  1. Nice one. I need to get the brakes worn in - shouldn't be a problem got the Elgin parental run this weekend. Need to get the carbon wrap on another Perrin wing stiffi and get them on before the fling if i can be bothered. Apart from that there's a small bit of tidying up and weather permitting a wash and gloss will see it ready.
  2. Bugger..... http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-17753488 The drivers have rejected the deal that was on the table. They have until friday to accept a deal or call a strike in 7 days. They do say they want to agree ona deal so there's a chance it'll be sorted. That would mean a strike over the weekend of the fling! Feckin typical. Lets hope they sort it out by friday or things could get tricky for the annual jaunt through the hills.
  3. Cheers jase, another call to Iain is always an option - since thats where the car came from. Along with the whiteline roll bars i fitted adjustable top mounts that only work with std shocks. If i really had to i'd go for coilovers i'd fit the Litchfield kit for the Type25. I'm not sure if the knock on mine is the struts or just the fact that everythings a lot firmer now so there's more shock when a big bump is found....
  4. car back, Performance Friction brakes, braided hoses and fluid change all sorted. Feels better already. Just need to get them bedded in before the fling

  5. Infortunately it completely normal on these things the grease inside them goes over time and causes all the issues (apparently). Options you have are... 1. Rebuild the originals - fit grease nipples at the same time so they can be topped up. 2. Replace with OE kit - try Camskills prices are supposed to be quite good there according to other threads. 3. Coilovers - for normal daily driving could be overkill, if the the cars tracked could be useful. Comes down to budget as normal. Theres a load of info here My hawk has started to knock since i fitted the whiteline kit but i bought i full set of spare suspension ready for it happening. When it gets unbearable i'll get the new struts on.

  7. True not very often something like this happens. Not like the old days of rallying with the croud parting to let a flying car through is it. They're usually well marshalled these days as well, like you say just looks like a freak accident.
  8. Not good news. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-north-east-orkney-shetland-17714608 Apparently a car left the road and 4 guys were helping back onto the road when the second car hit them. Hope they all make a fast recovery.
  9. Nice one, my CV is going out next week so my 5 month 'break' is nearly over. I'm see what interest we have round here. Problem is as can be seen from this thread alot of the guys in the area are off shore. We'll have to see what we can sort out for the summer months. 1. Daveylwrx + lynnap 2. ScoUK 3. lewisscoob 4. Barry_STI 5. Monsterenergy 6. Strangely Brown 7. Cannonfodder225 8.
  10. Replacement speaker here and fitted and the Octane Booster is here. Just the brakes left and i'm set for the fling. Though i might fit the Perrin wing stiffies if i get a nice day

  11. Probably better off doing in the central belt area. That way there should be more interest/attendance, i'd love to sort something like it out up here but i think it would be a bit of a damp squib.
  12. Been ok on the blob WRX (with standard discs) for some reason the hawk STI and godspeed brakes don't get on. Performance Friction waiting to go on.
  13. Octane Booster ordered for the fling.... should be here in time!

  14. Octane Booster ordered for the fling.... should be here in time!

  15. Thats the Performance Friction discs and pads arrived. Going on the car next Monday. Should be enough time to get them bedded in before the fling!

  16. Try this place.... http://www.smithupholstery.co.uk/www.smithupholstery.co.uk/contact.php one of the guys i used to work with recommended them but i just stuck STI seats in instead!
  17. Sounds good to me, i might even head down if it's something i'm interested in.
  18. Sweet i'll start a list then. 1. Daveylwrx + lynnap 2. ScoUK 3. lewisscoob 4. Barry_STI 5. Monsterenergy 6. 7. 8.
  19. I might end up offshore as well. Left the RAF on redundancy before christmas and have been relaxing since then. Time to find gainful employment again i think. Plan is to get something onshore for a while but if they throw silly money at me i could be tempted to get my toes wet at some point! Hopefully i'll get a steady 8-5 in Aberdeen and have plenty of time to get some stuff going. I'm on Aberdeen Scoobies as well but there doesn't seem to be much going on there apart from a meet in a pub once a month.
  20. Depends how many we could get, have to make it worth while for the places i'm looking at. There's a seperate thread for it add you're name to it and get us going....
  21. Hi everyone. As you may know Moray & Aberdeen regions have come together under 1 banner with ScoUK and myself as joint Regional Organisers. I've had a few ideas for things to do and i need to gauge the interest to see if it's worth while organising stuff or just stick with runs. On the list at the minute i've got Karting - minimum of 8 people if we had enough we could do a regular Moray V Aberdeen sessions Open Day - working on a couple of options of garage for tracking check/alignment, etc and possibly a bit of car detailing. Obviously the more we have attending the more likely places are to open up for us so i'm just checking to see who would be interested in attending any of these. I don't want to organise it and have no-one attend it would just make the club look bad. If i can get decent numbers to attend i'll get the ball rolling. So if you'd be interested in coming along or have some other great ideas we can use let us know....
  22. Great minds and all that. I was thinking the same thing problem would be where to do it to get maximum attendance. There was an offer of free alignment checks up here when ScoobyDoom was RO (Clark Motorsport were going to do it i think, might have to resurect that one) i was thinking of asking Polished Bliss if they would do a demonstration day to show how to give a car a decent detail. I'm sure if we could get a decent turn out to make it worth their while they'd be up for it.
