  1. Would stand out and be different!!
  2. If i got 300 miles to a tank in my scoob id be keeping it lol. Only ever managed 250miles!! Im opting for a diesel if my scoob sells, but its a slow market these days and aint selling it unless i get my asking price. Was looking at mondeos and A4's but the last time i got rid of a scoob for a more sensible car it only lasted a month before i ended up buying another one lol
  3. Having read the whole post for the first time i can see both the pros and cons for the changes to the for sale section etc. I don't see why the old posts were deleted from the for sale section as they were not doing any harm whether it was by a paid member or non menber as they were active before the changes. At the end of the day the the club/forum is here for everyone (paying and non members) to benefit from the bank of knowledge held between the community. I have been helped out countless times in the past whenever i have had problems with my scoob and if it wasnt for the folk using the forum i would probably still be sitting scratching my head. I think the £20 for membership is very reasonable and if my scoob doesnt sell within the next month i will be keeping it and becoming a paid member. Not that i am able to benefit from most of the perks you get from being a paid member, but the fact that its all the £20's thats spent that keeps the club alive and keeps the forum running. Joe
  4. Yep thats the way it seems to be going. Got my scoob advertised at the moment!! Really not wanting to sell it but can't justify it as an everyday car and have nowhere to store it. If i dont get my asking price i will be looking for a lock up and it will be getting stored away!! Always said to myself that when the petrol prices hit £1.40 on the island that i would take the scoob off the road or sell it. And with the state of the roads its just knocking the sh1t out of the suspension, bushes droplinks etc!! Not good!!
  5. Its a spec C V-limied. As it has all the creature comforts of electric windows, mirrors etc. Its definatly not an RA as the RA is raw with every un-nessesary electical item removed for weight saving and no sound deadening, no passenger sunvisor etc! Heard bad reports about this company too. May well be a fantastic car but as said before get someone who knows these cars inside out to look over it for you. IMO hold back and find a type RA Joe
  6. Just read through everything there and by the sound and looks of things this was a well organised event and wouldn't be surprised if he was not separated with his wife and she was in on the whole thing too. There will be a way round this Graham but it might mean speaking to a solicitor and getting their view on things (then again they might not take it on as its in the states) Joe
  7. Im the same gordon!! About a tank a week and also a run up and down to aberdeen every 2 weeks. Not good on the wallet!! Will get another scoob once the wee one goes to school next year and it aint costing me 350quid a month on child care fees!! lol Joe
  8. Know the feeling gordon!! Mine will be up for sale very soon too. Can justify it as an everyday car anymore as the price of fuel has just hit £1.40 a litre on the island!! Always said to myself that if it went that high then im getting a diesel lol Joe
  9. I get about 32-34mpg on the motorway at 70mph and about 18-20mpg about the town. With the price of petrol i may also be looking to take the route of a diesel!! But then again the last time i got rid of a scoob for a more economical car it only lasted a month lol Joe
  10. Sad news indeed!! Thoughts go out to the familys involved!
  11. The state of the roads are shocking at the moment!!
  12. Not so good bud!! IMO thats severly extarcting the urine!! Even worse that this is happening after the escapade you went through with Ron!! If you need a hand with the car when you are back give us a shout!! Joe
  13. Id be up for it for sure provinding i was off shift at work!! Did the rallying up there before when they had the old sierras! Was a great day out and would be even better if there was a group off the forum for a wee bit of friendly competition Joe
  14. Id be up for blockade lol Then at least you could just say
  15. If i didnt work offshore and be away for half the year then id definatly struggle with the price of fuel!! Must get the missus' 206 on the road again! Save me a fortune in the long run at this rate!!
  16. I was 136.4 for 95 ron the other day!!
  17. Set of godspeed disks and pads! Cant fault them!
  18. For how long though andy!! lol!! Joe
  19. Engine in then Gmac?? You get your hands dirty today lol
  20. When the pennys permit i have a few mods in mind!! Handling mods first, drop links and ARBs. Then hoping to up the power to 350/350 as a start lol Joe
  21. Thats shocking!! I dont care, if i see a speed trap i always warn fellow scoob owners travelling the other way!! I really cant see how they can prosecute a driver for doing this and as you said "Surely if the guy's forewarning other drivers of a speed trap, then he's only ever likely to cause them to reduce their speed, which supposedly is the point of speed cameras anyway?" Thats the way i see it, that by flashing its only going to reduce the speed of other drivers. Another way of getting money off us drivers at the end of the day!! Joe
  22. Would be!! Looked into it before lol!! Only problem would be underground storage!!
  23. Very true neil!! Glad i work offshore and away for half the year or these prices would end up making you bankrupt lol!!
