  1. OMFG i want, no wait, i NEED to get myself some of that. make yourself some money my friend sell some on here. first shout tho.
  2. my mates going to this with his dad, didnt fancy it at first but might pop along if a can make it out my bed lol
  3. cheers guys, its tein springs i got from john and its grooved discs and yellow stuff pads. done the front myself before it broke so just let him fit the rear. Yeah was thinking the same, as long as its fixed now i dont care what fixed it
  4. yeah be good to see it bud. While were talking bout this anyone know of any good bodyshops/painters around glasgow south lanarkshire area. i'm in east kilbride and need a vortex generator a splitter and winglets painted. dnt want to hijack your thread tho mate
  5. As we all know spending money on your scoob doesnt always mean modifying it, well in my case it mostly means fixing it lol. Basically thought my head gasket was gone as on start up had white smoke pouring out the exhaust for a second or two then would dissapear. nearly died at the thought of paying Subaru to remedy this as the engine would need to come out etc etc. Got a friend of a friend whos worked on cars for years and has his own ramps etc. He done the work got the full gasket kit and seals, skimmed the heads, done the timing belt, water pump and thermostat. he also changed the turbo fitted a decat up-pipe (heat wrapped) and is currently fitting lowering springs and braided brake lines and fitting my rear pads and discs. For all this he wanst £1100, now i know that there is at least 3-400 pounds of parts incl skimming the heads and he said he was taking £230 for the springs, lines and brakes. So i guess i am asking you guys what you think. does this sound fair? I think it does as the garage wanted £180 for the springs and hes taking £230 for that plus lines and brakes? i think if it was under 1k i wouldnt have bothered as it wouldve flew under the radar and i think it was obviously cheaper than Subaru its just the missus thinks its terrible. i also dont think it was the gasket as he mentioned a water leak behind the turbo and repalced clips at the header tank. could this be the cause of the smoke? Either way its working know i just guess i need know that i've got a bargain or ive not been had?
  6. 500bhp on a low boost map!!!!! ****ing hell what does that mean you run on a high boost???????
  7. run the best you can and top up with NF?? i keep a spare bottle in the boot for emergencies
  8. yeah meercat rock, only problem i have with mine is it didnt stay shiney?! it brings the whole look of the car down. i suppose sum metal polish or something would work but i thought exhausts were ment to stay bright and clean. every other one i have had did. Especially for the money spent
  9. Why do you not heat wrap your full exhaust system or is that a stupid question? I say this as for most people a know they only get from the manifold to the down pipe wrapped or which ever inbetween. Is it a simple case of the cost out weighing the benefit? or is it that most of the heat is at the front of the system and is only effective to wrap that?
  10. Not surprised i found this post as i was thinking of posting one myself. long and short of the story is that my up pipe was just over a week to note 'dispatched' or 'posted' in the my accounts section and 4 days after that before i recieved it. Although i recieved confirmation e-mails when i tried to fone there was never an answer which i found distressing as being fobbed off by a person is better than a faceless e-mail. it does state that under no circumstances can you collect in person i do not see why you cant as postage is free anyway. i can't fault the company though and do not wish to in this post as the product was top notch and the website is well laid out i just feel it would benefit customers and perceptions if there was someone to answer queries or dish out trackers numbers etc
  11. nice, do you have any trouble with ground clearance with the new springs? looks good, like the polished wheel nuts, did they come with teh wheels, where could i get myself some gold ones?
  12. basically its the apr carbon canards. decided against them tho, for now
  13. Was thinking about these and stumbled across this on ebay. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/CARBON-FIBE...sspagenameZWD2V Think they may look a bit guff in the silver (my car is black) but definately think something like this would be an improvement to my WRX rather than the STI winglets (which i am still waiting to get delivered!) what you all think?....don't need to hold back lol
  14. Just seen that as of tomorrow all petrol must incl at least 2.5% Biofuel?!! What sort of implications would this have on scoob's especially ones which are mapped to run 99 octane??? also how can i be getting charged 111.9 for V-Power when 2.5% of it will now be Biofuel which is inheritally cheaper???
  15. **** me your motors done 10k and the clutch is gone!?! i wouldnt be replacing it till it truely gives up the ghost, pretty sure its nearly a grand for Subaru to fix it! IF your running 232bhp at the wheels what you running at the flywheel? cus for what its worth am around 300bhp/torque and the cars fine
  16. hmmm quite like that
  17. check ur vacuum pipe on ur dump valve
  18. recently just bought discs and pads for my WRX, though i have a chance to obtain brembo calipers. i know there is a diffence but unsure what the difference is. would my WRX discs and pads fit the brembo callipers. the two cars are both newage WRX MY03 and STI8
  19. was always told to stay away from the k & n as it was oiled and opted for the dry green. doubt you'll see or hear a difference with the filter however its a must when combined with other mods
  20. ^^^^ lol what brace are we talking about here
  21. ffs thats sum amount of metal to go thru in 2 yrs, i thought i was bad at one a year! loving the jixser! my mate had a 600 rr, i'd have one in a second if a knew i wouldnt kill myself and had somewhere to keep it lol you some sort of shady underworld character lol, to keep all that at your house without any hassle let alone afford it all lol
  22. cheers guys for the replys, think i was just getting carried away with the idea of having coilovers on my car, another tick in the box if you know what i mean lol. i dont do track days, mainly because everday in the polo mint citys a track day to me lol but seriously after a little probing it seems only to be mainly poor reviews of them, and i dont want to comprimise the ride comfort to that extreme either. yeah hypertech will fit 22mm rear ARB, ALK and drop links and fast road set up for £409 so think i will just go for that once my brakes finally turn up PS, Welsho that garage of yours sounds like an aladins cave lol
  23. i have always ran lowering springs on my previous cars but dont have first hand experince of coilovers. since owning the impreza i have really enjoyed the ride comfort and dont know as to what extent to compromise that. however i understand that running a 5yr old car and shocks on lowered springs wont last long and the struts would need replaced pretty soon i would imagine. my only fear is that i buckle a wheel, but i suppose a simple solution would be to actively avoid pot holes lol. i am presuming the handling when set up correctly is second to none? i also cant get past the idea of full new suspension for that price?
  24. yeah he said 300 so i'll see if he'll take 250 says he paid 550. found a post on another website says the coilovers are poor, harsh ride and break after 6 months? is this just one guys bad experience? he lost it on black ice, says he wasnt goin that fast, pranged the passenger side........... tbh as i'm writing this i am struggling to remember exactly what he told me as i wasnt really interested. think he tried to fix it himself but its still pulling to the left so going to take the good bits off it n sell it. bent subframe probably? he's got a 20g turbo too up for grabs, says he was running over 400bhp, dunno but cus thats sum serious modding. bought it with 4k on the clock and spent the last 3 yrs doing it up
  25. dont have a clue, if i'm honest he stopped me in sainsburys car park. thought he was a bit dodgy at first but he showed me pictures the car on his phone and seems to know his stuff. said he'd be breaking it over the next couple of months but i dont know if he ment just the mods or the whole car. can give you his number. would do any harm to text i wouldnt think
