  1. Yes along with all sorts of other bits including tyres.. But the Impreza is s storng machine and as we all know they love to be driven hard.. Despite being a road car the impreza will take a bit of abuse.. But yeah wouldn't do it too often unless you like large repair bills. Expect to break something sooner or later.. I personally wouldn't want to to it with my scoob, but if I had an old classic kicking around I'd be more than happy to have an aggressive play to learn how the car handles beyond the limits in a safe environment. Hmnn.. Good few inches of white stuff outside, with abandoned airfield just 2 miles away...
  2. That's class!! Good to see this sort of thing NOT being done on the public roads for a change.. Just hope it was his own car
  3. I respect it's a great car but overall styling doesn't do it for me.. Doesn't mean I don't want a wee poke around though Nice one Graham! Brave man getting a new car delivered in this weather!
  4. Kinda disagree with that... I did my grille inserts, fog light covers and splitter (1st time round) with spray cans.. And got a good finish.. Later used Tinned paint with proper paint gun for scoop/wing/splitter/side skirts.. Acceptable results.. Although I will admit up close and personal you can see the difference in texture, that's mostly because I was spraying outdoors, which is asking for trouble.. But the colour is pretty much spot on and still comes up shiny! I'm happy with the resilts I got..... Note all paint was from Halfords in Elgin As long as the paint is mixed properly it's more down to the method used, lots of time and patients is the key.. Du-Pont spray cans can now come with a decent spray nozzle unlike olders style cans which just spluttered and didn't give you smooth coverage.. Totally agree there... The paint on your car will already be aged and any re-spray to a single panel will always be different.. Note that because the scoop is plastic it will always have a slightly different finish to the bonnet and rest of the body.. Just look at any impreza under artificial lighting (petrol station lighting is good for that).. the scoop shows up differently.. 94H.. that sounds familair.. That'd be Red Mica then eBay is probably your best bet.. Keep an eye out for damaged impreza's.. Failing that as metnioend above maybe go for an standard STI 7 scoop.. But no Red Mica on Sti's so would need respray.. Also STI 7 scoops are almost like gold dust... Best gues for price of standard WRX scoop woudl be anythign from about £40 up to £100.. As a standard part it's more likely it's somethign someone wasn't rid of rather than want to make lots of money from.. Oh and if you come across a perfect Red Mica Bonnet to go with it lemme know. Was up at gelnburgie the other week and he's not got much lying aroudn these days.. He was saying he's winding back on Subaru Spares as he's just not shifting them Worth a try though.. you never know!
  5. Would definately be Silter/Titanium Ultraggerras Id go for if no accurate replicas.. Great set of wheels, not cheap but worth the money IMHO.. Would be 5x100 18" for me beign Bugeye WRX. So should be safe enough.. Sure enough revolution is cheapest but price has gone up the past 12 months
  6. OZ'ds without a doubt.. Not sure about the blue though... But as mentioned above, it'd be different! Dumb question time... Are those proper OZ's or replicas? Reason I ask is that the image shows two sets of hub holes.. OZ's tend to be single size only..? -- Answered my own question.. http://www.ozracing.com/at-team/wheels/rac...eggerita-hlt/en Don't tell welsho but you can get them in Orange! P.s. Anyone know if there's such a thing as OZ Ultraleggera Replicas.. Fancy a set of proper ones but keep spending the money on other stuff
  7. I dare someone to show up with one to a santa cruise event!
  8. I don't think he'll do it... He's already posted a time and it wasn't as good as hamiltons.. and if it was done in the last week or so it's gonna be cold and a bit slippy.. DOn't get me wrong I think he's a great driver (he is british afterall) but What woudl make good TV is a head2head between the two doing their lap(s) on the same day under similar conditions
  9. LOL! Not the full weight, but maybe it just gave it that bit more pulling power to get up the slight incline.. The truck was running but probably lacking that little xtra to get up the hill.
  10. I got off lightly with mine a couple years back.. No significant damage.. Hit at around 50-60mph.. Wouldn't of been so bad inf the thing kept running, but it stopped in the middle of the road to look at the car then carried on.. Whack!!! Related post from couple years ago: http://forums.sidc.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=116040 Spot the Deer kills on teh bottom left of the rear window Seen a few deer running around recently.. But now drivign a Ford Ka into work so if I hit a deer It's less of a problem, but the Ka will almost certainly come off worse
  11. LOL! actually you've doen a crackign job with yours.. Looks great and you've kept the GB### theme by adding your own GB340 branding. Looks sweet and still looks like a manufacturers Special edition! Rather than an aftermarket one off job ... Strange how sometimes you can get away with that....
  12. Quite like the gills on teh front wings, but can't see anythign special about the rest of it TBH.. 100% Agreee!! Don't like it when peopel put silly mods onto special edition.. Upgrade brakes and maybe a remap if you must but it was special before hand, all your doign is destroying what was special about it in the first place! IMHo
  13. That skid plate looks prety cool actually! Been planning a couple small tweaks to the front of the bug to make it more agressive.. Little cost (as always ), just not sure how it's goign to look in the flesh.. Photoshops look promising though .. sadly scoobs been off the road for weeks now with a dodgy rear hub / abs issues. I suspect something wasn't quite tightened after the RR incident. Buggered wheel bearing was diagnosed at the MOT this year but on further inspection after stripping down the hub and bearing it appears the drive shaft nut wasn't fitted securely which was the more likely cause of minor wheel wobble at the MOT I remember having a "moment" on the skye run on the way down to the monument, at one point the back end just felt very wrong on a easy right hand bend, pulled over thinking I had a puncture, but couldn't see anythign a miss.. Havent been too happy with the car since then, but think I've finally got the bottom of it!.. Currently waiting for a replacement hub to arrive so hopefully the car will be back on the go again soon
  14. Have to admit.. I did consider making one when I was looking at where to fit driving lamps! Woudl also of been good for protection against deer!
  15. Wot a mess!!! Can't wait to see this thing when it's finished!
  16. on topic - Onm the HID thing, I heards recently that you can get reflector friendly HiD bulbs (somtimes rated 'R' or something) which have a special filter on the bulb to help stop excessive light scatter when using with reflector based lamps
  17. Looks cool.. but... still not a fan Not unless someone can sort the rear end out! its far too droopy!
  18. Hah cool! Great looking machine! Me Likey! Have been tempted a couple of times to ditch the Ka and get a cheap Mr2 or something as that "Need for Speed" is still there. But gave it an early crimbo pressie last week with a tank of V-Power so that'll have to do me just now. Surprisingly it makes a difference on a ol iron engine!... Scoob seems to have been off the road more than on it this year. I'm starting to suspect the problems all stemmed from the RR day incident but who knows, it's snowballed a bit since then..
  19. Good point... But they should have all come with the WRSport pack IMHO... P.s. *drool*
  20. Would have said Low or mid spoiler.. But voted for none.. Some classics can get away with no rear wing, Newages not so much IMHO. Over in the US de-winging seems pretty popular and my bro's Bug WRX never had a wing on it.. But BIG wings (and scoops for that matter) on classics just doesn't look right to me.. Prefer the more standard low/mid wings and if you have none you can easily add one on later It's different and each to their own, depends on how the rest of the car looks and whether or not it balances out.. But I think the Impreza looks too plain without one, just needs an extra detail at the back which seems missing.. ... having said all that... I'm a big fan of RB5's .. which of course is a classic with a big prodrive wing on the back
  21. Whoops! Hopefully that testimonial will be mentioned in court!
  22. I ditched my shell credit card coupel months back after said they were dropping the cashback offer.. That and their own shell employees decided to flog my credit card details to somone in Australia and rack up over £1,200 on my card! Their service was apawling and took 10.5 months to get it resolved after initially getting promised it woudl take no longer than 10 days! THey F*&KED up my credit rating, threatened me with legal action as I wasn't paying them the £1,200 in fraud which they told me NOT to pay!!! Totally un-impress and have now heard from many others who have had the same experience after buying from shell garages
  23. As far as I know that's correct theres no recce available for the stages.. Also for the past coupel of years the SRC has tried to leave things as late as possible before releasing details of stages so crews dont go up a few weeks before hand to scout the stage. Which is why there is the need for the one size fits all pace notes. Which are, as rightly said, a guide. But does sound like a nasty error. Which on all the notes produced for all the events, it's always possible your going to miss something along the way or theres not enough detail of every pebble on the surface... But worthy of a £2m court case? I wouldn't have thought so..
  24. You really wanna know! Trying to figure out how to diagnose a dodgy ABS problem with the car that doesn't flag up an error code .. but that'll probably result in a different thread altogether you did ask
