[:$] Nice write-up . It sounds like the guys enjoyed their visit just as much as we did [] It also make me realise how lucky we are to have such fine roads and scenery right on our doorstep . Al. PS . This is just the kind of articles we are looking for True-grip (hint hint) . . . .

Here you go ... http://mag.subiesport.com/ Al.

[D] Congratulations [Y] Al.

Naw , thats 'Borr-heed' your thinking about [] 'Barrhead' is a nice quiet place [] Welcome aboard mate - Hope you can manage along to the Glasgow area meets They are 1st Thursday of the month (you're only 5mins from Hillington) See events section for more details . Al.

Yep , It was a good run , though a bit slippy at times - the 'forest-stage' before we arrived at the carpark was fun [] Weather could have been better - but at least the rain stayed off when we were stopped . . . .I don't think the midges had been fed for a while [] The couple swimming in Loch Lomond didn't seem to mind though [^o)] I hope the new guys enjoyed it and will be back for more next month [Y] So ... where will we go next month ? (I forgot to bring that up tonight [:$]- I'm blaming the 'kin midges [:@]) - PM suggestions to me [:-*][:#] Al.

Looks like a nice job [H] - and a good price for 'same-day' service . Did you mention SIDC ? [] BTW , I think Wullie said the colour he would use on my gold OZs was 'Regal' gold when I discussed refurbing them - these look like the same colour as mine . I only had one wee problem with the motorbike wheels they did for me . I knew that they couldn't balance bike wheels - car wheels are what they do -, and I'd to replace the bearings and bolt my discs back on anyway . But when I took them to the backdoor of my local m/bike shop to get the tyres seated and wheels balanced the mechanic noticed that car valves had been fitted . These have longer stems than motorcycle ones and can flex and even start splitting on a motorbike wheel . But they changed them , fitted the tyres and balanced the wheels gratis (it was lunchtime []) but I'll have to drop in to Chameleon and point out the difference , 'cos I didn't even notice till I was shown myself, so if fairness being a car wheel place they'd probably not know either.... so not really their fault IMHO . Anyway . . . are you going to make it along on Thursday night ? Al.

You'd better tell these guys that too then []. . . http://www.strathclyde.police.uk/index.asp...86&docID=-1 LOL[] Al.

Heres a couple of pics of the GB270 : Al.

Collected my wheels today . Chameleon did a great job . They gave me SIDC discount and did them for £35 each instead of £40 each []. He told me that when they dipped them the white paint came off revealing black , then more white , then the original black finish , then they bead blasted them to bare alloy - so they are a bit lighter now too , having have 4-coats removed [] Heres some pics , They also demonstrated a new wheel cleaner that they will be selling soon . It is specifically for powder-coated and painted wheels and is not acid unlike most wheelcleaners. It was sprayed on , left a minute and when hosed off , the dirt just fell off . It looks like good stuff . They reckon it will be about £10 for a bottle , which seems pretty good value as it is concentrated and you only need 1:10 with water . I got a bottle to try out [] Again - They'll give SIDC discount if you show your membership card [Y] Good job and good guys to deal with. Al.

I've a pair of motorbike wheels (early GSXR750 ) in at Chameleon for refurb just now . I'll be collecting them on Wednesday and I'll post a couple of pics once I get them back. Al.

It's good to hear that the 'new' members and members from other areas enjoyed the BBQ/meet .[Y] Our June meet was intented as more of a 'social' meet , rather than just a 'run' , to give everyone a chance to mingle and chat , and put faces to names . I can see it becoming an annual event in the Glasgow/Strathclyde calendar [] Keep the pics coming folks . Some of the ones posted so far are class []- look at the colour drain from the haggis that 'Squirrel' bit [] Al. Ps . Sorry to hear your bad news , Peco []

The 'Haggis hunt' . . . . "No Squirrel , thats not a haggis " [] The search continued ... The first pair spotted - sniffing about Imys bag Then they were everywhere [] Got 'im [] Al. Disclaimer: No haggis were harmed in the making of the meet/run/bbq []

Here are my pics . (Wildlife pics to follow []) Al.

Just back from a great evening . 26 cars met at our usual place and headed off for a bbq . The weather looked like it might have turned nasty but once we arrived at our destination it brightened up a bit and stayed dry. The standard and variety of cars that were there tonight was outstanding and a fine example of what the club is all about. It was also nice to see partners and kids there tonight too as this months meet was intended more of a 'social' event than just a 'run'. I hope that the 'new' members who were there also enjoyed themselves - thanks for coming along and we look forward to seeing you again at future meets. I can't wait to see some of the pics from tonight []I'll post mine shortly . Al Ps The smell of the food attracted the haggis from the hills and before we knew it they were all over the cars []

Looking at the 'events' section , there are loads of Scottish Scoobies events coming up that are potential 'True Grip' articles .. . . If we get good photos and a wee write-up of any of our events : runs , meets , trackdays , dynodays , sprints , shows etc , we could send them down and they may get published [] We have enough Scottish Scoobies events every month to fill a magazine - so lets get snapping and writing reports so that folk reading True-Grip see that there is life 'north of the border' BTW. . . . I know that there have been articles submitted and not (as-yet) published , but , if we don't send any , they'll have none to publish - so don't give up , send them in ... we may even get a special Scottish edition [^o)]. Welcome aboard [] Why not come along to the next Glasgow area meet ? The June meet/run is on Thursday 7th and should be a good one - see the 'events' section for more info. [Y] Nice classic type-r too mate . Any mods ? . . . . . yet ? ('cos it will happen []) Al.

[] wow Thanks [Y] Al. Ps .. a crashhelmet worn in a car like that , just doesn't seen 'right' [^o)]

Any pics of Wilkys car ? It sounds like its a bit tasty [H] Al

. . . I'm home [] I hope these pics help [Y] BTW. The plastic cover (with the K&N sticker) is a genuine Subaru part for a non-turbo Impreza .(Their airbox is roughly where our 'cooler sits so they have these covers where our air intake is) This cover costs about 7 quid and does a great job of keeping the hot air from the engine getting near the filter , ensuring that only cold air from the inner-wing is sooked in [H] The MAF housing is rotated to suit the flange on the APS pipe . Al.

Looks like a great weekend . I wish I could have been , but someones got to keep the cogs of industry turning [] How did 'jet-pack-man' fare ? I want to see pics of that nutter [] Good to see the club stand showing some cracking cars , and some Scottish-scooby hospitality [C] . Well-done to all involved [Y] Al. PS : John-S , Spooks , Paul , Del , indeed all R.O.s - The 2 large white marquees are available for any SIDC events , just give myself , or any of the Glasgow regulars a shout to arrange to use them . PPS : I have a banner in the boot of my car - it should have been at K/H [:$]

It looks like 'Go Fast Jet Pac Man' had to hire one of the K/H crashhelmets - I hope he gets his deposit back lol [] Al.
