Nah, if your swapping out for an MOT, then you wouldn't need to get it mapped for that, just drive off boost that's all...
-
John is so totally right here, its the same reason that I never blank plates... if you were that worried, it would NEVER get out of the garage... You would never drive around town. Seriously, a burglar is not going to drive 100miles on the strength of an 18month old image of a car that might be there, or might just be a visiting friend... or they might have moved... etc... the ones that you have to worry about are the ones that know the area and know the places to look. they are not going to waste their time on google maps, they are going to walk round to the area that they think they are not going to get caught in, and then scope your house out... they are probably the ones that have stood watching you driving around town a dozen times last night...

heheh... OK, so we have established that no one TRIES to take the kids out, the kids are just clearly lucky when one law dis-abiding citizen, who NEVER goes over the speed limit in town, just happens to have a lapse of concentration and be doing twice the speed limit through that school zone... oops... Thing is John, we know its not you, we know you are not the one that will do that... but people DO speed past schools, its a fact of life, I've seen it happen, thats how accidents happen... are those traffic calming mesures really that bad then? Or in that little street where kids like to play outside their house, the same street where people dont like the main roads because the council are muppets and wont deal with the congestion, so they take the rat-run instead... Only thing is, the people that are motivated to take that rat-run tend to do it because they are in a hurry, perhaps running late for that all-important meeting... Oops... Was that a child...? Did they mean to do it...? I'm not trying to make you look a fool John, not in the slightest, I wouldn't, because I think of you as a mate, which means that I'm allowed to take the piss... *Just for anyone reading please note that he's not ACTUALLY making that point - It's Just banter* Nah, but on a more serious note, its not the fact that they are implementing the traffic calming measures, its more the way that they are implemented that's the problem I know that you and many others John have been hit by the speed bump destruction, all down to poor maintenance of the raods, when they are poorly maintained BEFORE they start putting down more measures that they cannot afford to maintain... its a vicious circle, but that does not mean that some of these measures do not need to be in place... they are there for a reason. if you want to go fast, we'll you've seen me out... I cannot turnaround on here and say that speeding is all breeds of wrong, because my politics don't work like that, but theres a time and a place, a lot of people cannot get that sunk in, dont get angry at the gov. for implementing these measures, get angry at the dickheads killing kids... By the same twist, number plate regs are there for a reason, and you have to make a concise decision to put an illeagal plate on your car. Would you bolt on a different turbo without thinking about the concequences of what could do to your engine? (on standard internals) Engines are complex things, Number plates are not. Yet like it or not, the plates are every bit as important as the engine. but for very different - very good - reasons...

Oh, also, I'm sure that there is a bung for them...

Pretty much what bobby said... I I'm sure there are some places that have Spare cats lying about... Don't know what they are for, certainly don't think they are for MOT porpoises.... Know what I mean... Think is, if you are fitting a cat permanently, then do you not need to have the car remapped...? I certainly wouldn't change something like that without having it remapped? or perhaps thats Paranoia talking...?
-
Well they are both true, But I should have put more emphasis on "SHOULD" perhaps italics or bold might have helped....

ha Kenny, that would be legendary!!!! Take pics!!!! John, FFS mate, You sound so hard done by, I agree that there are so many things that do take away from the joy of driving, but mostly its all about town... I mean listen to yourself, You mention School Zones???? Mate, don't you have kids???? I mean really? Speed humps I detest, but I also hate People speeding past schools and my house... theres no win there... I'd rather that some knobhead wasn't trying to wipe out YOUR KIDS.... its NOT ****ING DIFFICULT to keep your car legal... not in the slightest... so stop bitching about it... and I will at this time point out that on both my bikes, my plates were illegal. Blatantly. But I also knew that if I got pulled for them, then its a fair cop, I'm not going to whine about it, I know the law, I'll just take the hit for it... Peace out! (Oh, and edited to add: that I was said that you got off lightly I was referring to the Bobbies, some being infinitely bigger c*nts than others...)
-
if they are a dealer/service centre then they should hold a stock.... otherwise they are not much use...
-
Ooh, yeah Dent, see what you mean, thats a horrid dent there in your wing mate! I have one similar, and I've been meaning to get it pulled for a long time...
-
I don't know, I don't see what the fuss is here, you broke the law, as it stands, you got caught. It's a real bugger, but you know the rules, so just take the hit... Cheesy as it is, if you cant do the time, don't do the crime... Same as speeding, if you drive above the legal limit, and get caught, whether you agree with the policy or not, you have still broken the rules... Only thing that pisses me off about situations like this, is that the attitude test only goes one way, and some Police (I have been at the receiving end from some bloody decent coppers - Even when I got banned a number of years ago) think that they don't need to pass the same test... It is a public service at the end of the day, and sometimes a little bit of manners goes a long way, and people might not be so against them, for the sake of a few guys that let power go to their heads... In fact, think yourself lucky, I know a few guys that have had run-ins with the local bobbies south of the city, for pressed plates (the VAG boys love their pressed plates) Spacing lettering, are all right, its just the material... the bobbies have been proper a***y about it, and actually ripped the plates off the car because they were not screwed on, but using the sticky pads, as far as I know, these are not illegal(?) confiscated the plates, and then, the coppers told them they are not allowed to move the car because it has no plates... You may not like it, but you got off well light...
-
Holy cow! Thats not much fun is it!!! To e honest, speak to the bobbies, they might recover it... and if they wont, then you might get some cash for it from the scrappies...

Organic Or Plastic Media Blasting - Anywhere In Central Scotland?

Sorry, What? -
That's Crap I know, I used to get regular reminders from Town and county, I don't think that I've had a reminder from them now for the last couple of years... You can stick as many stickers as you like I guarantee that after 3 months at the maximum, you will never look at that sticker again untill you are at the MOT station. Its a massive waste of money, and a massive waste of time... and to make things worse, a couple of years ago, I never got the reminder through for the road tax, so I never renewed it (I didn't know) and they fined me £80 or whatever it was, I complained, they told me that they were not obligated to tell me, and that its my fault. I had to pay. C*nts. Same Deal too, the dates on your windscreen, but how often do you check it, and how often is the first that you know about your road tax is when the letter drops through your door. Its basic human behavior.

And your surprised how? I'd never let anyone from Halfrauds anywhere near my car... To be honest mate, you would have been a load better off just buying off the internet where prices are INFINITLY better... it just means that you don't get them NOW... But then, after them messing you about, your no better off anyway... Sucks mate, hope that you can get it sorted out soon enough, although, like Bri said, should be straight forward to just do it yourself...
-
Yeah, I never look on the main site... and I never go on ScabbyNet either... I barely have time for what crap I do get up to... So, then this post is for all those who haven't seen them...

So, wheres the updates then???
-
Saw this in Banzai the other day, Revolution are doing these... well, I say that, but I cant seem to find them on the website, so perhaps they have not put them for sale yet, but I dare say that if you call them, they might have more info about them... Banzai say they are £249 though... http://www.revolution247.com/ By the sounds of things can be fitted and removed in about 15 mintues too, so no messing about, when it comes to your daily driver... Would certainly put paid to the debate on what to do to fit your harnesses on track days...

Looks great!

What did we tell you!!!

You know, I just noticed your name at the bottom of the board, and thought, that cant be right, Gus' name is the wrong colour, that has to be a silly mistake, I then looked at it... I nearly fell off my seat laughing!!!!!!!!! and for exactly the reason that others have pointed out, ARE YOU ACTUALLY GOING TO TURN UP TO ANYTHING!!!!!!!! Serious though, It'd be nice if you did, as we've been trying to remember what it is that you look like!!!!
-
I don't know, i think that I might have to just get a double room to myself now!!!!!! I'm all scared!!!!!!! Still, Once I've had a few cutting me up may not be safe...

Christ, well i guess that I had better get the finger out and book something, even though I have no idea whether I will actually make it... Does someone need a wing-man for a twin room, who may, or may-not actually turn up? If So, I'm yer maun!
