  1. Quick question. Car has a walbro fuel pump in tank and an external Bosch 044 pump from a process west swirl pot. Stopped the car tonight and notices that the pump is abnormally loud. It usually has a normal high pitched whine but its ridiculously loud tonight and sounds like its stuttering as the pitch is constantly changing! Car is still running fine with no issues on full boost. Any suggestions? Joe
  2. Im sure when I sold it to Andy it had about 86000 on the clock. 62000 was in KM and 24000 miles. Advert looks more accurate now lol
  3. Ahhh I wasn't aware andy did open source. I thought it was only Ecutek he did
  4. Only reason i'm not going to Andy is that my car is already mapped on open source and only needs a tweek. If i was to go to Andy I'd need a full Ecutek map.
  5. The milage was more than 58000 when I bought the car back in 2008!! lol. Plus I only paid 12.5k for it back then!! Guys on to plums i think lol. Love the way he has copied Andy's original advert too (minus the last part) lol
  6. Just been speaking with Duncan at Race Dynamix about coming up to Scotland to do some mapping. He said he would come up no probs as long as there is a minimum of 3 cars getting mapped for the day. Just wondering if there would be any interest here now that Alistair (Trackhound) is emigrating. Was thinking of speaking with Duncan at Hypertech to see about using his Dyno for this as I'll be through there next week. Probably thinking of February or March time to give some time for saving the pennies and organising. Let us know your thoughts and if anyone is interested. Joe
  7. Cheers mate. Saw you were down on the rock in the clyde the other week.
  8. Yep its in your area now. Has been for a wee while now.
  9. No plans for it at the moment but will be looking to do a few wee tweaks at a later date. Been well looked after with less than 40k on the clock so one happy new owner here!! Cheers for the comments guys Hope to get to some more meets as looking to move back up to Glasvegas!! Joe
  10. Welcome mate! As said already, start with the brakes before you do anything with the power
  11. If I can get my back to back to stay on for another couple of days I'll be there too. Will confirm after a phone call thisafternoon.
  12. My link Extremely sad news for this poor wee guy. Surely this wee guy deserves a good turn out!! Thoughts go out to the family!! Joe
  13. Only a couple but it has a nice full tank of V power at the moment lol
  14. Well the old classic went to a new home a few weeks ago so thought it was only right to replace her with something better. ( I'm blaming you G-Mac!!!) lol Ended up buying Graeme from whiteline's type ra. Had been looking for a clean example and this sure did fit that bill. It has had a few bits and bobs done to it too. Facelifted to blob eye front and rear, Carbon bonnet, Carbon boot lid, Zeitronix LCD display for engine monitoring, Knocklink, SC42 billet turbo, running 1.45bar on low boost and 1.75 bar on high boost map (mapped by Trackhound) Hyperflow top mount intercooler with direct cold air feed, APS inner wing induction kit with K&N cone filter, GT spec headers, Titanium buddy club exhaust system, 750cc injectors, Swirl pot with in tank lift pump and external fuel pump, 18 inch white revolution wheels, Baer 6 pot front brake conversion, 3 way adjustable coilovers, And more whitline gear than you could imagine!! lol! Only managed a few quick pics with my phone but will post up some better ones when I get the chance. Joe
  15. Cheers mate but think i may have sourced one from Graeme at whiteline. If not I'll be in touch :)Its the drivers front hub and has the ring on the back of the hub. Joe
  16. As above. Does anyone have a classic ABS ring (front) kicking about? I'm looking for one ASAP. Cheers Joe
  17. No probs Kenny!! Thats what its all about! A bit of banter and some usefull advice
  18. Big thanks to Duncan and Co at Hypertech!! Got the problem with the heads sorted on the car, engine out and back in, whiteline goodies fitted, fast road geometry set up, rear wheel bearing and a full service. Top job as per usual!! But he also noticed today that my up-pipe and headers have splits in them! More parts to order me thinks!! Whiteline gear and geometry setup has completely transformed the handling of the car!! Well impressed! Only problem is im back to work tomorrow for 3 weeks and aint gonna be able to get out in it! Joe
  19. It's more the fact that there is not really any scope for going bigger with the existing hole due to it being so close to the outer edge of the casing. Gonna call Duncan thismorning and throw some ideas at him and see what he says. Failing that I might end up going a wee bit mad with it. Oh dear lol.
  20. Yep! It could!! But its about time I got my finger out and joined the band wagon properly haha!!!
  21. I'm thinking of just asking him to helicoil (8mm outer thread and 6mm inner thread) it for the mean time until I save a bit more cash for a proper build. Its just the access that is the hard thing! Maybe get a bit more room if the engine mounts are dropped on that side though. With the 8mm thread not being very good and not holding the 8mm bolt, I was thinking of asking him to put some of that metal putty round an 8mm helicoil just to give it a better grip?? Don't see there being much problem with that as there will be no pressure on the rocker cover anyway and as long as it seals properly I'd be happy enough with that for the mean time.
  22. Right where do I start, Had the car with Duncan in hypertech today for a check over, replacement rocker cover seals and service. Found a problem straight away!! Drivers side rocker cover. bottom bolt that goes into the head had been "botched" so to speak. Looks like someone has sheered the bottom bolt in the head at some point, made an balls up of drilling and retapping it. The now 8mm bolt (which was siliconed/PTFT taped in the head) hence the oil leak which I presumed was the rocker cover gaskets is no use as it doesn't even take to the thread. Ok so looking for opinions on options. Duncan recons 15hrs labour for engine out, heads replaced, new seals/gaskets etc. and engine back in place. Do you just source a new head and be done with that (quick fix and back on the road)............ Or do you do anything more when the engine is out already??? Got about 2.5k (ish) Budget. Thoughts please???? Joe
