  1. I phoned Scottish Subaru Spares in Paisley today as I'm looking for a part. The guys there were very helpful and said they would put the bit aside, and they were open till 5pm. My wife kindly travelled over from the north side of Glasgow to pick it up, but I got a call from her at 4:30pm, it was all locked up and closed. She wasn't a happy bunny at all. I'm sure they had good reason for shutting up early as they new she was coming over. I expect it must've been some kind of emergency, either that or they all went home early via the ice cream van on this lovely hot sunny day I'm going to wave the peace flag at the Mrs.....
  2. £15 for spectators? That's gonna be a little steep for me to convince the Mrs to come. Are you sure thats not £15 for going on the track? I tried phoning Crail Raceway to confirm prices, but just got an answerphone. Latest weather forecast: http://www.bbc.co.uk/weather/5day.shtml?id=2369
  3. Kenny - thanks for the info mate. I'll see what the family want to do, and if the weather is good i'll maybe see some of you up there (forecast is sunny intervals at the moment).
  4. What time is the start and what do you have to do if you want to take your car on? I looked at the crail website and can't find any info. Is it a suitable family event? How much does it cost? If I can make it it will probably be about 1:30pm and not sure if it's worth it at that time?
  5. 2 trucks on an 1/8th mile Drag strip. Watch this with your speakers turned up loud for full effect. I like the little flashes of flames that come out of the exhaust. http://videos.streetfire.net/video/1f7ff00...8dc009eb91b.htm I heard Andy.F is going to be putting one of these engines in his drag machine
  6. What time does it start? I really would love to see you flying down the 1/4 mile..... Is the race car the white one? (the blue one is the rocket ship?)
  7. mmm... I am a badger. I hope Captain Rex isn't going to badger-me sensless. Locking the doors now....
  8. Love the wagon mate - V Tidy. Interior is superb. I missed the last Glasgow run. Hopefully the next one tho. I've got a few mods on mine and it has been well worth it
  9. Good advice Nanaki Other things can help get you slightly closer to your estimated connection speed, such as good quality ADSL filter(s), making sure your router is plugged into the main BT phone point in the house (eg no extensions, try plugging in direct into the BT test socket), check a speed test on another PC/laptop plugged into your router to rule out software/hardware problems, and the dreaded spyware. Mods shouldn't this thread be moved to off topic? Sorry guys, but I hate reading/posting about work when I want to breath fresh V-power vapours......
  10. Sounds like you are currently on an ADSL product (Max 2Mbps) rather than an ADSL Max product (Max 8Mbps). These figures are dependant on line quality and distance from the exchange. For a rough prediction of estimated speeds on ADSL & ADSL Max products - http://www.btwholesale.com/getbroadband and stick in ur number on the right-hand-side. Most service providers use bandwidth throttling at peak times, so it may be this slowing you down. (Eg, Virgin are 4pm to midnight throttling). No comment on AOL It is worth investigating other packages if you are on an ADSL product, but you may not get full estimated speed as it depends on line quality all the way from the exchange to your router.
  11. pm'd ya Welso. Squirell - Badgers in the combustion chamber have a NOS like cooling effect, but I didn't know about kittens. Even if the Higgy could get a bundle more BHP out of it, do you think he would be crazy enough to try? Yes, I thought so too. Over 500bhp out of a WRX - pure mental. Well done mate!
  12. Wow... Nice one mate. Bet you enjoyed the journey back home. That's the best bit after a mapping session with Andy F! I still can't believe I'm doing more MPG after I got mine mapped for the first time. All hail Andy F.....
  13. I was looking for a Badger buster.... Anyone???? Welcome and enjoy the community
  14. I have a MY98, and I was recommended (By Oilman) Silkolene ProS 10W50. I use it for fast road use. Managed to get a group buy somewhere. Check with someone who knows (not me) and will ask you about your car and how you drive.
  15. Andy was saying the -225 reading was static and normally if it's a mechanical problem you would still see this number fluctuating. Apparently it's clipping when the boost is set to 1.2 because of this. I'm running on the 1.15 setting at the moment . It's a weird one. I'll have another good look at the hoses this morning to double check. Even set at 1.15 it goes pretty well for a wagon I have always been keeping an eye on the forums when I can, but it is good to be back posting. It's is pretty difficult balancing ffinding time with my young family, sleep and my scooby. And yes, I think it took me 2 weeks after I got the car to be sliding down that slippery slope and start modding
  16. I'm just back from mapping with Andy F. My car is much improved now, and I can see why he is recommended by so many people. People like Andy F., Greersport, Meercat, Hypertech (& I'm sure plenty of others), all make the experience of owning a Scooby a pleasure. Apparently my boost sensor is giving weird readings -225? at idle. If any one has one fo a MY98 pm me please.
  17. I'm not sure if these are legal in the UK? http://www.nothingtoxic.com/media/11295288...ng_Flame_Device I like their style!
  18. Yeah please explain. I have a MY98UK Turbo and I was looking to do this. I've been told that the later top mounts are an ideal swap out, and won't limit me as I don't want to go above 400bhp.
  19. I'm glad you are OK mate - really scary stuff. Sounds like you did the right thing under extreme pressure. Well done for keeping it together. I think I would have just crapped myself. I remember seeing a program a few months back, that went into anti car jacking/evasive driving techniques. The only thing I remember is make sure you can at least see the car in fronts rear tyres. I thought it was interesting, but never thought anyone would need it in Scotland! I found this link http://www.securityandsafety.co.uk/main6.htm that seems to offer some good general advice. I'll be keeping an eye out.
  20. Don't think it was me? I do have a red wagon with an SIDC sticker tho!
