About evojkp

  1. Spaceman has been trying for about two years to persuade me.....nearly succeeded on a couple of occassions. never say never though
  2. Stevie, you'll be starting the Blaeberry nights out again
  3. yeah, I remember, i think we spoke up at knockhill last year.
  4. I know...dedication The big fella came into the office this morning very sheepish, mumbling about a holiday.....almost like a scene from Oliver Twist... Just got a message from him with a pic of a Scoob on fire on the return from Crail...not sure what the story is or who it was, but it did not look good.
  5. I was going to call your mobile, but dropped it on the floor. We were on our way to Orkney for the weekend, putting some more mileage on the truck. Not too bad, only 18k miles in 11 months. Can't do the 25th due to work. the weekend either side is okay.
  6. Better late than never!! You guys still up for a small beverage at some point?? Brian, was it you I passed on the A9 a few weeks back just north of Pitlochery? Driving a lexus ? It was the plate I noticed. ...John
  7. How you doing John? Looks like you've got it covered with those suggestions. I'd forgotten how Scottish Scoobies was formed
  8. Only Friday I'm available is 30th June. Midweeks suits me as well. 5th or 26th July. A bad time at work, away on holidays soon, then coming back to doing cover shifts throughout July. Although maybe for not much longer. I'm possibly off to sunnier climates to earn the beer and diesel tokens. [ip] ...John
  9. Diesel power rulz....The best car I've ever owned!! Even thinking about taking it to the ring' in August, although more of an adventure in getting there and exploring as opposed to blatting it around the circuit, although it would be rude to travel all that distance and not try and break 10 minutes [] Can we make it the 21st July? That's the only free weekend I have between now and then.
  10. Well hello to all the auld timers!!!! Blaeberry sounds rather good. Lets get it organised, although I'm struggling to get there until into July. No wise cracks about the D3 [:#] Work and imminent holidays to funsville. WLS - I've passed you a few times mate, but your blind as a bat. Good to hear your still in the land of the living. It's only taken two years to recover from the Edinburgh day out [<)] Will we start a sweepy for Brian to get a round in [] Keith, what you driving at the moment. I used to see you scooting up the gorge, but obviulsy if you've changed the car, then I'll not see you. Cheers, John
  11. Sorry for the off-topic, wrong forum section post, but.... 12" remote controlled dalek looking for a new home. These are like hens teeth, so I ordered two from seperate suppliers to ensure I had one for the wee man this xmas. Both arrived on the same day, so if anyone in the central region of Scotland is trying to get hold of one, then let me know. I'm not looking for a profit, just what I paid for it. £59. I'm also willing to travel...not too far, to ensure some kid gets this for Sunday. Again, apologies of this is out of order. Merry Xmas......Wee John
  12. << First off the Scoob is more of a drivers car with a better weight distribution due to its unique symmetrical AWD system. The EVO is like a conventional FWD with the engine sitting in front of the front axle and requires the proccessing power of NASA to deal with the understeer the chassis would naturally give. This IMHO makes it a very strange car to throw around the back roads in comparison woith the Scoob. I reckon your driving style is more suited to the Scoob than the false world of the EVO Second off you are not really that GAY are you. I know you have a tendancy to sip sherry with Torquill Fiddle-With-John but buying an Evo would be the ultimate in gayness Thirdly, i have a Best Motoring DVD here of the JDM Spec C going up against the new EVO 9 and the Spec C muffed it quite easily esp on the Touge track and the Gymkhana course. Grant >> Harsh words big guy!!! Although, your right the 'feel' in the Impreza is better. The Evo does at times, while being astonishing when pushed, feel strange. AYC/ ACD took some getting used to. Computing power...again 'nail on head' Once you learn to trust the car, you tend to let it sort out your mistakes, rather than yourself. A few hairy moments around Knockhill, and all you really need to do is keep the boot in and point it where you wish it to end up. 'Gay'....mmmm, my new manly machine has sorted that part of the equation out. All the best... ...Wee-John
  13. Just noticed this thread. Totally stunned. My thoughts are with his family and friends. I can recall some of the early SIDC runs. A sad loss.
  14. I've sold the Evo and stripped a few things off it. Now car-less for a little while. I've posted a thread in the For Sale section Hopefully I'll still get invites for the Blaeberry Nights ...John
