Aye, the road is great fun! I was held back by some motorbikes over the aberfoyle part after loch Katrine. Plus the dip on the straight next to loch Venacher caught me out. Actually took off for a second, and came out of the seat. Great fun all the same!! Kept having to slow down to let stephen catch up right enough! Were you in Aberfoyle around 2? I seen a car like yours, I was havin a bottle of beer in the pub beer garden. Dave

Hi all Brother in Law got his first scoob on Thursday. Decided to go a run in the cars, as he is still gettin used to it. Went up the callendar and aberfoyle roads(they are made for subarus!). Took some scenic photos of the cars, got to do it eh! I also had the pleasure of blasting a Chrysler Crossfire on the motorway, anyone know whats in those? Hope you like, David Attenbourgh eat your heart out!

Man I enjoyed that!! Dont thinked I blinked watching it! Eyes are sore now! -
Some of you might remember me posting my mates Puma for sale. He was desperate for a impreza ever since I gave him a shot of mine. Had a lot of trouble shifting the Puma...but at last he gave in and admitted he was only gettin shot of it with a trade in. He hit the jaclpot, got this at a really good price with his trade in. Hope you like it, he has not stopped smiling since he picked it up today. Unfortunately he cannot afford his SIDC membership till he get paid now! As he worships me I have insisted he joins! I never had the heart to tell him about the fuel consumption, so it might be parked up for a week!!

planning to head up tomorrow, had footie fest today! That looks awsome...any idea what its fastest lap time was??

Just had another thought about that. Could possibly be a fuel problem, maybe a blocked injector or the fuel pump might be going. Total guess right enough!! Just thinking that it seems to be as you are getting to the top end, a piston problem would really be at any gear at high revs. Suppose its all guess work, I would get to a Subaru garage or awd/hypertech tomorrow if poss, for peace of mind if anything. I know I was well worried last week when I had a problem. Always think the worst with these things eh!
-
I am in no way a mechanic, but when I had a problem last week I went to hypertech. What you are describing sounds exactly what duncan was describing when he thought I might have a piston starting to go. He asked if it was flat spotting at speed or when pushing. I would get it straight to subaru or a jap specialist and get them to plug it in, plus to be safe, try not to boost. Better safe than sorry! Hope its nothing serious!

The purpose of a dump valve is to keep the turbine in the turbo spinning between gear changes, hence no turbo lag. So thats the only real benefit, no power. I was also advised they really are just cosmetic, unless you are running a really high boost. I had one on my old RS turbo, after 6 months it was doing my nut in so I cut the top of my mums broom handle off and removed the valve and jammed the wood in to get peace! Best just gettin a filter if you have not already got one.

West Lothian / Central Belt Servicing

Depends on how good the dealer is...............seems to be more dross than good around nowadays! But then again that goes for a vast majority vehicle dealers IMHO Not getting into that mate....got my fingers burned tonight already! LOL! -
That was Subaru that told me that over the phone after a mechanic incorrectly diagnosed it from sound! Obviously a dealer charges about 85 notes a hour at least! Tuned out to be a spark plug, so did not have to find out the true cost! Phew!!!!!!
-
No probs mate...I understand, and shall keep in mind in future! We digress right enough...hope he gets his emgine sorted! lol!
-
As I said, apologies. Was not aware such a comment, or opinion would have such a impact!!!!!

Forgot to say.....Grieve and Noble both give SIDC discounts. I would also go to a Subaru dealer. No Jap car specialist stamp is as good as a dealers. -
Sorry if you felt this could be liableous. However it is my opinion and I would take full responsability of any consequences. RELAX!
-
Mate. I had the same worry that turned out to be nothing as bad last week, but i was quoted prices. If you needed a new engine your looking at 3 grand. For a strip, new piston and rebuild I was quoted 1.3k!! Not cheap Hope you get it sorted soon mate!

There is Ian Greive in Falkirk. I got my car from Subaru - Alex F Noble in Penecuik. Might be a bit closer! -
I totally believe that Rossi was put on this earth to be a god at any motorsport he does. To beat Mcrae is some feat! Might have been better if they had the same cars though. I hope the rumours are true and that he goes to F1, think he would completely dominate and give that a$se Schumacher a good kicking!

Cheers Paul Definately up for next central meet. Get to know more faces, did not have as much time as wanted in aviemore to mingle. Will keep my eyes open for the next meet. Until next time Dave

A great day, and good to meet you Paul. Seen you stopping and checking your rear suspension on the way up......take it everything was okay! Had to head down the road early, so never got the chance to stay for more than 30 mins in Aviemore! Hope to see everyone again soon! Dave
