  1. Hello, and welcome. Nice example, with next to no miles too. No changes planned....so far ! Give it time. You'll get the comments of "lower it", "detango it" and so on, all of which help it look/feel that bit better. If it wasn't PPP'd the list would go on. Enjoy.
  2. Welcome, enjoy yourself. 04' WRX owner myself, not called Paul though. Get some pics up soon as you can then, give us a look.
  3. So is no-one going to mention the obvious jokes ?? Would feel a bit of a t*t with one of those fitted ? Apologies in advance, or is it only me that found that funny !?! Will i get in to trouble now !?
  4. Although some touches on the Redbull car that weren't too bad....but the colour is back to what you had !! The strips down the sides of the bonnet for example catch the eye but not over-powering. Mix-n-match.
  5. Thought your original decals were fine, so not antidecals just not for the new ones....so far. Fair enough, if you're determined to go for it, good on you for sticking to your guns, maybe instead of some more "no's" start offering some possible suggestions from what you had ? How's about think again about keeping the orange, not the nicest flavour, maybe even a different shade of orange ?? I saw a few months ago a carbon fibre scoop for sale that had WRC on the top of it, looked very nice, so how's about something on the scoop (not necessarily WRC) that you don't mind staring at when you're driving. What about reducing the size of the banners at the top of the windscreen/rear window ? Sometimes a bit less can have a better effect ?? Just a few small suggestions to play with to get this to work for you ?
  6. Have a 2004 WRX myself, was last August changed the front discs & pads. Asked the same question on here and to ASPerformance. Same reply from all. If it is for road use with type of power upgrade you're looking at doing then will be fine with OE discs and upgrade the pads. I went with Pagid RS421's which have been fine (huge difference first time pressed the brake pedal), but there are other types available that are much same price and as good. Think was advised not to go for red and/or yellow pads but not 100% sure about that.
  7. A straight fit, just remove the WRX surrounds and fit the STi covers on - takes a whole minute each side to do ! Think I got mine from Scoobyworld. Mine went from this (fog light you're obviously looking at) : to (just the fog cover to focus on): to recently this : Decals came off very easily after warming up the lettering with a hair dryer and picking off with finger nail...straight forward as that.
  8. Can't say the review made me want to even test drive one. Only real positive point was by the other two presenters at the end where they noted what other car can you get your family from 0-60 in around 5seconds for £25k....but really, who wants to do that to their family ! I quite liked the Scirroco myself, so it's not as fast as the STi but the GTi has always got good write up's but this makes it look better (here's hoping they've changed the seats material design), as long as you don't have tall people in the back. Can see sales of 3door GTi's slumping, perhaps not as much as WRX's though.
  9. Back to you Gus (search the threads and Gus has pics and everything). Maybe here : http://forums.sidc.co.uk/index.php?showtop...&hl=detango
  10. An old neighbour of mine, in his 50's, was waiting patiently in a car park for a car to come out of a space when a guy just drove in to it - words exchanged (non were abusive from the neighbour or so he says!!) and the ignorant space stealer and his son then beat neighbour up. They thought just driving off would get them off with it but both the neighbour and a passer by got his plate (obviously not the brightest father/son pairing !) - police caught up with them and they were charged with GBH, despite saying they were never in the car park but CCTV and an independant witness said differently. It was a parking space for goodness sake !!!!
  11. Way they should've been made in the first place !
  12. Was a little skeptical back when you first mentioned, but have to agree with others so far...looking good.
  13. Funny that so many silver cars receive the name "silver bullet", was same for my Civic Type-R, sold it to friends wife who call it Rhonda (as in Rhonda The Honda) ! Mind you my wife now calls my car Ruby (as in Ruby The Scooby) ! Bottom line Cal, good to see you still with an Impreza. Might have been £5k spent on the last one but you had fun doing it (keep trying to convince myself of the same!!), look at all your adventures, not to mention the informative write up's.
  14. Still £210 on Saturday for me and my wee newage WRX. That's it for another year...perhaps they'll actually make the roads round here useable - not holding my breath over that one !
  15. Nice set of cars and bikes (well one of the bikes, can't see the "L" plate one too well).
  16. Welcome. Also a Lanarkshire member, South side. Enjoy your stay, and get some pics up of your car.
  17. Dedication in the hunt for perfection when you take the spoiler off ! Good work though.
  18. Good find. If it's correct, doesn't feel quite as bad. Come October, wait till the fuel costs go up and then I'll re-try it.
  19. Healthy to have a good moan. Dare we even hint at enjoying ourselves, cars / drink (be safe kids and enjoy those two separately), and it's taxed. I think they feared a revolt if petrol went up again, although it is an easy tax for them as we need it...take pulblic transport, not as easy as it sounds if you live in a rural area, I'd have to take 2 buses and a train adding about 1.5 hours on to my commute each way if I tried and that's if they are on time / turn up. Here's a thought : commission an independent (at huge cost of course) look in to more closely the spending of MP's. Yes they've had a lot of bad press lately but it highlights the fact that the way they receive money, outwith their salary, really has been set up, by themselves I understand, to be taken advantage of. Some of the written stories are unbelievable. Only way they are ever going to listen is with our vote when the time finally comes round.
  20. Have you had a scan through Subaru picture websites for inspiration ? Something like e.g. scoobyphotos.com If remember right there is a graphics section in there to narrow the search down ~(was a while ago I looked though).
  21. Temptation is going to be too much for you Cal !!! May be just the exhaust...oh and an air filter...and so it begins !
  22. I've got a Porter Cable and have just built up confidence as gone along. If you buy a machine, as noted Polished Bliss give good advice and sell one, then start off with least abrasive polish you can until the marks are out. As a test of the paint gently run your finger nail over the scratch and if it catches in the mark(s) might not polish out, although polishing might help mask it a little. I have a black car which is one of the reasons I got a bit in to the whole cleaning thing, marks show up more. Finish is superb by machine though - hard work still but it's tougher by hand.
  23. Mmm, somethings just not quite right, might be the claw marks, perhaps a bit much up the side??
  24. Looks good Cal. Good news you're staying with a Subaru. Might have missed it but how's about a light tint on the back windows ? I'll give you till July before the mods start appearing !!
  25. Lets just hope that the film goes back to being a bit better than the 3rd one !
