I'm really pleased you made the jump and went to see Andy. You see what we were all talking about now? He is a wizard and we are not worthy! Well chosen parts mate and giving fantastic results. Surprised you posted already, as I thought you would be out spending V-power tokens. Enjoy it mate, but you'll have to watch ur speed now as it will quickly get to crazy levels. Any chance of a passenger ride sometime? Well done again.

I'm looking for a bit of safety, not really that bothered about powergains. Wouldn't it need to be mapped again for Nanaki to see any power gains? -

Anyone know how difficult fitting an STIv5 TMIC into a MY98UK car is? -
GaryD come out of the closet! Love your sig mate..... Welsho really enjoy yourself. Your car will be transformed. Make sure you don't take too much caffeine, Red Bull or other stimulants. Believe me - You won't need them. Tell Andy from me.

Welsho. I would advise you purchase some http://www.mediquip.co.uk/shop/show.php?q=adult because one way or another you are going to need them. Either you won't want to get outa the car to go OR you'll mess yourself because of the performance. Good on ya mate. Sweet dreams.

Great to meet you Seafar and chat about our Wagons. The more I look into it, the more I think that I'm just going to try and get an STI v5 TMIC. The threads I'd looked at about STIv8 TMIC were here:- http://bbs.scoobynet.com/general-technical...ic-wrx-how.html http://bbs.scoobynet.com/projects-40/39009...ne-started.html It really does seem like too much hard work and I would be amply cooled on my little turbo. If I change to a 2.5 engine and a bigger turbo at a later date I'll prob go for a FMIC. Until then, I'll try and get a STIv5 TMIC. Seafar you don't want to swap TMIC's do you? lol -
What Would You Do With This Car And This Budget
mrbadger replied to ScoobySounds's topic in Scottish Scoobies
Duncan will look after you very well. Go with his advice, as he really knows his stuff. Duncan sorted the suspension out on my car, including 4 wheel alignment and it made a big difference. I haven't done my brakes yet, so will watch this thread carefully to see what people recommend. -
I got so excited on the fumes of V-Power that I forgot to take a decent amount of photo's. I'm sure someone took some photos at Hillington? Great chatting to those I managed to get round. A few of us 'Wagoneers' got chatting and time flew past. I didn't manage to speak to as many peeps as I'd have liked. Was a good night - but I wanted to go for a big drive afterwards. Where did all the red cars go? Was mine the only one there? I'm sure there was another one at Hillington.

So what do you have to do to get a safe 400bhp through the gearbox on a classic?
-
Hi mate... Welcome.
-
Likewise - welcome and 'mon the Classics!
-
Looks a cracking example. Looks like it would be huge fun too. Enjoy!
-
Signed in here too. Very noticable difference. Well done all involved!

Thumbs up to infinity components here. Using Corsa speaker spacers to give clearance.

About 240 going up to 280 per tank depending on roads and right foot. Worst so far for a tank of V-power is 230 miles. It's not a major difference but I expected worse consumption after modding from standard. It's about 20-40 miles more than I used to get per tank in standard form.

Can't imagine there would be that many vans around, but the ones i see regularly (especially Barrhead) is stickered up. (On the side where you won't see it 'til you're at it). What was the back of the van like? Darkened windows? sliding window open? I am pretty sure it was a scamera van. White transit van facing oncoming traffic, no markings on front or on the side that was nearest the road. I didn't get a chance to see the back of it as it was up against trees.Probably about a 55 plate or newer, so it seemed very out of place at the side of the road at 7:00pm. There was some sort of equipment pointing towards oncoming traffic, either behind the drivers or passenger seat - or possibly in the passenger seat. Looked like a camera anyway. I was looking at info on scamera vans and the markings on them vary widely from clear to hardly any - http://www.speedcam.co.uk/van2.htm

I've a 98 UK wagon and what a difference after it got an Apexi FC and map from Andy Forrest. Better fuel consumption and loads more power. Lots of features on the Apexi that you can monitor. One of the best mods I've done so far.

Was travelling out on the back road out of Bishopbriggs past the leisure center on Balmuildy Rd tonight, towards Bearsden as this is usually quite a fun road to drive. Coming out of the 30 limit past the leisure center, it used to be a national speed limit and I would normally give it a bit of a squirt up the hill, when I noticed new 40 limit signs were up. I resisted and pootled up at 40 and on the brow of the hill noticed a white ford transit van in a weird place (no visable markings) parked up beside a fence facing on coming traffic. I'm sure it was a scamera van with no visible markings. Nearly caught me out. The van was gone later on when I went back with my tools [] . I presume this white transit van is going to be around the Glasgow area. Thought I'd give you a heads up on the van and the new speed limit incase any of you know this road.

Congrats. Many sleepless nights ahead mate. Your friendly Scooby forums are here night and day for you to trawl through in those wee hours when you aren't sleeping!

What did you fall in love with? Was it the 6 point welded rollcage made of jelly? Or the Sparco 6 point harness with ***** protection? Or the front strut brace (it took me a while to think about this one)?

I use the Meguiars #82 and Professional Paste Wax #16

HELP! Boost readings at idle -210mmHg and reasonably static +-1mmHg
mrbadger replied to mrbadger's topic in Scottish Scoobies
I got my problem sorted with many thanks to those who helped and got involved. The air leak was somewhere between the directional valve and the charcoal cannister (most likely the valve itself). The vacuum hose is disconnected from the one way valve and blocked for the moment. I'm getting around -475mmHg reading on idle - going higher on over-run. I'll get a replacement valve sometime soon if I can find a donor car. Just to put this finally to bed if anyone is searching and has the same problem.
