  1. Hmmmmm the new name for the car??
  2. Aye give us a shout next time you are over then.
  3. Do it!!! I'd personally go Jap like Paul says but that RB5 does look nice!
  4. Looks good Gordon!! About time you got yourself another one!!
  5. What colour??? Spill the beans!!
  6. Cheers guys. Think this one will be staying for a while!! Always fancied a late classic but never really saw any I really liked. Already got it booked in with Andy F for a map tweek in 3 weeks time and its going into Hypertech on Monday for a few bits and bobs. Just need to get my hands on a 6 speed and better brakes and we are onto a winner!!
  7. Well after nearly a year without an Impreza, I got bored and had to get myself another one!! 1999 STI. Has a few modifications at the moment, HKS equal length headers, HKS 3 inch turbo back exhaust system, HKS induction kit, HKS SSQV BOV, ARC topmount intercooler, Pace alloy radiator, Sard Fuel pressure regulator, Walbro fuel pump, Exedy Hyper clutch (which takes a bit of getting used to!!) VF34 turbo, Apexi AVCR, Bee-R Rev Limiter, BC coilovers, Matt black P1 alloys, Drilled and grooved disks all round with red stuff pads (Soon to be replaced for something better!!) Carbon fiber spoiler, scoop, mini scoob and fog light covers, Booked in with Andy F already for the end of Feb for a map tweek and off to Hypertech on Friday for a full service and 2 new rocker cover gaskets as they were slightly leaking. All in all pretty happy with it and it certainly gives the grin factor again!! Few pics Joe
  8. Well looks like I'll be back in an Impreza quicker than i first thought. Away to look at one down south shortly. Only problem is it has no spare wheel and i don't fancy taking the chance of driving it back up the road without one incase I get a flat. (which knowing my luck would happen!!) Or my other option would be to buy some of that tyre weld but never had any experience using the stuff. Cheers Joe
  9. Been trying to get hold of Gary at Keith Michaels for the last couple of days, left a couple of messages but no reply. Will have a wee shop around today as i have some spare time, will let you all know the outcome
  10. Ok its time for me to get another Impreza!! Lasted a whole 9 months without one but now have withdrawl symptoms! haha Question is where is best to insure? Had 5 imprezas in the past, paid £650 a year fully comp for insurance for the Spec C I used to have. Trying to get quotes just now and they are just ridiculous (double what i paid last time round). Waiting for a call back from Keith Michaels to see if they are any better!! Any suggestions? Looking at getting a version 5 or 6 (possibly a type R). Cheers Joe
  11. More fun with the manual DCCD
  12. Nice wagon smiler!! Its a 55 plate vectra sri 150bhp diesel that i have at the moment. 60mpg on the motorway and about 48-50 mpg around the town. Joe
  13. Kept telling myself that i need to be sensible and have a diesel for commuting to work!! But i seem to have forgotten what sensible means lol!! The hunt for impreza number 5 is on!! Will be 3 door this time i think!! Joe
  14. Not bad mate, Just working away all the time saving the pennies for another impreza LOL! Hopefully another spec c sometime in the near future Or a type r!! Prob a type r to be honest as i don't think i will be able to hold on to the cash for a spec c haha
  15. Try the connector under the rear bench Paul. I had the same problem a couple of years ago with an N reg STI and sourced the problem to a loose connector block under the rear seat. Joe
  16. Take it you got pulled for too much noise then andy?? That is a shocking excuse for workmanship there. Well and truely worth naming and shaming!! Joe
  17. Alright Andy, Well what can i say?? Its different but i do actually like it. Thought of putting decals on it when i had it but never had the balls lol. Aggressive looks for an aggressive car!!! Joe
  18. Not so much the car thieves lol! Its more the fact that it will end up getting vandalised by some of the wee neds that i have had run-ins with in the past. It was hard to part with the scoob!! But the anti-lag was gonna get me in trouble
  19. Well the scoob went to a new home yesterday to a guy called paul in paisley. Think he will be joining the forum as i pointed him in this direction. Couldn't justify the money i was spending on fuel at the moment with commuting up and down to aberdeen to work. Would loved to have kept the scoob and bought a runabout for running up to work but after a long hard think, decided that it had to go as i was not going to leave it sitting on the street outside the house while i was working. And there was no lock-ups to be had anywhere ont the island. Now have a 55 plate vectra sri cdti 150. Ideal for a "family car" lol. Will do just now and with the money i will save on fuel over the course of the year, the car will probably pay for itself. And the cash i do save is going into the next scooby fund lol. Miss the spec C that TPS-scoob has now so think a hawkeye spec c type ra will be on the cards in the future!! Will still be hanging about the forum and hopefully keep in touch with all the folk i have met over the years! All the best to you all and hope the fuel prices don't drive many more to selling their pride and joy's!! Joe
  20. Know the feeling!! When i got my first impreza, 5 days later it got keyed all over the bonnet, roof and drivers side. Ended up having to get the car resprayed!! Not good!!
