  1. Yep, can't go wrong there. Quite messy on the wheels but small price to pay for the stopping power
  2. if it's the ones that are around £1400 they are SUPERB. Went round Knockhill in a P1 with them and it was unbelievable
  3. cheers chaps, do either of you know if the P1 is the 80 or 90mm item?
  4. Right chaps, looking for advice. I know the Z32 is the nissan 300ZX MAF. What is the Q45? I'm running an Apexi Power FC ECU and am aware i'll need a re-map. Had a few near catastrophic MAF failures and i'm sure you'll know the MAF for the P1 is pretty fragile. Just want to know whats involved, anyone done it before, costs? Thanks in advance
  5. I had an oooo and a giggle, most amusing!
  6. VF28 is the standard unit for the P1. The rumours re the rebuilds seem to stem from the fact they have the STI V5 Ecu which is mapped for 100 ron fuel. Apparently Prodrive did some tweaks to the map but it's still "on the edge". When rebuilding everyone goes for either the RCM or Graham Goode modified oil pumps for peace of mind. There are many P1's out there with 100K plus miles on them on original motors.
  7. other than whats been said, knocking rear shocks are all I can think of. In the current climate they're doing anything from 7.5k upwards. If you get a good one you won't be disappointed
  8. ouch! At that price the heat wrapping will be getting done again!
  9. Cheers, came across one of their ads in Jap Performance mag over the weekend. Will see what they say
  10. Waiting on a call back. Guy that took the details was a total cabbage so didn't instill me with confidence. A-Plan cheapest so far but no track cover
  11. Agreed, forge re circ - very efficient. Better having good function than noise
  12. Anyone had this done or know where you can get it done? Cost? Cheers Stuart
  13. A-Plan came back the cheapest without track cover. Decision now is whether to pay an extra £100 a year plus £50 for every track day I do or just take a risk on track. Mmmmmm!
  14. I've got an A4 page list of mods that I need to declare so the multi nationals won't touch me. I actually work in the industry so fully aware of what can go wrong if you "forget" to mention something! Seems Greenlight with Highway Insurance are the only ones with a built in track day section so unless A Plan come back with something dramatically cheaper than the renewal i'll be sticking with them. £50 for each track day aint too bad with double the excess. Just want the premium down a bit, well a big bit! Cheers for the replies so far....
  15. Afternoon everyone, that time of year again. Got a fairly heavily modded P1 and I do track days. With Highway through Greenlight Insurance at the mo. Tried - Adrian Flux - no joy Keith Michaels - can only match Greenlights price A Plan - waiting on them getting back to me. Anyone else had good service/price/cover from anyone else? Thanks in advance. Stuart
  16. yep, soak it and it makes a lot easier
  17. mighty fine whatever you call them. The ones in Glasgow just aint the same as their northern counterparts!
  18. Brilliant, cheers. Keep up the good work with the car and the thread. A top read
  19. excellent thread mate, hat off to you for the work you've done and time spent writing it up for us all to admire. Can I ask what clamps you are using for the FMIC pipework and where to get them? I'm having a nightmare time blowing hoses off at the moment with jubilee clips. Cheers
  20. Andy Forrest did have a limited number and did a group buy on Scoobynet I believe after they ran out. Was a bit cheaper than £1600 from memory. IIRC API engines do the 2.5 with forged rods and pistons for £1800. Don't quote me though
  21. nightmare mate, gutted for you
  22. usually behind n/s headlight?
  23. i've got the part number in the house if you're struggling
  24. the 321T spools 300rpm later than a 20G on a 2.0. Been checking for my P1. Dunno what the difference will be on the newer engine with the variable timing
