  1. Nice-one Grant [Y] It'll be interesting to hear the results to find out just what we are putting into our cars . (BTW . Roughly 98RON = 90MON ,100RON = 91.5MON ) I'm off shift from tonight till Sunday and I'll be filling up with Tesco '99 tomorrow , so I'll carry out some more 'testing' (ahem!) in the next few days and report back at the weekend. Al.
  2. A lighter flywheel will make it worse due to the lack of inertia . Getting the fine balance between 'bogging-down' and wheelspin required for a good take-off is mostly down to technique and lots of practice [] Al.
  3. Link says it is on Mondays at 10pm from 12 March I'm looking forward to this [] Al.
  4. I have always used Shells finest in my Subarus - Optimax and now V-power . My car mapped for Optimax. On Saturday I noticed for the first time that my local Tesco (Renfrew) had 99RON in their pumps , so I put £20 worth into my almost empty tank . I liked the price - it was 89something compared to 91ish for V-P. Performance-wise I can't say I notice any difference (if anything it is pulling slightly stronger - but it has been a bit chilly) MPG seems to be the same . I didn't do a ECU reset - but my '00 should have 'learned' the new fuel in the first 50miles or so . I think I'll try Tesco 99 again when I next fill up . Is anyone else using Tesco 99 ? Anyone any comments about '99 vs V-power ? Al.
  5. Bloomin' Chinese hoodies [] It happens all the time - you get a good shot in focus and ... yeeeeaaa ... one of them jumps into the frame [] lol [] Al.
  6. I'll read Peters [] Al.
  7. I hate hearing about things like this [:@] Where are you located ? Is it a dodgy area ? or do you think your car is being targeted specificaly ? Al.
  8. Green cotton panel filter came out tops in the tests carried out by Scoobymag (sadly now defunct) I've used the Green , without problems , in both my '99 wagon and my '00 saloon (before I fitted my APS CAK) Al.
  9. I received this lovely letter and certificate today from Jill and the staff at Yorkhill and I promised to post it here to thank everyone for all the hard work that went into our 2006 Santa Cruise . It is nice to know that what is a fun day out for us is also appreciated and helps make the kids stay in hospital just a little bit easier , especially over Christmas time. So to all who were involved , whether you helped raise money , donated presents , took part or contributed in our raffle + meal , attended any of the S.C. events , went shopping for presents , helped with hats / stickers , dressed up , or just came along and decorated your car and took part in the run through the city to the hospital. . . . . . THANKS and well-done everyone [Y] Lets make Santa Cruise 2007 another good one folks [] Al.

  15. Thanks St3ph3n [Y] You are a gent . I'm glad the meeting is going to go ahead as usual as I appreciate that people have to plan ahead and don't like having to change plans. It is also important that we don't waste any time getting our plans made for the season ahead... The agenda therefore is as mentioned in the thread in 'events' - ideas for events to organise , attend or participate - in for 2007 calender . Hopefuly we can get a list of suggestions and some of the guys can then start getting the ball rolling and making enquiries . Thanks again S , see you Saturday when you can let me know how it went [] Al.
  16. Unfortunately I will not be able to manage to make it on Thursday for our regular meet folks [] I will be attending my friends funeral in Belfast on Thursday and I will be staying overnight . I've left the post in 'events' as-is , until we decide if we'd like to postpone the meet for a week (8th Feb) or if one (or two even ?) of the regulars would mind standing-in - Billyboy ? St3ph3n ? Peter ? Squirrel ? Imy ? - any takers ? Sorry for the short notice [:$] Al.
  17. I hope they enjoy their visit . Pity they couldn't manage to come through to Peters restaurant though , there will be around 10 scoobs there tonight . Al.
  18. The manager in my local Tesco locked a shoplifter in his office till the police arrived . Shoplifter got the tannoy mike and nearly caused a riot when he announced that all the butchermeat and alchohol were on a special halfprice offer ! []Al

[]Praise indeed , from the most westerly point of the UK . Al.
  24. They are class [] G is still working away protecting fish , but I'll email these to him and report back with his comments [] Al.
  25. If you are serious , then ask a friendly tyre fitter to swap your LHS tyres onto your RHS rims and v-v Don't run tyres backwards , wet performance will be dangerous as will braking . Worse ...in extreme cases ,due to directional construction , they can 'unravel' with tread peeling off [] BTW don't ruin your snowchains at Knockhill - you'll be needing them for the March highland fling [] Al.
