  1. Mon the blobs!!!! lol! Nice looking example there!!
  2. Or do what i did and go for a spec C! Will even give you a shot of mine to see the difference over a normal scoob sti! Joe
  3. I had the same trouble as you are having at the moment, except mine was with an evo 5 (5years ago). Dont get me wrong they are very capable cars but since ive had 3 scoobs now i dont think ill ever look back. In my first year of Evo ownership i threw over 3.5k at it just in repair bills. First of all clutch went, then the Active Yaw Control went (1500quid to fix) then the diff packed up. MOT time and had front discs to replace due to corrosion (only had them fitted for 9 months). Car had full service history and was well looked after by the previous owner who i knew. Was out in a hawkeye sti the other day and i'd get a test drive in one before jumping the gun into buying an evo. You will be impressed!! The evos are really harsh on the road, worse than tein superstreets even with their standard suspension. Its up to yourself though mate, by all means try the evo but i can nearly guarantee that you will go back to a scoob very shortly afterwards. Joe
  4. Spoiler on IMO!!
  5. Cheers Guys!! Hopefully this will solve his problem.
  6. PM'd stuarted
  7. My mate at my local garage is puting an EJ25 engine back together and has come stuck. He is looking for some help regarding water hoses from the water pump. 2 of the hoses go up behind the timing casing but where does the 3rd hose from the water pump go to? There is a pipe fitting coming from the block just behind the oil filter. Does the 3rd water pipe from the pump attatch to this?? If anyone has any picture showing the bottom side of the engine he would be able to see where this hose leads to. Thanks in advance!! Joe
  8. Will probably go for the perrin as I had looked at that one before. Not done any mods really to the spec c at the moment paul (apart from K&N pannel filter and PFR7B plugs). Just trying to scope out what all im needing before getting the car mapped. Concentrating on the handling and brakes really first before the power as my spec c came with the subaru branded 4 pots. Possibly getting a set of K-sports shortly with the group buy over on scoobynet. Mods are starting to build at the moment so aiming to have everything bought/fitted and mapped by the summer. Watch this space
  9. Will be needing a 3 port boost solenoid before getting the car mapped. What im wondering is, does the AVCR come with a 3 port boost solenoid or will i have to fit one separately??? Also the 3 ports seem to be hard to come by Cheers Joe
  10. Will be letting hot air into the intake if its been butchered and drilled. A drilled box will only make more noise and you will prob be losing power if anything.
  11. A couple of mine before the coilovers were fitted. PS - It shouldnt be on a 52 plate either, mishap when being registered!! Doh!
  12. Stick with the original air box with a k&n panel filter unless you need to change it out for an induction kit (ie fitting a front mount)
  13. Would say around the 2k mark IMO.
  14. Hoping to get the bike up next summer for a run up your way. See the bikes seem to run in the family too Like Kris' R1!!
  15. Love the spec c!! Just miss the flat four sound sometimes! Nah liked all my scoobs especially the wagon as it was just different!! And the anti lag on the version 2 sti was pretty cool!!
  16. The steering is pretty responsive but the quick rack in the spec c is just as good. Ride quality was pretty hard but its to be expected as they are rally bred cars. Hard to tell with the state of the roads all the same!! I always wanted an evo V since they first came out (the best looking IMO) so at least i can say ive done it. The scooby V evo thing is always gonna show different views of both but for me the scoobs meet the mark!!
  17. Glad you got the airbox. Its a small world in the scooby community
  18. Id have a scoob over an evo any day. Much more responsive and more fun to drive (well the spec c is anyway ) Dont get me wrong the evo was a nice car to drive and very capable but the repair bills put me off them. Maybe i was just unlucky but not taking the chance again!! Id probably still have the wagon if i didnt need a deposit for a house at that time. Loved that car. Wonder if anyone knows of it or has seen it about?? Might ask on one of the southern sections as i sold it to a guy from just outside manchester
  19. Aye thats me, You must be Wayne then? I work on the ferry. Kris is never done with washing and polishing his scoob!! A hard life working with SBS
  20. First of all the clutch went. Replaced it with an uprated exedy one which lasted 10days before it went too. The clutch plate basically cracked in 3 places and was causing my clutch pedal to vibrate. Called the supplier who gave me a replacement immediatly and told me that I was the 3rd person to complain and that there must have been a dodgy batch of clutches. After the clutch issues the 3rd gear syncro went in the gear box. Got that sorted and the Active yaw control packed up. (was a much more fun car to drive without it to be honest!!) Was an expensive fix!! Turbo was the next thing to go so got that fixed and got shot of it before anything else went wrong!! It was one of those cars that you knew was just a jinx!! Never mind it made me get my first scoob and never looked back
  21. Hi mark, Got them from DP motorsport in Ayr www.dp-motorsport.co.uk Think they were about £580 or thereabouts with new wheel nuts for 18s Joe
  22. Thought id post up a few pics of my old cars ive had over the last few years as i found some photos on my laptop tonight. Had a couple of fiestas for the first year of driving, then took the first step to tubocharged cars with a punto GT. Great wee car but no reliability. Could probably change a punto gearbox with my eyes closed after wrecking 3 at crail on 3 occasions. Then onto (well the dark side) a 360bhp Evo V. Was a good car until things started to go wrong and the repair bills were endless!! Put the evo up for sale and had a good bit of interest, then a guy came along and offered me a straight swap for this so i bit his arm off for it! Made sure and got a full HPI check etc as the offer seemed to good to be true. 2002 wrx PPP wagon. Had the wagon for about a year and a half then the wee one was on the way so had to sell it for a deposit on a house and went scoobless 16v clio. After having turbocharged cars for the previous 4 years the clio just didnt cut it. Only had it for about 2 months before ending up with another scoob. 1996 STI. Kept this one for about a year and a half before importing a 2003 STI spec C. My current car (which I'm keeping for a good while as I have plans in the pipeline for it!! Handling and brakes coming shortly before the quest for power begins Joe
  23. Aye i can bring up my service book this time. If i remember
