  16. Welcome to the site mate, and congrats on your choice of past and current cars!! [H] Here are a few of the places that I've read of doing decent big power, large torque conversions...... 17. The 1.8T 190 was always a 6-speed mate... Easy way to tell if its FWD or not, turn off ESP, engage first, engage handbrake, dial in 6k revs and then let go of cluch. [] Alternatively, you could find a nice patch of wet grass (more bodywork friendly than gravel), disengage ESP, floor it and turn wheel. If it just spins and continues forward, its FWD.. If it kicks sideways then its 4WD. [] Cheers, Grant
  18. We had the very same car... Ours was the 1.8T Sport 190. [H] Very nice car!! [] Cheers, Grant
  19. If it were me and I was trying to keep the mods on the subtle/low side but still going for a custom re-map then I'd look at a larger capacity TMIC in addition to your shopping list. I would also uprate the brakes and suspension, power is nothing without control... and the ability to stop once you've run out of space to use the loud pedal is a BIG advantage. [] Cheers, Grant
  20. Och maybe it'll just need a bit of a work out... the car hasnt moved much since I've fitted it... [] Cheers, Grant
  21. Got the DV ok mate... Think it needs a service pack to free it up though, its pretty quiet?? [] Think I'm gonna go for a FMIC when £££ and supporting mods are around.. Cheers, Grant
  22. My car has a 255 on it, but the Regulator is sitting in my garage waiting to be fitted... Did you raise the fuelling via the regulator to make it over-fuel like a beehatch then Col?? Cheers, Grant
  23. ...how much ball-ache is it to modify an STi8 intercooler to fit a late UK Classic Turbo?? Am I just as well going for a FMIC Kit, because they seem to be the same price (pre-mods on the V8 TMIC) and bolt straight up. Only problem with this is, I still run a wee stock TD04 and I'm not sure how it would drive/perform with the FMIC on there...... That leads me onto a Turbo-replacement?! Its true, once you buy your first mod.. you cant stop buying mods!! [] Cheers, Grant
  24. Ok, I am leaning towards fitting it now... I shall let you guys know what the outcome is. [] Cheers, Grant
  25. ......fit an open neck, heat wrapped de-cat downpipe on a MY99 PPP'd Classic without a re-map and it to be safe?? Cheers, Grant
