~ ~ Cal ~~ Posted January 7, 2005 Posted January 7, 2005 As of 1300 hrs today I became a Scooby owner Traded in the CTR ( which I will dearly miss ) for an 02 black bug-eye with morrettes conversion......... Got it from T&C Aberdeen after getting exactly what wanted for the CTR Likely paid over the odds but I like peace of mind buying from a dealer. The car belonged to an offshore worker and previously had the regi " DON ** V" Anyone know him ? He only did 31k miles in it in 2.5 yrs which ain't too bad So be prepared for many questions from my goodself. I knew when i joined this forum that calling my self anything Honda related ( e.g Cal CTR) would be a waste of time as I have wanted a Scoob since 5th year in school when my dad had a classic Scooby ( he's now got the 172 Cup that you see on track at KH). TBH I could afford way more but I have recently got engaged and was REALLY pushin' my luck to get this far ! Now i just need to get it insured before i pick it up next Thursday Looking forward to actually joining the SIDC and meeting more of you guys out there PICCY of new car Cheers Cal p.s I need an new exhaust - it's SO quiet just now . Any other mod ideas - burds not into high spoiler so may invest in the rear spoiler raisers to start with ? Dying to get the PPP and new pro-drive rims.
ANDYJDMSTI Posted January 7, 2005 Posted January 7, 2005 Cal, nice one buddy, welcome to the club for proper Will no doubt see u at KH soon
evojkp Posted January 7, 2005 Posted January 7, 2005 Congrats Cal. It's been a while in the pipeline. Looking forward to a duel at Knockhill soon.
jamie_wood Posted January 7, 2005 Posted January 7, 2005 Good call!! Another Scottish Scooby Nice one Cal
scuba dou Posted January 7, 2005 Posted January 7, 2005 Excellent news Cal. Great to have another local in a Scooby, not that there was anything wrong with your last rocket ship. First thing you need to change is the exhaust bud and if I can help let me know. I am selling two back boxes and you could borrow the Prodrive one to keep you going....until I sell it at least. My baby will be transported down south next week on a flat bed and come back with a new clutch assy...and perhaps breathing a little deeper with a 3? system, then the Sti Titanium one will be for sale but looks like it will be on a WR1 soon for a ?test sound/drive? Like I say great news.
Nelsdir Posted January 7, 2005 Posted January 7, 2005 Congrats m8 - glad you got what you were looking for Neil
robinh20mrv Posted January 7, 2005 Posted January 7, 2005 well done m8, now you need to start the mods!! cheers robin.
Grovit Posted January 7, 2005 Posted January 7, 2005 Well done Calsonic - looking forward to seeing the beast (and wuppin' yo ass in my black soob!!!)
kennyi Posted January 7, 2005 Posted January 7, 2005 Well bugger off then! Away and play with your real friends Nice on mate. Natalie finally came round to the idea then?
~ ~ Cal ~~ Posted January 7, 2005 Author Posted January 7, 2005 Cheers guys and thanks for the welcome ( even though I've been lurking guilty in here before with the CTR) Jools - thanks for the offer. Bob from T&C took me out in a bugly with just the pro-drivve BB and I could barely hear the zorst althought it was slightly noiser than standard. Why are these buggies so quiet ? Is it just down the pleasing the American market or is the exhaust gases phased differently or something ? Ideally I need something that i can hear inside that car to let me know that the boxers at work in fron of my nose. The CTR's system was VERY loud so I need to hear the burble without pissing off the fiancee. That's if she even lets me mod it ! Would a C&C midpipe do the job if i left the stock BB in place ( i.e the fiancee would see no visual difference Maybe see y'all the next Abz meet Thanks again Cal p.s Jools - shall we have a 2nd crack at the clip of your car at Alford ? It may be the only audio visual momento of you titanium system you'll have soon ! I have the file ready for FTP upload and it's only 13 Mb if you don't mind joe public being able to view it ? p.p.s on another tangent ! Anyone got an idea what type of DV this guy has on his Scoob in this crackin' 'Ring video ? EDIT >> just noticed that the small text in the clip actually states that it's a Forge DV Go halfway down on the link below, its called "subaru imprezza ringspecial" ( wirh the download regardless ) DV Clip
~ ~ Cal ~~ Posted January 7, 2005 Author Posted January 7, 2005 [q Nice on mate. Natalie finally came round to the idea then? >> Only after 12 months of badgering - now I need to persuade her on the mods ! Cal ( who badly needs to change his Honda avatar )
Carl Davey Posted January 7, 2005 Posted January 7, 2005 Nice one Cal, in all honesty i thought it would never happen but i'm glad to be proved wrong. Car looks a good 'un in black too. Perhaps it's just me but spoiler risers have to be the naffest thing this side of gold wheels, please don't do it lol...
scuba dou Posted January 7, 2005 Posted January 7, 2005 Cal, Knock your self out mate with the clips, no worries there. Tend to agree with Carl on the high rise thingies for the rear spoiler? me thinks we need to speak to her indoors and explain the circle of life?with regard to modding your Scooby. One little thing for the house....and one bigger thing for the Scooby; it?s that simple ....and my dear wife thought the new fireplace comes all on it?d own Huh! that was just the sweetener for what?s really coming home for papa bear and his Scooby? ?Heads for thinking?..feets for dancing?? .....God I hope she don?t read this forum
dougster Posted January 7, 2005 Posted January 7, 2005 Scottish Scoobies - welcome the new post whore!!! WE GOT YOU CAL!!!!!
the squiggle Posted January 7, 2005 Posted January 7, 2005 Welcome to the mad house mate. For you to have fun with some piece of mind your will need the following. Knocklink, AFR meter, Uprated fuel pump and regulator. Grant

ANDYJDMSTI Posted January 7, 2005 Posted January 7, 2005 Cal, dont think LV touch you unless you are 30. Give Bell Direct a call, that is who i have been gone for with all of my scoobs.
Rob_D Posted January 7, 2005 Posted January 7, 2005 Congrats Cal good to have you onboard, although you've been around a long time. Look forward to seeing that beast at Alford! Cheers, Rob.
johns Posted January 7, 2005 Posted January 7, 2005 Well done Cal. I've got some news for you. I used to see that car most days driving to and from work around the BoD/Dyce area. Always kept very clean, and always driven by a young lady, who I guess was the wife/girlfriend of the owner if he worked offshore (assuming she wasn't the owner). Looks like you could have a good buy there! Look forward to seeing you at lots of events from now on John
Power Junkie Posted January 7, 2005 Posted January 7, 2005 Good to have you on board mate for insurance I am with Tesco's it's worth a try by far the cheapest for me. Mark.
pmacFTO Posted January 7, 2005 Posted January 7, 2005 I got a good quote from Warwick Davies - filled in on their site then they emailed me back...import was only a tenner more than UK model (Scooby Wagon)! Iassume the wagons are also higher BHP than equiv. UK ones?
