  1. I'm not usually one for posting warnings about potential scams but I had a close call yesterday. I walked into B&Q hardware store at lunchtime and some old guy dressed in a black shirt with an orange apron on asked me if I wanted decking. Fortunately, I got the first punch in and sorted the b*stard out. Those less suspecting might not be so lucky. Al.
  2. I'd a good day on Saturday . Nothing happening outdoors (but I'spose , wi the winds ,any freestylers would have landed in Kirkcaldy lol) But the trade stands were pretty cool with most bikes available to 'try-on' as the chicks put it My mate and I were strangely drawen to the 'classic' bit where we had a 'I'd that' 'I'd That' 'I'd THAT' 'I'D THAT ' trumping session over the 70's/80's 'classic' (old) bikes (in the way that only 40sumthing men can ) . . . The women shopped ..... Scoob served well as a shopping trolly . The chicks had the boot half full then my pal produced the Quasi-modo rucksack he'd bought . I got nothing , but I was told that was ok 'cos she got 3 things therefore technically she'd only really got one thing cos .........etc etc We headed back west and ended up stopping in at Peters for a fine feed , which rounded off a good day oot ^_^ Al.

  6. I'm going on Saturday in scooby - weather is pish and I can't fit the two chicks on my bike I go every year , religiously (if not cancelled by snow ) I agree with above comments ie Same **** different year . But it is still the biggest (only) in Scotland . I'll spend most of the show oohing and ahhing at the 'classics' TBH , much to the annoyance of my 'ladyfriend', who I'm sure has a serious shopping spree planned I hope I'll bump into some of you guys there , Al.

  10. A teacher is explaining biology to her 4th grade students. 'Human beings are the only animals that stutter', she says. A little girl raises her hand. 'I had a kitty-cat who once stuttered Miss!' The teacher, knowing how precious some of these stories could become, asked the girl to describe the incident. 'Well', the girl began, 'I was in the back yard with my kitty, and the rotweiler that lives next door got a running start, and before we knew it he jumped over the fence into our yard! 'That must've been very scary', said the teacher. 'It sure was,' said the little girl. 'My kitty raised his back, went "Fffff.. Fffff.. Fffff'..!" ...and before he could say '****,' the rotweiler ate him!' Al

  18. Spring has sprung so the bikes were brought out of hibernation . I had my old Bonnie in for a MOT today - passed - not bad for a 28yr old (... the bike not me ) Next , I charged up the Dukes battery .... after a bit of typical Italian stubborness she fired-up and was rewarded with a wee run down the coast . 11yr old 750ss 5000 miles - best handling bike ever. What a buzz Then it was the turn of my ratty Gixxer - I thought I'd have problems with that bitch , but, first touch of the button she fired-up woo-hoo . . . . Hat-trick I've a bit of fine tuning and fettling to do tomorrow , but I'm well-chuffed "Sometimes its great being me" Al.
  19. I've felt that the roads are slippier than usual this winter , and I've heard that the grit/salt being used here is mixed with some molasses based stuff to make it 'stick' and stop it being washed away by the rain I thought it must be an 'urban myth' but I have heard the same story from several different sources . . . does anyone know if this is true ? According to friends in Cowal the sheep have even got a taste for this stuff now and come off the hills when they hear the gritter, to lick the stuff off the road I knew the deer like to lick the salt off the roads at dawn and dusk (I hit one 2 years ago ) , but apparently the sheep love this new stuff Being a 'barmy-biker' the thought of 'greased' roads is downright scarey Anyone else heard anything about this ? Al.
  20. A belated 'aw ra best' John Hope you'd a good un. Al.
