably false) internet rumor once. here it is. i remember thinking I'll take that image with a pinch of salt. But turns out its stuck with me. oh well.
  19. Firstly, first set of track wheels whoo hoo Google can do; 4x 225/40/18 Toyo r888's from www.tyredrive.co.uk at £669.18 delivered and 4x 18"x8 Team Dynamics ProRace 1.2 Glitter Silver from http://www.alloywheels.com at £600 Undelivered. Also, there's a guy on eBay who does them already balanced and fitted for a smidge more. £1339.95 plus £30 for delivery. Obviously the first option looks cheaper even with tyre fitting, but has anybody any experience of anything. lol. Am I missing any deals that you know of? things to be aware of? Thanks all, Chris.
  20. sorry to raise this from the dead, but I've a small question. Is this how it works? do you 1.fit a cosworth baffle plate to your existing sump to help a bit 2. buy a lateral baffled sump to help a lot 3. fit a cosworth baffle plate to a lateral baffled sump to help even more? and for completeness - (4. dry sump to eliminate issue altogether) Thanks, it a bit new to me, this. Chris.
  21. he's trying to gain sympathy, saying that "The Internet People" have ruined his life!? lol. Still though, I don't get his Pseudonym, Ron, even when he was a credible tuner why lie about your name?? Chris.
  22. oh god Spec C mate - get it!! its lovely.
  23. was in the Grey classic with the yellow stripe, username is rollsound on other forums so you might already have seen my vids etc. don't recall seeing your flames though Cheers, Chris.
  24. Hi and Welcome, I was on the track with you on Saturday too, your car looks pretty stripped out from your videos - what else have you done to it then? Chris.
  25. ridiculous the way your car corners in that video!
