As above really, a friend is looking for a 3-gauge (Oil Temp, Oil P. & Boost P.) set-up for his late Classic and wants to know where to buy them?? Also, where is best for a central pod that fits well and blends nicely into the interior?? Plus, how much should it cost to get them fitted for him?? Thanks in advance.. [H] Cheers, Grant

I would rebuild it properly.. see how long that lasts, then if that blows quickly then I'd look into spending decent wedge (c2k) on an uprated unit and at that power level, you shouldnt have a problem again. [] Cheers, Grant

Yea, as Acid has said.. I dont have too much of a 'hands-on' background, I can work on cars etc.... but my Job History has been mostly in Sales, both B2B and B2C. Thats why I'm not bothered about starting at the bottom of the ladder as far as a job goes, because I know I dont have any relevant experience, I'm hoping that it will get my foot in the door as best I can.. I believe there is a stronger chance of moving up the ladder within the company & receiving training that way, than applying for jobs that are currently 'above' me and getting nowhere. I assume that because there is more money/better conditions to be had overseas.... that leaves the odd gap here and there to fill in 'home waters' for people like me.... Hopefully!! lol!! Was feeling that way myself... [] Cheers, Grant

I'm pissed off doing what I'm doing just now, thats why I've taken time out in Australia to kind of get my head straight. I'm looking to start a new career... and want to explore the possibility of going offshore. I'm willing to start from the bottom of the ladder etc, doing the sh@tty jobs first.. but have been told that I need to get my RGIT, I think thats what its called anyway?! I'm not sure how to do this, or who to get in touch with to get more info about it.. so was wondering if anyone on here could give me few pointers?? Also, I know its not defo that I'd get a job once I got my course completed, but surely there is a good chance that companies will be looking for a little bitch to tidy stuff up??! Hahaha!! Any help is very welcome. Cheers, Grant

Whats the new turbo that you are running on your car Gumball?? You got an estimated Power Figure.. or a level you're aiming at?? Cheers, Grant -
Whenever someone asks me if I know any jokes, I dunno why, but this one comes into my head.. I got told it aaaaaaages ago by a totally random guy but its stuck in my mind and its not even that good. I'm gonna tell it anyway!! [8-)] [] What do the arabs call camels?? Saudi TTs...... *cue* - tumbleweed Cheers, Grant

To be honest, I'd look elsewhere rather than the HKS Exhaust, parts of them are made from Mild Steel (or they used to be anyway)... Hayward and Scott do a TOP quality job and could supply all parts of the exhaust you wanted (including Headers). I've bought stuff from H&S and wouldnt hesitate in buying from them again, I know a lot of other people that are the same. Bear in mind that it doesnt take many (very subtle) mods on an EVO to be up near a genuine and comfortable 380bhp, so as someone said, it might not be standard either. Cheers, Grant

Good to hear mate, bet it cant come soon enough for you... [] Cheers, Grant

Big difference mate... I dunno why Subaru made the wedges orange either, look awful. Cheers, Grant

If I remember correctly... there is a wee arrow on the side repeater that shows you which way to slide it?? Cheers, Grant
-
Anything past 12'o'clock then I'll indicate and then indicate when I'm coming off down the 'straight ahead' exit, I'll do this even if the road markings have a straightforward arrow... Cheers, Grant

Wouldnt like to think how much it cost the insurers to fix that M3... in fact, it might have been touch and go, they might have written it off!! [] 1 x Complete Dashboard 1 x Complete Interior (inc doorcards, fixtures & fittings and headlining) 1 x Full Bare Metal Respray inc Pair of Wing Mirrors Craaaaaaaazy beeatch!! Cheers, Grant

....just to add, you should be running your car on Shell Optimax + Octane Booster to try and raise the quality of the petrol to something near the 101 RON that it was used to in Japan. I would guess the Main Dealer will suggest this to you, but I would also fit a new MAF sensor while the car is in there. Few people I know have looked into an uprated Oil Pump as well. Cheers, Grant

Unless your car has any non-standard mods (De-Cat Downpipe, ECU Re-Map, Induction Kit etc..) then I dont see why they cannot honour any Warranty on the new short motor.. after all, I'm led to believe that its EXACTLY the same Engine, Turbo & ECU in both a Version 5 STi and a P1. That is part of the reason that the P1's have such a bad reputation for blowing their bottom ends, its a map for 101 RON fuel and the in-tank broquet fitted by Prodrive to raise the octane rating of the fuel used barely lasts 40k miles, rather than the 70 or 80k that Subaru thought. There wont be a more cost effective route for you than replacing like-for-like in my opinion.... however, I'm sure that you could get a cheaper place to supply and fit a new short-block to your car, the dealers tend to charge slightly more in my experience. Once you get a new engine fitted and run-in properly.. then I would advise you to get in contact with an EcuTek dealer who will be able to re-map your standard ECU so that your new engine runs safely on 95, 97 or 98 RON standard UK pump petrol.. which should go some way to prevent this sort of thing happening again. [] Cheers, Grant

Those wee orange bits under the indicators . . .
RS Grant replied to kloon's topic in Scottish Scoobies
They pop out easily enough, I found that unscrewing the indicator and then popping them out from the inside was easier.. and as for what colour they are sprayed, thats down to personal choice. Most people either go Black or Body Coloured. [] Cheers, Grant
