  1. welcome to the madhouse. I believe the usual warning of lock up your credit card and throw away the key will be required but I get the feeling you already ignore that rule.
  2. You'll feel more comfortable if you meet everyone next thursday at the glasgow meet first mate rather than just the santa crusie. You know you want to.
  3. If they do blue ones they have a deal there.
  4. Your problem is you clearly know html but thats not the code the forums use. Its BBcode Ditch the <img src= and border=0 > stuff. Use [ img ]imageaddresshere[ /img ] without the spaces
  5. Ay chance of people putting like to the stuff there recommening here or how to do what there saying. I couldn't tell you a boost soleniod if it hit me on the head.
  6. So far since getting me car I've went on the September run (owned the car less than a week at that time) and the October Glasgow meet even though im from Kilmarnock. Just not been free on the Ayrshire nights so far. I also joined in the Edinburgh night out when the Americans came over to visit. Last night on a whim I showed up at the Other SIDC and it was great to start to recognise a few people. If you try to get involveed people will get to know you. I'm all for helping out the Santa Cruise, (75 raffel tickets so far...) as well as its a fantastic cause. I'll be there in December so thats another occasion to meet people. Don't get me wrong I wouldnt know someone from the Aberdeen area yet, not been to enough big meets but I'm sure a few people from the Glasgow area now know me and I know them. I can't even talk shop with them as quite frankly my car knowledge is completly non existant in comparion (last car was a 1 litre micra) but by talking to them I alsa have learned a lot and will continue to do so. (Ok maybe I now know more about squirrel's than cars but thats an unfortunate side effect) A lot of it can be down to how you come accross when you first talk to others rather than other people having to talk to you first. If you make a little effort it can go a long way to making you another member of the SIDC.

  8. the phrase "I smell sh**e" springs to mind most of the way through that auction. for the rest of it I just wonder who is he actually trying to impress? a potential buyer or his own ego?

  10. You should be ok in getting the recordings from the calls mate, most call centes archive them away every 3 months or so but keep them for 2 years to comply with ofcom recomendations.I have never had it happen with the Call Centre I work at but you can probably request a copy of the call recordings for yourself so that you can listen to them incase they claim you did. you never know though, by your insurer paying out against your will you may well have a chance of claim against them which they will most probably want to sweep under the carpet rather than deal with. best of luck mate.
  11. Now I feel robbed, I'm £1800 at 22 with 2 years no claims, pass plus and clean licence. I tried elephant as well. Wonder if its the area? Galston isn't exactly what you would call a NED free zone. Hence the moving to a nice area at the outskirts of Kilmarnock in January.
  12. Interesting.... So we now have an alternative when the Shell in Kilmarnock runs out again. I work in irvine and im due to fill up so I'll try the stuff from Tesco and see what its like.
  13. Yeah stick me down for 25 tickets. Peter I touch goats.
  14. Enemy evo spotted sir! Excellent prepare a torpedo.. We don't have any torpedos sir? Then you petter prepare for a kamikaze torpedo launch out the window if necessary!!
  15. god damn, I pay nearly that for mine. however I knew it was gonna be a hell of a lot. Difference is i only have 2 years no claims and I'm 22. I've only had a licence for 3 as well and do double that milage in a year. You should be able to find a much lower quote than that. I bought my scooby after already getting quotes so I knew what I was in for.
  16. Yes he should have... however I get the same issue with my classic gear box. i need to go into second first then into reverse. Once its warmed up sometimes it works but I generally just go 2nd then reverse out of habbit now.
  17. This is a mess isn't it. Right I was in a similar situation here. I bumped the back of another drivers car at a roundabout. Bumpers of both cars needed replaced. We swpaed insurance details and all other formalites. She put in a claim to her insurance company for the repairs carried out without asking me. I then recieved a letter stating that I was believed to be at fault and liable etc...from her insurance company. I called them and stated that I was not accepting liability. I phoned her up. Asked her what the total bill was for repair to her car and it came to £145. My excess at the time was £300 however losing 2 years no claims while only 22 years old and paying it all didnt sound like a good idea to me so I asked her to call of her insurance company and I would send her a cheque for the bill. She was fine by this, cashed it and everyone was happy. I never did bother getting my front bumper replaced as it was an old car and still drove fine. (in fairness mine was goosed, hers was scratched a little) Now in your case where this other driver is getting £800 for repairs I'd be interested to know. Ask for a breakdown of the bill so they can prove thats what it cost. What you need to work out it are you cheeper forking out your own cash to repair both carsto avoide losing no claims and your premiums going up for the next 3-4 years till you get your no claims back again. Or are you better off paying your excess (£350) and paying the higher premiums that come with it for the next yew years. Which ever figure comes out less wins.
  18. seen a lot of these style things before. lol., still good though... going to send that to a few mates just now.
