  1. You are best to let the springs bed in first. Joe
  2. Welcome to the world of subaru's chocolate rear shocks!! I went through 2 sets in the space of 12 months and 7000miles. Got fed up with it and opted for a set of BC coilovers. Good thing with them is you can adjust the dampening and on the softest setting it seems actually softer than the original shocks. I got my last set off ebay for £220 for the pair brand new. If i was you id go for coilovers, will save you money in the long run! Joe
  3. Looking good and very mean!! Lol! Sound deadening is a nightmare to remove. I helped my wee bro strip his 106 rallye and the sound deadening took us 2 days to remove haha.
  4. My bro has a VR6 and im pretty sure he only got one key with his. Its pretty common to only get one key with older cars. You should be able to get a key cut no probs as long as it isn't a coded key.
  5. I smell a PPG calum Look forward to seeing the results when the boost gets wound up. Joe
  6. Hi and welcome mate! You should try www.pistonheads.com for cars. Always a good selection on there. Plenty of meets etc but im sure someone from that area will inform you of them. Joe
  7. Thats what i like to see, stripped out ready for the track. Was thinking of doing the same with the spec c next year but we will see what happens. Keep the photos coming of your progress!! Joe
  8. Had the same prob when i was at college in glasgow. Wee neds looking at the car. Saw the same ones looking at the car 2 nights in a row and was a bit alarmed by it and wasnt sure what to do. Wasnt too bothered as it was daylight on both occasions. Woke up the next night (midnight) with the alarm going, looked out the window (17 floors up lol) but no one to be seen. Stood by the window for a wee while (about 10mins) and to my surprise 2 neds walking round the corner towards the car. They were sood looking at the car but soon moved when i threw 2 empty vodka bottles at them from the 17th floor. (there was no way i was running down the stairs and the lift was fooked!!) Never seen neds run so fast in my life ;) Would be a good idea to get a light with a proximity sensor on it. You will be surprised how effective they actually are and dont cost too much. Hope nothing happens! Joe
  9. Try these guys http://www.helphire.co.uk/ they are basically a bunch of lawyers that go after insurance companies for damages to vehicles that are not cause by the owner. They will assess the scenario of what happened and if they think they can recover your costs it only costs you £10 to take out an insurance policy with them in the event that they cant recover the costs. This meaning that any costs incurred by them are recovered by the insurance and you pay nothing else. I used them when a bus scrapped up my back bumper and they arranged a hire car and paid for the costs of repairing the car and recovered it from the other side. All i paid was a tenner!! And it took next to no time for them to get the ball rolling. Would be worth giving them a call as it means you dont have to deal with the insurance company direct. (they do all the dirty work). Hope this helps mate. Joe
  10. Check the wire connector block under the rear seats that leads to the fuel pump. Had the same problem with my old classic and after bench testing the pump and finding it to be working fine EVENTUALLY sourced the problem to the dodgy connector block. Worth a look and you can check it by just removing the rear seat.
  11. I have an apexi n1 backbox only on my spec c at the moment (bought it like this) and its pretty loud with only the backbox. Unfortunatly no scooby flat four burble with the twin scroll but I do like the rally slag sound!!!
  12. If it was my mate id be visiting him with my shinty stick for sure!!!
  13. Sorry to hear that frank! Hope the little fookers that stole it go seriously hurt when they crashed it!! w***ers!!!!
  14. Ill rack my brains for some more fund raising ideas over the next week while im still offshore. Will hopefully make the santa cruise this year!!
  15. Got one of these for the wee one. Looks the business in the back of the scoob lol
  16. Planning on giving the spec c another service as its been near to 5k miles since the last one. Planning on doing the usual engine oil, oil filter, fuel filter and giving the K&N panel fitler a clean. The car has covered about 49k miles (ish) and i replaced the timing belt along with tentioner and idler pulleys the last time i serviced the car. I was just wondering when and how frequent the gear and diff oil should be replaced and also when the spark plugs should be done? Anyone else recommend anything i have missed as I do most of the servicing to the car myself (well when i can be bothered) Cheers Joe
  17. Sorry bud but think you will be very lucky to get 3k for it (maybe 2.5k at a push). After all it as a 16year old car!
  18. I did the belt on mine myself. The kit cost £250 including all idler pulleys and tensioner. You will most likely need the idlers replaced. I was shocked to see how much play i had in the ones i took off my car (and that was around 42k miles on the clock)
  19. All depends on what make of tyres you want. Remember its the rubber that keeps you on the road so always best to spend a little more and get good rubber!! Try www.camskill.co.uk they have a good range online!
  20. Nah gonna be taking it easy until i get used to it . Not planning on using it much this year to be honest but couldnt walk past it
  21. Decided to get myself another toy. ZX6R ninja! Just need to get a few nice days to get out on it!
  22. Gold ones look the best in pic 1 IMO!! Looks well smart!
  23. Yeah neil its a bit of a tricky job doing the uppipe hence the reason i never got round to fitting it haha!! Ill post those gaskets to you tomorrow
  24. Nice one!!
