  1. Got offered these from a guy that smashed his 03 STI brand new in the box. Was only planning on fitting the Tein springs i got (thanks Welsho) and some whiteline good when i amassed some cash. So a couple of simple questions, 1. Are they any good? 2. How much should i offer him?
  2. the turbo is fine, been vacuum checked and such. its in getting the EGT sensor changed. get it back tomorrow, hopefully all will be well.
  3. it was vague so as not to annoy the guy that owned the car. he knows who he is and obviously doesnt want the fact pointed out so i am now glad i kept it vague. it was only ment as a joke anyway

  5. had a wee pull at the acuator arm but its solid so i presume its in place. trackhound tuning, i'm from east kilbride, jus outside glasgow so not in the area, though thanks for your generous offer and would happliy nurse it out your way if you think you could help and the car wont break en route lol
  6. seems to be a buzzing/whirring noise coming from this area this first pic in particular
  7. nope, no boost gauge. how would you check that? take it its a garage job
  8. the garage turned the light out, but it came on a couple of miles down the road. the fault code has always been for the EGT and the car drove fine with this on previously, hence the reason i dont think its an issue though may be wrong
  9. cheers i'll have a look, think there is some sort of heat shield cover thingy that covers the top of the turbo where that goes. will i be doing any further damage if i continue to driive it? ^^^^ hopefully wont need it Welsho, but keep an eye on your pm's lol

  11. kinda annoyed at the garage thot a wee bit more investigation couldve been done. they noted a rattle from the turbo area though. what would cause a rattle?
  12. cars mapped to run vpower, and its run on just that. carry NF in the boot incase i ever need to put 95 in it

Cars been driving like a bag of bolts recently. jus back from the garage after getting the plugs uprated as i thot this was the the problem. on the way there it felt like it was in limp mode and the turbo wouldnt kick in. on the way back it felt slightly more responsive but struggled to rise through the revs and dnt think it breached 60 mph???? Garage plugged it in and said the fault code was for EGT sensor, this his been coming on and off for a while now and jus thot it was due to the map. Now its obvious the turbo isnt working but i expected a big bang or horrible smoke or some outward sign to say it was knackered??? when i got home i lifted the bonnet and gave it a rev to see if i could hear or see anything. It revved quite freely but there was no induction noise or dump from the dump valve?? So anyone any ideas before i shell out for a new turbo?? the cars a newage WRX 03
  14. jus seen this post, any updates to be heard of? love the monster energy, tell me your not getting it so i can steal your idea, my car is black after all, it'd be cheating if ur blue heap got them lol. just kidding. how much graphics can you actually put on ur car?? i mean for instance if your were to get that would they vinyl 75% of your car with black?? same goes with the DC camo as that looks the nuts but struggle to see how anyone could do it unless your car colur was one of the camo colurs as a base colour if you catch my drift. so would the place in hillhouse be the place of choice

  16. wheel imbalance? i get this on my passenger side between 70mph and 80mph, just need the alloy balancing.
  17. ^^^^ where would this pipe be located as they all look the same to me lol. dissconnected the battery today but did nothing to remove the cel light. thought it might have something to do with fueling due to the characteristics of the problem.
  18. just back from the cinema and my newage wrx seems to be chocking/stalling at 5k. it powers through the revs up this point when it starts to 'choke' and doesnt want to go any further through the revs. this happens in every gear. drives sweet other than that. it has all the mods req for Andy F first stage if this helps this happen to anyone else? common fault? any ideas?
  19. ^^^^^^ what gauges you get? i'm goin to go for the defi pod to replace the clock then 3 digital ones in a single din headunit. dunno what am goin to get 6 gauges to read tho lol
  20. understand that mate, the guy has been good with communications so far and an e-mail has been sent. i jus feel aggreived at the condition of the item. there was no impact damage on the brace, however there are shiny gouges and scrapes. the box it was delivered in is in perfect condition too. if i knew how to upload pics i would and it would all become crystal clear. i agree though and will wait on the (hopefully prompt) return email

So angry, waited three weeks on my H brace only to recieve it with the two flanges at the crossmember end bent totally out of shape, one at roughly 35 degrees the other way over 45 Degrees. currentky awaiting the suspect reply from the supplier, think i swift email to paypal is require for faulty item. You can do that cant you?

  24. hi i wonder if any of you guys out there could advise as to wether this is a waste of time without goin the whole hog. currently got stage 1 of the Andy F process 281BHP 301ft/lbs torque. i told him in the near future i would be gettin a heat wrapped de cat up pipe and he said thats cool the map would handle that and should take the car up another 10bhp. My question is this, can i fit said de cat and an sti intercooler without requiring a further map at this stage. the coffers dont really allow for a bigger turbo right now and i would rather start work on the suspension. i understand the fact that mapping 'brings your mods toghether' and so obviously a map would be an advantage but would these additions be detremental (spelling i know lol) or would i just not see a difference as the turbo is running at the max and the current map does not recognise the additions so therefore no more bhp? easier imo adding bits one at a tiem then forking out a large amount at once hence the reason for the question thanks in advance
