  1. I've gone for adjustable KYB AGX struts and Eibach Pro springs (30mm drop). It's a real pain having leaky shocks, coz I've only just had dot 5.1 put in my brake lines and will have to re-do them for the struts Anyway - this should help the handling! I'll keep you all informed.
  2. I've found why the car is so wallowy over bumps and takes ages to settle down. Surprise - surprise the rear struts are leaky. It looks like i've got a load of paving slabs in the back of my wagon! I'll have to put some under the bonnet to level the car up, as it looks better lower (it must be about 30mm) I like the lower look of the car and would like to drop the height by about 30mm from std heights. Any advice on what I should go for? Coilovers or dampers and springs? I don't want a bone shaker, just something to handle well with a comfortable ride. I'm used to driving a CooperS with runflats and that is about as stiff as I would want to go. Remember it is a wagon, and I do want to spend money on other stuff! Any advice on brands/types would be gratefully appreciated.
  3. Got my wagon back this evening. It's been in for a service and it's 2nd timing belt change of it's life (@ 70k - just to make sure). It also had fan belt change, new original filter, new Silkolene10/50W ProS, new gearbox oil, new diff oil, dot 5.1, and Goodrich braided brake hoses. Lubricants and fluids with thanks to Guy @ Opie.... Why is the oil pink? lol I'm now taking it easy for a couple of days to let everything settle in. The brakes are a major improvement with pedal feel down to the braided hoses and dot 5.1. Found my rear struts have a leak (might be something to do with the handling eh??). This will need to be looked into. Anyway.... Still recovering from that Rest&BeThankful trip. I did rest and am thankful I made it!! It was good to meet those of you who were there! And now I have replaced my keyfob battery!!! Thanks for the welcome everybody!!
  4. http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-7...p;q=ghost+rider - Nice driving and riding http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=29...p;q=Nurburgring - What an amazingly quick car! http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-6...p;q=ghost+rider - This bike is amazining (but u have 2 watch it to see how mad the rider is!)
  5. Once the charcoal ran out, we started using peoples legs as fuel....
  6. Luckily I sell the batteries at work Only thing is I gotta take my car in for a service tommorrow - so the mechanic is gonna have fun! Anyone get a picture of my wagon? Thanks again to all... Specially the organisers and those who bought the bbq's for warmth - oh yeah and for cooking.
  7. Yes, enjoyed it... Probably gonna get all the names wrong for the next month.... I'm useless with names. Again good to put names to faces, and cars to names. I can't beleive my battert in my alarm ran out. It worked with Big Davies tip of warming it up under my armpit! You are a very friendly bunch. Enjoyed the burger very much. Thank you! In trouble with the Mrs now.. I better go (as I said about 20 times when I was there!) 11. Sad to hear the news. I didn't know him, but I'm sure he will be missed by family and friends and the Scooby community here. Thoughts are with the family.
  12. Thanks for the recommendations. Any recommendatations on pads? Any recommendations on who to get to fit my exhaust in Glasgow? Will I need to buy a heat wrap for the downpipe? Any advice on Exhaust type (turbo back for road use) and air filter? And here's a pic - complete with towbar!!:- Cheers Duncan

  14. What does the dump valve give you extra other than a whoosh on gear changes? Is it a performance increase? Sorry for my ignorance! [:$] Cheers Duncan
  15. That's chav-tastic! Pure Burberry class man... I bet that wasn't water on the circuit - it was bucky that u spilt. Love the power drifts out the corner in the wet Ok, So I guess I'll get the handling sorted with some of the recommendations (although there seem to be a lot of different types). Is it the items below? :- WHITELINE ANTILIFT KIT STEELWISHBONES CLASSIC Adds +0.5 deg caster plus anti-lift Whiteline subaru droplinks H/D KLC30 Heavy Duty version of KLC20A OR WHITELINE SUBARU H/D REAR DROPLINKS Whiteline Sub frame lock kitLock diff carrier to body Probably missed other kit out.... BUT what about the tuning side? Exhaust, Air Filter etc..... Recommendations? Is the Ninja Hi-flow turbo-back system including hi-flow cat downpipe ok? Panel filter or bolt on? Also, on a Glasgow based bodyshop for the sprayin..... Recommendations? Also, recommendations on braking performance, pads and pedal feel improvements welcomed... Andy F has got in touch with me and I think I'm gonna go for the Apexi FC - [] I just joined SIDC for £30 Yeah! Cheers Duncan
  16. Thanks Dougster I'll look into the cost of the window tinting tommorrow... Going to bed now - as I'm getting too exciteable looking at all these scooby forums.... Cheers Duncan
  17. That is one nice white Wagon. They look so good in White, Silver or Green and de-tango'd.. What make and size of wheels are on that? Also which size tyres? I like jammy wagon wheels... Bad joke - sorry.....I might well be interested in wheels... What are the differences in going from std 16" alloys and tyres to 17" with lower profile tyres? On my old mini had17's and run-flats and apparently the 16's handled better (non run-flat). You sellin the tyres with em? Who'd you get to do the black out windows? Looks like a good job! Might put that on the list too... Give me some advice on the other stuff pleeze everybody, coz I'm dyin to get this ordered up this week! Duncan
  18. Yes - I am a noob with a Scoob, and I need advice on how to spend cash on my wagon! I got it on Wednesday and I'm excited.....It's a red '98 turbo wagon. Yes - a wagon, so I can fit a pram in.....It seems as tho it has been looked after pretty well, FSH and has no mods (yet!), standard 16" alloys etc. It's done 70,000 miles. Now - the good bit..... I have a bit of money left over from the sale of my CooperS, and I'd like to spend it on:- A good going over for problems (possibly oil 5/40 or 10/40 Fully Synth Silkolene according to oilman, standard filter, Gearbox oil change - as first and second seem a little clunky, check timing belt - it was changed at 40 or 45k) Reliably boosting the power (Looking at Ninja turbo back - hi flow 100cell cat downpipe and rearbox, Hi-flow air filter - also very tempted by Andy Forrest's know how and Apexi FC) Improving body roll (its a big car so I can't expect wonders on this one) Respray bonnet (stone chips) and rear spoiler (fading colour/flaking laquer). I heard there is a place in Kirkintilloch or Kilsyth that is good? Making sure the brakes will stop me (Braided brake hose for improved pedal feel and dot 5.1) This seems like a great community and ur a really friendly bunch. I heard from a friend of a friend of Malky's about the fire and how friendly and helpful you lot were when another scoobie owner is in need, and it's a great credit to ya all! So, to sum up - I'm looking for reliable performance, max spend £1000 to £1500 on the lot. I don't want it to be extremely loud if possible. Any advice anyone on the five items above?? I live in the Glasgow area. Cheers Duncan PS. I saw a really nice looking dark green wagon with 17/18" alloys in the Falkirk area (I'm not saying where exactly). Anyway - nice motor whoever u r!
