  1. Not sure what my strut brace is, it was on the car when it arrived. Has to be said though the whiteline roll bars (front and rear), adjustable top mounts and ant-lift kit have transformed the handling. As i've fitted the adjustable top mounts coilovers are out for me as they aren't compatable with them but i've got some Tein springs in the garage that might get fitted at some point. Eibach are good though always used them on my other cars.
  2. 1. I fancy one of those front tower braces - as much for the look as anything else. Can I fit one of those by itself or will it throw the whole geometry setup out? Easy to fit? - Yup easy job not sure about the geometry 2. Lowering springs - if I buy a spring compression tool, is it simply a case of wheel off, compress old spring off, compress new spring on, wheel on, bob's yer uncle? Yes that easy but the alignment would need done 3. Apart from the above 2 - is there a distinct order ye should do the upgrades in? - I'd say plan it right and pay less. Why do the suspension and strut brace then get an alignment check done to fit more kit and have it done again. Could be worth just getting the kit and waiting till you have it all and fitting it all together. 4. Are Whiteline the best? - It's what most guys seem to be going for 5. Is it worth putting it into a performance shop to get it all done? - i've been using Clark Motorsport in Kintore to get the upgrades done on mine - Whiteline front and rear anti-roll bars, anti-lift kit and adjustable top mounts. They are whiteline dealer and members on here get a discount on labour 6. What's the difference between going for coilovers or upgraded dampeners and springs? Usually more adjustment with coilovers 7. If I put it out to get work done, anyone in Aberdeen area recommended? Clark Motorsport 8. Are the Litchfield upgrades listed a good order to do things? - if it's got the Litchfield stamp on it it'll be good... but then i would say that. Hell Iain even made the hatch decent
  3. Well can't fault the service so far.... The receipt arrived today along with the hoses and the Discs and pads should be here tomorrow.
  4. you could look about for a 2L hawk... there was a few of them about. Or a JDM import would fit the bill 2L engine and twinscroll turbo
  5. The price of your's depend on the usual. Condition, service history oh and the good old engine size.... if it's a 2L i'd say it's more sellable than the 2.5L thanks to the lovely road tax we have now. With the 2.5L being double the tax of a 2L. Rough guess i'd say somewhere around £5500-£6250 (depending on condition, etc) seems normal for that year and mileage though.
  6. The GB looks ok if slightly over priced...... http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201212458281690/sort/priceasc/usedcars/price-to/15000/engine-size-cars/2l_to_2-5l/price-from/8000/model/impreza/make/subaru/page/1/keywords/gb270/postcode/ab326ys/radius/1501?logcode=p http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201213459588540/sort/priceasc/usedcars/price-to/15000/engine-size-cars/2l_to_2-5l/price-from/8000/model/impreza/make/subaru/page/1/keywords/gb270/postcode/ab326ys/radius/1501?logcode=p http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201208451723129/sort/priceasc/usedcars/price-to/15000/engine-size-cars/2l_to_2-5l/price-from/8000/model/impreza/make/subaru/page/1/keywords/gb270/postcode/ab326ys/radius/1501?logcode=p The last one is nice, under 12k and 22,000 miles. Got to be some negotiation in the price of the one you're looking at. You'll always get more selling the WRX private, weather it's enough to clear any finance is another matter.....
  7. Any links to the car...... the GB270 that is and what age is yours and what do you expect for it... it's bound to be alot more than what the garage would offer for it. When i got my first scooby the garage offered £3000 for a 4 year old 3 series that had 6k worth of extras on it and full BMW service history. £22000 brand new and they offered 3k.... Sometimes i think they use rune stones not Glass's guide to pluck their numbers from.
  8. never been down that road. need some ideas for meets and places to go for a 'steady' drive.
  9. Bits are ordered and on the way from Scoobyparts i should have them on Wednesday with any luck then fitted by the end of the week. Should be enough time to get them bedded in before the fling.... hopefully! Thats braided hoses, PF pads all rouns and PF discs up front.
  10. Doh i aclled scoobyparts... Waiting on them getting back to me anyway.
  11. Phone call made just waiting to hear back from them when they check the stock at Performance Friction..... This won't be cheap but don't suppose you can put a price on being able to stop with confidence
  12. I'm thinking PF pads all round, front discs and some braided hoses and a fluid change will do it. If that doesn't work it'll be a full set up..... later in the year when i have job!
  13. Cheers guys i feel an order going in tomorrow so i can get them fitted and bedded in before the fling. Scoobyparts seem to have them in at a half decent price! I can see an expensive week coming up as the blob is already in getting a new clutch fitted.
  14. With the fling coming up and my brakes feeling less than great i'm thinking about what changes i could make. At the moment it has a full set of Godspeed grooved discs and Kevlar pads fitted. The car stops ok (most of the time) there's not alot of feel through the brake pedal and distict lack of bite! The options i've got are.. Change the pads - Performance friction, mintex, tarox, EBC, pagid Change the pads and fit braided hoses all round - as above Change the discs, pads and fit braided hoses - only fitted the Godspeed kit in Jan so not sure Brake conversion that would fit under 17s- (was looking the the Porsche kit thats on the Type 20-25 but it would mean new 18'' wheels as well and make my 17'' winter wheels and tyres surplus to requirements). I will change something but at the moment i'm stumped to be honest. There are so many options out there. I definately think braided hoses are going on but as for what else i'm not sure. Performance friction, mintex, EBC, tarox, pagid... the list of pads is huge. So the question is what have you guys got and whats any good. Scoobynet say godspeed are great (i did them in a good deal from there) and i know Ian does loads of pads and was thinking about giving him a call and seeing what he said as i've never had a problem with his stuff before. I've done loads of searching the web and it just confused me even more.... Help

  16. Hmmm Vibe Lite Air speakers. Light, great sound put together with dairtlea! Thats 2 out of 4 mid drivers that the magnet has detached from the unit. Not good enough really, waiting to hear from the supplier.

  17. Well i've still got the Perrin wing stiffies to fit (still got one to wrap in carbon then they'll go on), carbon scoop (if i decide to change it), Carbon bit for above the exhaust (yes i like carbon fibre) and today the Benen Tow Hooks arrived. I just need to figure out where the feck the front one goes since the hawk arrived with no tow hook. Might have been cheaper to go to Jap Performance Parts or Subaru but sod it they look good. Oh and possibly some adjustments to the brake
  18. Hopefully after this http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-17558294 things might calm down a bit........ We can hope. It's just been 2 days of stupidity by Sheeple running out to fill up a car thats 3/4 full. A friend of mine got verbally abused for filling her car up this morning. She's due to give birth in a few days so needs her car the car was on fumes but the old giffer hurling abuse at her didn't care! Good job her hubby wasn't there he's just got back from Afghan so would have probably been done for GBH.... but then again the old fart might not have hurled the abuse at a woman if her hubby was around.
  19. Been into Aberdeen this morning and all the garages have lines of cars outside them. Headed back into Westhill and there's a huce line at the tesco's garage. There's no chance of a strike for at elast 2 weeks..... they'll need another fill up before anything happens! It's just barking....
  20. Cheers for the tip..... i put the cra into the same place for the MOT so it should be ok!
  21. That be the one! I looked at it for a while and it was still there the day my redundancy cash arrived in the bank..... a week later it was on a transporter heading for my house.
  22. It's the first time i've used it, i used dodo juice blue velvet on the blob but the guys at polished bliss said it wasn't needed on a scooby and recommended the Workstat kit. Can't complain about the finish. Good thing with the workstat kit is it's in the spray bottles so it's easy to re-do the car when it's needed i suppose. Might even keep the Gloss bottle in the boot for when it's needed....
  23. I've got a Blob WRX and JDM STI. Perks of a redundancy payment. Braided lines are on the to do list the garage i use are Hel agents so it shouldn't be an issue.
  24. Cheers marko i am looking at them and Performance Friction!
