think i'll be interested, mines just needs a tweak as i have had the turbo replaced due to the cat colapsing and knackering it. so its the same model turbo but its jus not felt right since and i am guessing no turbo is exactly the same. dunno what the that'd require map/money wise. i have the liscence but would lik eto think i'd have to shell out 2+ ton? dunno

aye am on holiday for the mc rae gathering, yeah am a bit of a knock off nigel in the membership dept. is it possible to do a track day without needing new tyres and brakes after it or are you gonna tell me to stop being a pussy lol
-
right had enough of reading about knockhill track days, time i let rip lol. when's the next one? is there like a respectable drivers only day as i would not want to horse it around and be bullied off chavs in their cavies etc lol. also i am not a full paid up member of SIDC would this impeed me getting to a track day or do i just pay a nominal fee?

This post is so funny due to the fact i have a recent post with a problem, which has been replied to by several helpful people, though if i am honest i would have thought it would have been read more and/or had more replies. However after around half a second of thought i realised that i was only on here right now as I HAVE A PROBLEM otherwise would be packing and organising for my imminent (spelling?) holiday. I am therefore even more appreciative of the people who replied to my post and tried to help. what exactly is it that you would like us all to be talking about on here? Or have you posted and no-one seems interested? It just seems you have set off on an immediate hostile footing for no obvious reason, no?

i got the turbo from welsho, it was from his 06 wrx, would there be an inherent (spelling?) differnce? could someone please post a picture of said pipework as i have no idea. would this be easy to do myself? going to the dominican for two weeks this weekend, so i will probably ressurect this post when i am back if no one can help the now. the cars running so i am not crying about it just now, just annoying more than anything. i'll buy gauges when i get back so we can see what its boosting, though i defo think its something to do with the turbo as its defo trying to spool up earlier with less effect if you know what i mean

Any Special Tools Required For A Pad Change On A Wrx?
buffalo replied to st3ph3n's topic in Scottish Scoobies
yup canter, done the disc and pads all round myself. i would however recommend having a G clamp handy. i broke two trying to get two of the pistons back. was at it ages. sticky caliper though i think -
dnt think its the timing as it idles fine etc. the car still has two maps and there is an evident change when you switch between the two. bad to worse lol
-
nope no gauges unfortunately. this would obviously have come in handy. yeah john i'm pulling my hair out with out right now, jus an other in a long list. need to order a full new set as the wont honour any warranty (fair enough) and the don't supply single springs.

ok guys quick summary some might know recently i had head gasket troubles and also replaced the turbo. previous to this i was running around 290 bhp with 301ft/lbs torque thanks to Andy and the supporting mods. well since i got the car back after being fixed it seems the old power jsut isnt there and there is a ton of lag then pretty much nothing else. i replaced a td04 for a td04 so thought everthing would be hunky dory. the turbo however seems to want to start to spool just under 2k where before it was just after. does this mean that the actuater arm is the problem as the ecu was mapped to (although same pt no.) a different turbo??? and is not trueing up with what the ecu is telling it? or am i way off the mark? cant think what else would be the problem as the dump valve isnt blocked leaking etc. its weird as if the cars choking, it stupid to put a figure on it but it feels like its lost 20bhp or something i know that sounds stupid but its lost the kick as where before you would dump the gas wait a second on the lag then whoosh. now it just seems like it shrugs it shoulders a bit then start to jog abit before i have to change gear lol. basically is this something andy could remedy ie have a look at the map (if it needs matched up again) or is it something totally diffent as i know the guys busy and dont want to waste his time.

i'd have been kecking myself. seen similar stuff on the tv (traffic cops). they took a merc off an essexs daddys girl as the car was not registered in her name and she didnt know who her insurance was with as 'daddy takes care off all that' the left her standing in the street it was crazy. at the end of the progamme it stated that she DID have insurance and was reunited with her car once she paid to have it released!!! all because the police were (for want of a better word) dicks! another one the stopped (manchester) was a chanky bam mobile. a vectra or cavalier a cant quite remember but the took it off them because they were convince they were up to no good. reasons cited were (get this) different types of tyres, one was also a spare (rest alloys) the number plates were attached with velcro (so are mine) and the general condition off the car. it was obvious to me that the couple were just scummy with little money (you could tell by the 90's tracksuits lol) and thot the had a good looked 'pimped' car. the p[olice in my opion just took umbridge to the though i do admit i would trust them with a bag of rubbish so the police were probably jus looking for excuses to lift them. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ on the cooking oil thing, i dont know if it worth it as if you buy it filtered for your car it still costs 94p as you still have to pay the 60p in the pound fuel tax!!!! its a joke. one of the dj's on clyde one was promoting someone in the town who was selling it 'at the amazing price of only 94p a litre'. Now to me taht aint amazing its ridiculuos as that what v-power etc should be not bloody cooking oil you've already paid tax on when you used it for its primary function. you should get a bleeding recycling grant and incentives to use it as it is in essence waste materials!!

craig79, i have a 03 wrx which is running roughly 300bhp/300ft/lbs torque. your car will be fine for stage 1 - 2 though after that i would be a bit weary. however i have blown the cat which in turn ****ed the turbo and i'm just getting it back after blowing the cylinder head gasket. i have never tracked it and wouldnt say i gave it welly every day though i do have the occasional blip lol hope this helps though after reading what i've written, i wouldnt know what to do lol

Fairs do's for being bold and going for it but the first thing me and the burd thought was 'oh no, whats he done!' Only cause it looked so sweet with the original graphics and even bare without them. Dare i say it looks slightly neddish now? (holds his breath.......)
