  4. I can just see it now - "How'd you lose your finger ?" "I just went . . . . . . . . yow! ... there goes another !" Al.
  5. I've felt that the roads are slippier than usual this winter , and I've heard that the grit/salt being used here is mixed with some molasses based stuff to make it 'stick' and stop it being washed away by the rain I thought it must be an 'urban myth' but I have heard the same story from several different sources . . . does anyone know if this is true ? According to friends in Cowal the sheep have even got a taste for this stuff now and come off the hills when they hear the gritter, to lick the stuff off the road I knew the deer like to lick the salt off the roads at dawn and dusk (I hit one 2 years ago ) , but apparently the sheep love this new stuff Being a 'barmy-biker' the thought of 'greased' roads is downright scarey Anyone else heard anything about this ? Al.

  9. I was showing my first scoob to a mate who had a tricked-out mondeo 2.5 v6 . He'd a wee look and sarcasticly said "Is that it ?" "Have a look at the front" I said. He went round , looked long and hard and said , puzzled , "Whats special about the front ?" "Nothing" I replied "- its just the only time you're likely to see the front !" Al.
  10. Absolutely brilliant Just sent it to my mate in Canada who is mad about snowboarding . Al.

  13. Welcome. Glasgow meets are held on the first Thursday of the month - see the 'events' section and 'calender' for more info . Hope too see you at a meet soon . Al.
  14. Just a though , has it been serviced recently ? This is a common problem just after a service/oil-change - if it has been slightly over-filled the excess oil gets through and contaminates the boost solenoid (which can be cleaned by following the procedure described by 'the Squiggle' , above) Best keeping the oil level at the 'mid' mark on the dipstick rather than dead-on the 'full' line . Al.
  15. Sorry to hear your stepping down , but you have done a grand job mate I just don't know who'll be able to fill your (huge red) shoes See you soon , Al.

  21. Believe it or not , we had a very tight schedule which we were working to this morning . We liased with Police and Yorkhill to ensure our run wouldn't clash with the bikers Christmas toy-run. Our original times had to be changed at short notice to suit. We also had to alter our route , on Police advice , to allow for 3000 Santas taking part in a 5k run through the city Al.
  22. This years Santa Cruise to Yorkhill childrens hospital went well today. We had a good turnout and the weather was kind to us . Thanks to everyone for turning up and making it a great day . The cars decorated in Christmas decorations looked great. Karps won 'best decorated car' (voted by the members kids) Thanks also to David Paterson from Subaru UK for coming along with a mint new GB270 (which got the tinsel treatment too hehehe) and donating some excellent presents - Subaru kids bikes and toys. And finally , thanks to Santa for coming along and helping out - we know this is a busy time of year for you . I hope we brought a little bit of Christmas cheer to some of the kids in hospital over the festive season. Well done everyone Al.
